The Backbone of Ramayana
Letter to Urmila by mythooolover
To the most vital lady of Ramayana
Whenever people talk about Ramayana they talk about Lord Rama's virtue, Mata Sita's bravery and struggle, Bharat and Hanuman's devotion and Lakshman's selflessness. Some of the who deserved to be recognized are ignored.
Today I write this letter to the "YOUNGER JANAKNANDINI" for I feel you played a major role amongst most of their lives. Today through this letter I apologize to you on behalf of people who think JANKI is only MATA SITA. They had absolutely no right to tamper your identity.
I apologize on behalf of people who know you only as Lakshman's wife/Sita's sister. I acutally pitty them for not knowing such a personality. You were Rama's little sister, you were Sita's soul, Lakshman's beloved, your Sisters' strength , your brothers in law's valour, your mothers in law's support, Janak's janki and Sunaina's suta but most importantly you were "THE URMILA" the lady who gave the promise to never come between Lakshman's devtion towards his brother, the lady who could have easily married any kingdom's heir and enjoy as queen but still married Lakshman knowing that he was a commoner's son who had no rights over the throne and who's aim was just to serve his brother.
You were the lady who's sacrifice, strength, bravery and virtues were overshadowed by people's guilt towards Sita. You did not raise any weapon in the war against Adharma , yet you were that strong foundation who bore all the weight upon herself and made way for Dharma's victory.
You handed over your Children to your brother in law to fulfill the void in his life not caring about your own void. You were the lady who sacrificed 13 years of your life SLEEPING for the betterment of mankind and still is unrecognized. You were the unsung heroine, The Iron lady of Ramayana who got no Tittle, no recognition absolutely nothing but still happily sacrificed everything for others.
Sorry! Because we failed you!
