Frida Marigold Pov:

She was gone. I felt her go cold. Clawdia kicked down the door to see Melody as a stone statue and me, with my arms around her neck in a hug. I didn't want to believe she was dead, but there was no antidote, she was gone.

"Oh my god" Clawdia's hand covered her mouth in shock. I could almost see the questions flashing behind her eyes. Probably wondering how Melody got here, but my vision blurred with tears.

"You can heal her Clawdia. Please. She isn't dead yet, you can still save her."

Clawdia shook her head. "No Not dead people. I can't bring them back. I'm sorry Frida, i'm so sorry."

I could barely hear her. I was thinking of all the things Melody had wanted in life. She wanted to be a scientist, she had goals and she had dreams, all were gone. Just like she was. I felt Clawdia's hand on my shoulder as she pulled me away from Melody, who stood, frozen, her sword lowered, she was smiling. I didn't want to say goodbye. So I simply muttered the words goodnight as I was pulled from the room.

Despite everything, she smiled in her last moment. To tell me that everything was going to be ok. But she was wrong. Nothing would ever be ok. Ever.

I would miss her for the rest of my life. I would never find anyone as great as her. Our group had started with five and because of Abigail, it was now only two. That was all. I was lost to my senses. I don't remember how I managed to walk away from the dip in the desert, once I regained my sense I was in school.

It was empty. The students had left. The teachers had left. It was a ghost town. I didn't blame them for leaving.

"I've got an idea" Clawdia whispered to me, she held my hand as I stared blankly at the school. "We can turn this place into a music school, in honor of Melody."

"Yeah. i like that"

I've been through alot in the last weeks, but at least I'm not completely alone, at least I have Clawdia. And i might recover just enough to live a happy life.
