Ch- IV The Great Imprint
The winged Great Imprint stares back at me withholding a gruesome sight of blood, gore and flesh as decor ,flashing it to me as a shiny trophy.
Small pieces of flesh furnished with crimson paint the Wings with the superiority of death.
My eyes snap towards the figure in the corner..most likely unconscious.
She can easily pass for dead by the amount of cuts scarring her small frame, if not for the light rise and fall in her shoulders when she breaths.
My breath hitches when I get a clearer view as I gently proceed further..scared she might disappear into thin air. That's how her stance speaks.. she'd be long swallowed into the wall if it had allowed her to.
Her body went limp against my arms as I picked her up, and draped her over my shoulder. I couldn't even think of showing any semble of softness..it's offensive here.
Hael looked up from her drawing when she saw me entering, her expression turned grim as she saw my companion.
"She looks small.. what happened?" her voice was barely above a whisper as she hastily cleared out the only bed in the cell and helped me to gently lay the girl there. A minute curve graces my lips at how she didn't even hesitate to caress the girl softly, despite being well aware of the cameras eying us from every corner.
" 'The Vault' happened, remember the infamous dead girl? "
The blue of her eyes snap to that of mine at the name, seemingly having the same thought of recruitment, but it's too early to trust this dead girl with the organisation just by listening to some flying rumours.
It's too early to trust the organisation with this small girl.
A light shake of my head pulls her out of her thoughts about it as she kneels down to the bed's level. "Do you think it's just the tranquilizer? "
" I don't know. I don't think the protectors would risk assigning her to a cell without providing her medics. Too much of a risk of criticism is involved with it" I muttered the last part but was still warned under an icy stare of her's. "...but you should still check her out, just to be sure.. I'll go see what's for dinner, it's about time" I continued, looking at an imaginary watch on my wrist as I scurried out of the room to give 'em privacy.
