The Joe Biden and 9/11 conspiracies

This is a recent event. Joe Biden, the Vice President of the United States, recently announced that he's not seeking the Presidency in upcoming election. Well, this generated a bunch of goofy conspiracy theories.

Of course, Donald Trump approved Biden's move because he thinks he has a better chance of defeating Hillary Clinton. So, the first theory is that Donald Trump and/or the Republican Party engineered this Joe Biden cop out.

Some theorists are blaming Hillary for this. She would have faced serious opposition from a Biden campaign.

Mostly, the theories about this are coming from disappointed people, comedians, conservative pundits, and political junkies. The usual bunch of crazies.

Most people consider Joe Biden to be a considerate, genuine, and great man. Many are upset with his decision because they don't necessarily like Hillary. The fact is that Joe considered his options and decided not to run because it's a grueling campaign trail and he is late to the game. Also, he's still suffering pain from losing his son, Beau. He's also a smart politician, and smart politicians don't run if they think they'll lose.

Many will blame Obama for this and claim that he's prepping for taking over the government and doesn't want Joe in the way. Of course this conspiracy theory will not go away until Obama leaves office, and then it will be a ghost conspiracy that will last for quite some time.

I rank this conspiracy theory up there with the idea that 9/11 was predicted in several movies, especially 'Back to the Future'. Add the following to that list: Armageddon (1998), The Matrix (1999), Gremlins2 (1990), Rugrats in Paris (2000), Godzilla(1998), Terminator 2 (1991), Super Mario Bros. (1993),The Patriot (2000), and Traffic (2000). I saw those moves and I don't recall anything that would suggest a prophecy of 9/11.

However . . .
The Back to the Future reference is the Muslim terrorist attack on Doc and Marty at the Twin Pines Mall with the Twin Pines section of the sign eliminated in the attack and several incidents with the digits 9:11 in timers. People have interpreted symbolic references in several scenes in 'Back to the Future 2' to be referring to the 9/11 attacks.

In the 'Gremlins' movie Zach gets into his Volkswagen Beetle with Gizmo. He tunes the radio so that the indicator is between 9 and 11.

In the 'Independence Day' movie when Jeff Goldblum sets up a laptop to watch the countdown, a close up shows 9:11:0.

In the 'Rugrats in Paris' movie, Chuckie's shoelaces get tangled when he tries to dance at a wedding ceremony and he counts with the beat 'Nine, eleven, twenty.'

In the 'Patriot' movie, Mel Gibson weighs a chair he's made and it is nine pounds, eleven ounces.

I think these movie incidents are coincidental. No one can predict the future. Besides, why would Hollywood imbed future terrorist attack references in their movies. However, some people have pointed out that some writers and producers had access to the CIA and FBI. That's a different conspiracy theory.

An Anglican cleric, EW Bullinger, said that the number 9 symbolizes divine judgment and the number 11 symbolizes disorder. Jews fast on Tisha B'Av, the 9th day of the 11th month on the Hebrew calendar. It looks like 9 and 11 are favorite numbers. Sometimes the 9 is replaced with another digit as in the 3/11/2004 terrorist Madrid Train Bombings event.

Despite that, I believe that numerology had nothing to do with 9/11. If the terrorists picked this date based on numbers they are worse than crazy. I don't recall any terrorist organization claiming using those numbers as a pretext to their attacks. However, who knows what evil lurks in the minds of men?
