Special Containment Procedures: SCP-049 is to be contained in a secure holding cell in Research Sector-██. SCP-049 is not to be removed from its cell unless approved by a Level Two or higher personnel, before which SCP-049 must be heavily sedated. Even so, at such times SCP-049 is to be accompanied by two (2) armed guards and guided by an iron collar, secured to two (2) iron poles 2 m in length and held firmly by two (2) Level One or higher personnel while in transit. Any experiments performed on SCP-049 are to be conducted inside of specifically prepared rooms (see document 042-D-3-18).

SCP-049's cell should be monitored at all times via a security camera. Should any abnormal behavior occur, Doctor ████ is to be alerted at once.

Description: SCP-049 is humanoid in appearance, standing at 1.9 m tall and weighing 95.3 kg; however, the Foundation is currently incapable of studying its face and body more fully, as it is covered in what appears to be the garb of the traditional "Plague Doctor" from 15-16th century Europe. This material is actually a part of SCP-049's body, as microscopic and genetic testing shows it to be similar in structure to muscle, although it feels much like rough leather and the mask much like ceramic. It was originally discovered in ██████, England, by local police. The mobile task force [REDACTED] responded to a suspected outbreak of [DATA EXPUNGED]. All civilians within a .5km radius were given the class amnesties as part of the initial containment procedure.

SCP-049 does not speak (See addendum A-1), although it seems to understand English perfectly well, and is completely docile until it tries to perform surgery. SCP-049's touch is invariably lethal to humans. After contact with SCP-049's hand(s), the victim (hereafter referred to as SCP-049-2) suffers [DATA EXPUNGED] and dies within moments. SCP-049 will then attempt to kill all humans it can see in a similar manner, supposedly to avoid interruption, before returning to SCP-049-2. It produces a bag made of [DATA EXPUNGED] containing scalpels, needle, thread, and several vials of an as-yet-unidentified substance, from somewhere within its body (research has been unable to locate these tools when inside of SCP-049 through X-ray and similar techniques) and begins dissecting SCP-049-2, as well as inserting various chemicals into the body. After approximately 20 minutes, SCP-049 will sew SCP-049-2 back up and become docile once more.

After a period of a few minutes, SCP-049-2 will resume vital signs and appears to reanimate. However, SCP-049-2 seems completely without higher brain functions and will wander aimlessly until it encounters another living human. At that point, SCP-049-2's adrenaline and endorphin levels increase to approximately three-hundred (300) percent as it attempts to kill and ██████ any human beings it can find, before returning to its mindless state and wandering until it comes across more humans. At this stage, termination with extreme prejudice is allowed. Failure to enforce this protocol outside of testing scenarios (see addendum T-049-12) is punishable by termination.

Detailed autopsies of SCP-049-2 have found several unusual substances (along with usual substances in large amounts) within the bodies, including [DATA EXPUNGED]. However, several have yet to be identified (researchers with level 3 or higher authorization, refer to Addendum C-1).

Addendum A-1: SCP-049 spoke for the first time today, 12-6-20██, addressing Dr. ████. A full account of the conversation is attached.

Interviewed: SCP-049

Interviewer: Doctor ███████ ████

Foreword: SCP-049 randomly began speaking with no obvious provocation en route to a testing facility. Doctor ████ was recording notes at the time on a handheld microphone. Irrelevant data has been omitted.

SCP-049: "What is this place?"

Dr. ████: "What? It's a labor..." [There is a loud crash here, from Doctor ████ dropping the recording device in shock.]

SCP-049: "A laboratory? It is quite marvelous. I now find it no wonder I've seen so few victims of the disease in here."

Dr. ████: "Y...eah. You see, I'd thought you incapable of speech. I'm somewhat startled you, um, can."

SCP-049: "Oh, my, yes, good sir. I simply prefer not to. Most victims of the disease are quite melancholy and do not react at all well to conversation. I have seen you several times now, and have not detected the disease in you; therefore I assume you are also a doctor?"

Dr. ████: "Yes, actually. Call me [REDACTED]... but, what 'disease' are you talking about?"

SCP-049: "Why, good doctor, the Great Pestilence. What else?"

Dr. ████: "Great pesti... Oh, the Plague. Should have seen that coming. But, no one here is infected, I can assure you."

SCP-049: "Oh, good doctor, I can assure you, the Pestilence is here, and I can sense it. It is my duty in life to rid the world of it. My cure is most effective."

Dr. ████: "Your cure? Your cure has cost us hundreds of lives! Your cure is faulty!"

SCP-049: "Good doctor, my cure is most effective."

[SCP-049 lapsed once again into silence, and no further attempts to make it speak were effective.]

Closing Statement: "We managed to get our tests done for that day, trying to figure out what causes it to perform surgery, or, more accurately, what it detects as the 'Pestilence'. So far, research has shown us no correlation between any of the D-class personnel it has performed surgery on. We're still working on it."

Addendum C-1: Level 3 authorization required: On 4-26-20██ SCP-049 managed to break containment. During the roughly 5 minute period in which it was unsupervised, it came into contact with SCP-███. Upon being detained, SCP-049 was very calm and amiable. Since this time, however, SCP-049 has been shown to be much more talkative leading up to and performing surgery.

I don't know what oh-four-nine and that damned mask talked about, but he seems much happier overall. He no longer seems to simply sit and mope around in his cell, and several staff has claimed to hear him humming old church hymns. In addition, in the moments leading up to performing surgery, he has started talking, apparently trying to... comfort his victim. Claiming that he is the 'cure', among other things. The focus of our research has been shifted towards finding out what the hell he and [REDACTED] talked about during their little chat. -Dr. ████

Dr.Bright report to 05-5 told Dr.Bright to go told Alison to gather all available Mobile Task Force then put all of the D-Class inside the cafeteria. Dr.Bright did what he was told but he knew that a fight was going to break out and 05-5 knew that too. The cafeteria was big enough to hold them all but it would be tight. The Foundation only this once before and nothing to bad happened during that time.

Alison gathers all available Mobile Task Force soldiers but there wasn't enough to cover the D-Class so Alison sent a Mobile Task Force to go look for Clef. Alison was hoping that he wouldn't be able to found him or that his shoulder wouldn't able him to help Alison didn't even like the sound of his voice or even the feel of his eyes on her. Alison couldn't understand how Zoe or Raven could stand to be around his for so long...sometimes alone at that.

Mobile Task Force soldier did found Clef and his shoulder is healed enough for him to help out and Mobile Task Force soldier bought Clef back as soon as Alison seen Clef her muscles tense up. She tried just to suck it up and reminded herself that she has a job to do.

"Hey Alison, what's wrong with you?" Clef laughs "You look like you staring at an SCP." Clef said smiling innocently.

Alison's jaw clenched and her hands went into tight fists.

"I swear Dr.Clef one of those days I'm going shot you," Alison said through her teeth.

"Why not today? It's as good as any." Clef said with laugh

"I promised Dr. Kondraki that I would let him got to you first. Besides Zoe said when Dr. Kondraki knocks you out she's going to dry your hair pink" Alison laugh "I would love to see you with pink hair!" Alison said with a smile but it did little to hide anything.

Alison's smiling but her body is as stiff as a board and she's using her best to keep her breathing under control.

"Dr.Clef you're staying at the door with Dr.Bright to keep an eye on the hallways makes sure that nothing else happens," Alison said quickly and walks inside to get away from Clef.

Clef's stand there with wide eyes all of his amusement was just taken away. Clef knows that Zoe isn't the one that would throw around empty threats and if this once she was just joking. Clef knows that Zoe told Raven and Raven would definably do it if Zoe isn't going to do it. Actually, he was glad that Alison said that because now he knows not to fall sleep around either one of them.

Dr.Bright walks out into the hall and started to laugh seeing Clef's face.

"Hey Cliffy, what's wrong?" Dr.Bright asked still laughing.

"Oh, nothing Chao just gave me a damn good reason not to let my grand around Zoe or Raven," Clef said

Clef didn't like Dr.Bright calling me Cliffy but no matter what he did to Dr.Bright or said he wouldn't stop.

Dr.Bright stop laughing and his smile faded away "Aw!" Dr.Bright turns to face the cafeteria and yelled "Hey Alison, why did you ruin Cliffy's surprise for?"

"I didn't know it was supported to be a surprise," Alison yelled back

Dr.Bright, Zoe, and her father Dr.Gears were the only ones that Alison allowed to call her by her first name.

Zoe has been her friend for three years but Raven and Ailson just didn't see eye to eye on many things. Dr.Bright has been her friend for five years now. Alison has described Dr.Bright has a lovable playful intelligent idiot. Dr.Bright is very intelligent even though most of the time he acts like an idiot but unlike the most of the people here, he can afford to act like an idiot Dr.Bright never really drag others in his stupidity at lease he tries not to.

"I would shoot you but you would enjoy it." Clef said rolling his eyes.

Dr.Bright looks at Clef with a smile "That's what you get for what you did not only to the little girl but Zoe has to translate it."

"Can't Zoe just be happy with the fact I got stabbed in the shoulder and Konny is going to stab me again?" Clef said

"Oh come having pink hair isn't going to be that bad!" Dr.Bright laugh "You might look good with pink hair and women might not be so scared of you!" Dr.Bright

"Dr.Bright!"

Dr.Bright jumped and look back to see Zoe "What did I do?" He asked

"You ruined my surprise for Clef!" Zoe said

"I didn't Alison did," Dr.Bright said

"What are you doing here Zoe? You know you're not allowing around the D-Class." Clef asked.

"I was looking for a 05 or Mobile Task Force soldier there is a D-Class inside of Houdini's containment cell," Zoe said

Zoe calls SCP-049 Houdini because of his habit of breaking out of his cell surprisingly he might not do it as often as you think it's only when he's disease pops up.

"What how in Hell did that happen!?" Clef asked

"Did you see the D-Class's number?" Dr.Bright asked

"Yeah D-Class-1998, why does it matter?" Zoe asked

Dr.Bright's eyes went wide and his shoulder drop "One of the D-Class that went missing...." Dr.Bright whispered then ran into the cafeteria to look for Alison so she could radio to a 05, Clef and ran into after him.

Raven woke up an hour ago and she walking around the site when she decides to go see Butterfree that was just hers and Zoe's nickname for SCP-408. Kondraki thought it was funny so funny he actually laughed and SCP-408 actually likes being called that. When Raven walk inside of SCP- 408's containment she has seen Kondraki.

"Hello, Konny and Butterfree," Raven said with a smile

Kondraki looks back at Raven then smile "Hello Raven when did you wake up?" Kondraki asked

"Raven....Alright?" SCP-408 asked

Kondraki been teaching SCP-408 to talk it's been working but slow but you can understand what it's saying. Raven and Kondraki has been every since Raven and Zoe came to the Foundation he's the one that taught her how to be a great Field Agent.

"I woke up an hour ago and I'm fine Butterfree," Raven said

Raven heard running footsteps and looks out the window to see a few Mobile Task Force soldiers, Zoe, Clef, Alison, Dr.Bright and 05-5 starting to run passed SCP-408's containment cell. 05-5 stopped and just stared at Raven for a minute then started to run again.

Raven looks at Kondraki "What's going on?"

Kondraki looks at Raven and shrugs.

Everyone gets to the camera room and looks inside SCP-049's containment cell to see a zombified D-Class. SCP-049 is just sitting in the corner while the zombified D-Class was just walking around but then started to hit the containment cell's door.

"Well this is just great, isn't it, how in the fuck are going to get it the damn D-Class out of there?" Clef asked

"Forget what the D-Class, for now, we need to look at the cameras to see how and who the put the D-Class in there," 05-5 said

Alison was trying to found the video feed then she sighs.

"We can't the video feed has been destroyed," Alison said

"What?! So our only way of knowing who did this is SCP-049?" Dr.Bright said

"That isn't going to do our much good he hasn't said a word in years," Zoe said

"Ma'am, should we go inside and get the zombified D-Class?" One of the Mobile Task Force soldier asked.

"Yes, none of you to go inside SCP-049's containment cell just let the zombified D-Class out and close the door," 05-5 said handing the Mobile Task Force soldier a key card that can open any door.

"First SCP-106 got out and now this," Alison said shaking her head

05-5 couldn't help but wonder first SCP-106 got out and grabbed Raven and she comes out just fine she wakes up and now this D-Classes are missing and as soon as we realize that one just found in an SCP containment cell....

"I think he let her go because she was the one that let him out," 05-5 said out loud without thinking.

Zoe froze for a minute just staring at the screen she can't believe that 05-5 is even thinking that Raven anything to do with them.

"05-5 with all due respect Raven didn't do this!" Zoe said looking at 05-5.

"I agree 05-5 Raven couldn't do this," Alison said looking at her

"Yeah if she did even either I or Right would be in there...Or both." Clef said.

"Why would you even think Raven did this 05-5?" Dr.Bright asked

Everyone but Clef jumped when they heard a gunshot signaling that zombified D-Class has been shot.
