Old Friends (4)
Peter waited. he waited ten minutes. then twenty. He waited an hour and nothing. He knew Shuri could take care of herself, but Peter couldn't help but worry.
Was she captured? What if she disappeared because she wasn't supposed to exist here?
His worrying was always pointless in the past, sop he decided to look around for her. He went to the New York library, nothing. He went to smaller libraries, nothing. He looked everywhere, asked at least a hundred people. He had nothing. Now he was panicking. Where was she? What was happening? Was she still alive? Did she bite the dust?
He was so nervous, he didn't even process the red masked figure drop down behind him. He felt a fist come in contact with his head, and went stumbling forwards. The teen looked up to see Spiderman with his fist extended. The other masked vigilante sighed. He didn't have time to deal with PP right now.
"Dude, I don't have time for you right now!"
"How do you know who I am?" The other teen demanded, throwing Peter into a secluded alley. He stood up, and decided it was now or never.
"Take your mask off and I'll take off mine."
He could tell the other teen was debating in his head what to do, and came to the conclusion of taking it off. The teen Peter had come across earlier revealed himself.
"Your turn."
The teen pulled the mask off, the eyes returning to normal on the mask, for he had been squinting. PP gasped.
"Your the kid from before. With the girl. And the weird red and black man!"
"Yep, now let me go. I have gotta find something."
"What? I can help you ya know. I am you after all. I know everything about you!"
Peter snorted before asking, "Who do I work for?"
"Easy, J. Jonah Jameson."
"Who?"
PP looked at him with confusion on his face. "you know, head of Daily Bugle. One of the most famous people in New York."
Peter thought about this. "Who is the most famous person?"
"Norman Osborn. Head of Oscorp. His son is my best friend! Sorry, our best friend."
"Nope. Ned Leeds is mine. Oscorp doesn't exist where I am from."
"What! How do you not has Oscorp?"
"How do you not have Stark Industries? Or the Avengers? Do you even have Captain America? I didn't think so."
"Fine, maybe I don't know everything, but I know enough! Let me help you."
Peter thought of this. He was originally going to deny him, but he thought about it. He could use some help. Maybe somebody who knew about this world would help? No, he couldn't drag someone else into this.
"No, I can't. This is my issue. Thank you for the offer. Don't you have school tomorrow? You should get some sleep." With that Peter swung up into the air.
"Wait!" PP followed. He was determined to get to the bottom of whatever was happening. This was his world after all. He wanted to save it.
"I can't do this to you." Peter cringed at the strange comment. It was like in a movie, and he was leaving someone when they found out his dark secret or something else. He sounded like a loser.
"Come on! This is my city! I should be the one to stop bad guys! It is my duty!"
"I can't-" He never finished however, because a purple blast shot past him. He spun around, nearly getting vaporized by the next blast. What he saw shocked him.
A man in mechanical wings hovered above them. He wore an fuzzy jacket despite the weather, and held a large gun. Despite having a mask on, Peter knew exactly who the man was.
"Come one dude! You're supposed to be in jail! Why does no one ever stay put."
"Hey Pedro. Didn't expect me, did ya?"
"Nah, I am just more surprised to see you here. Aren't you supposed to steal Stark tech? Not . Oscorp stuff? Thor that is a mouthful to say. Oscorp. Oscorp. I like Stark better." The teen spoke this in a mocking manner, causing the taller version of himself to groan.
"I bet Oscorp is ten times better than this Stark industries."
Peter snorted in return. "I doubt it."
"Oh no, there are two or you. I guess I'll just have to blast both of you to h-"
"LaNgUaGe!" Peter yelled this while shooting a taser web at the flying villain. The suit malfunctioned for a second, before recovering.
"English," PP replied, looking blissfully at the white and blue webs.
Tombs didn't have time to reply before he had webs hitting his wing engines. One of the engines stopped working, and he fell to the ground. He was angry. Getting out of the now useless wings, he pointed to gun at Peter. The eyes went wide, and he cartwheeled out of the way. Each of the blasts missed, as he transitioned from his cartwheel, to a back handspring, to simpleflips.
"Is that the best you can do?" The teen stood up, his arms open.
Vulture just clapped his hands together, and three new wing sets appeared behind him.
"You just had to ask," the other vigilante replied. The middle wing set attached itself to the villain, as the other two attacked the heroes. The two were occupied by the remote controlled wings, while Adrien flew away.
"No you don't. Droney, follow him." The other teen was confused by the sentence, but his unasked question was soon answered when the spider emblem on his alternate self chest pop up and start to follow the leader.
"That is so cool man! How's you make it?"
The other team grunted as he flipped over his wing set, and in the process, disabling the other suit with a few web grenades. He landed in a summersault, and put in a new web cartridge. PP shot the other wing set with webs and pulled it closer, smashing it. Both were panting when Peter replied.
"I didn't. Mr. Stark did."
"Did he found Stark Industries."
"Nah, Howard Stark, his Dad, did. Karen, show me Droney's cam." He spoke the last part with a finger pressed to his ear. PP didn't see anything special, but a small screen popped up and showed the masked mad man flying through New York City. This continued for a few minutes, before Peter just resorted to sticking a tracker to him and calling Droney back.
"Now what?"
"Now I wait. He had to stop at some point. It's just a waiting game now."
"Well, if you need a place to stay, my place is free."
"Nah, I don't wanna do that to you. I'll figure something out. Thanks for the offer though."
"Ok dude, but it's winter and it is supposed to snow tonight."
The two teens were already shivering. Spiders don't do well in the cold at all, so both were really cold, and it was only going to get worse. Even a hoodie wouldn't do much, and he couldn't wear the suit all night. The thing gets uncomfortable when sitting still for long periods of time.
"Come on man."
The two teens went on to swing back into the city.
