For the rest of the week the gossip still hadn’t let up about the party, and Celeste didn’t know what to do with herself. It was seriously getting to her. Something needed to happen to draw attention away from the party. On top of all that she had still been trying to get her friends to tell her who Nate was. Everything she had done to find out who he was got her nowhere. Her only chance to find out was through her friends and they just weren’t budging. It frustrated her to no end. Why would Hunter tell her what his name was if he didn’t plan on pointing him out to her? Her friends were evil.

The end of the school week came up quickly and she couldn’t have been more ecstatic about it. At least now she would have two days of peace; no more hearing about that damn party and lap dance. There was also the car wash tomorrow, then her dance class after. The latter was what she was most excited about. She had had so much work to do for school this week that she hadn’t had time to get to the little studio.

The final bell rung and Celeste high tailed it out of class and to her locker. Thankfully she wasn’t assigned any work for the weekend. She was tired of having to do school work on the days you were supposed to get a break from school. Maddie was leaning against the lockers when Celeste walked up.

“So what are we doing tonight?” Maddie asked as Celeste put all her books into her lockers.

“I don’t know,” Celeste shrugged. It really didn’t matter to her what they did as long as it had nothing to do with a party. “No parties though.”

“I don’t think there are any tonight because of the car wash tomorrow. Since it’s mandatory for seniors no one wants to risk getting wasted tonight and not showing up tomorrow because of a hangover,” Maddie said. She knew that she was one of those people. There would be no way she’d get out of bed tomorrow if she went out and partied tonight.

“Hey lovelies,” Nina grinned, sauntering up to them. “So, what are we doing tonight?”

“We were just talking about that,” Celeste said, closing her locker and pulling her bag onto her shoulder. “We have no idea what we’re doing yet, but we do know that parties are out of the question.”

“Agreed. Now, let’s head to the diner cause I am starving. We can brainstorm while we eat,” Nina suggested as she pulled her twin and best friend out of the school building.

The girls piled into Celeste’s charcoal gray Nissan Altima. Every Friday since Celeste had gotten her car, the girls all rode to school and back home with her. The drove the short distance to the diner and all got out of the car. The diner was already full of kids from school. It was like the after school hang out in a way. It also helped that ‘Danny’s’ had the best ice cream and milkshakes around. The burgers were also the best ever. Walking to their usual table, they all smiled and waved at Danny, the owner.

Danny was the sweetest man you would ever meet. He knew and greeted all of his customers by name. If he didn’t know you, he made it his mission to. He had three kids and seven grandchildren–none of whom lived in town anymore. His diner was open seven days a week around the clock. If you wanted a midnight snack you knew where to go.

“Hello girls.” Danny smiled setting down three milkshakes down on the table.

Celeste had the Chocolate Banana. Maddie had Strawberry Banana and Nina had the Chocolate and Peanut Butter. Every time they walked into the diner Danny would bring over their favorite milkshakes. For as long as they had been going to the diner they always started off with milkshakes before they delved into Danny’s famous bacon cheese burger and French fries.

“Thanks Danny,” Maddie grinned.

“You’re the best,” Nina nodded.

“Yes, you are. Thank you,” Celeste smiled.

Danny loved those three as if they were his own. They’d been inseparable since the first time they had met all those years ago. Their mothers would always bring them into his diner a few times a week for dinner and breakfast on the weekends. As soon as they were all old enough to go out on their own together they would stop by almost every day after school for a bite to eat. If he ever needed a laugh he could always count on the twins. Celeste had always been the more timid one out of the bunch, although the diner was never quiet when they were here.

When Danny had walked over to no doubt get their burgers ready they girls got to talking about what they were going to be doing for the night. All three had been quietly thinking up plans when Hunter walked into the diner. He said hello to Danny and walked over to the booth the girls were sitting at. He looked around wondering why they were so quiet. They were never this quiet especially at the diner. He plopped down next to Celeste and waited for the girls to notice him. They must be thinking real hard about something.

“I’ve got it,” Nine exclaimed with a huge grin on her face. “Oh, hi Hunter,” she waved, finally noticing him at the table.

“When did you get here?“ Celeste asked; she hadn’t even known he had come into the diner, let alone sat next to her.

“Like five minutes ago,” he replied. “You guys looked like you were thinking real hard about something and I didn’t want to disturb you.”

“Oh, well we were just trying to figure out what we were doing tonight,” Maddie shrugged “So what have you come up with, Ni?”

“Sleep over,” she shouted, drawing the attention of all the patrons in the diner. Celeste and Maddie looked at each other and nodded. A sleep over was a good idea. It may be a childish thing to do, but none of them cared.

“I’m in,” Hunter grinned; what guy can say that he has been to a sleep over with three hot girls? None that he knew that’s for sure.

When they had all finished up their meals they all drove off to Celeste’s house. Aaron was still at work when they got back. For the first couple hours they all just lounged around in the living room talking. When the sun had finally set they all took a shower and laid out a bunch of pillows and blankets on Celeste’s bedroom floor. The girls set off to get some snacks together while Hunter picked out some movies to watch. They spent the rest of the night huddled together watching scary movies before they all passed out on the floor.

Aaron got back home at around midnight and found the four of them sprawled out his sister room floor. He chuckled at the sight of the. It was a big tangle of arms and legs. He knew that by morning someone would have a bruise or two. He turned off the TV and shut the door behind him before heading off to bed himself. He was glad that his sister had such good friends to keep her company while he wasn’t home. Even in their semi-small town, one can never be too safe.

*********************

Morning came around too soon for the four friends. They had forgotten to close the curtains the night before and the morning sun beamed down on their sleeping faces. They all groaned in unison and rolled over in attempt to find something to bury their faces in. They each came in contact with one another; they either got the leg or arm of the other.

“Dammit Hunter, get your freaking foot out of my face,” Nina shouted.

“Get your elbow out of my gut Nina,” Maddie grumbled.

“Both you get your knees off my balls,” Hunter wheezed out.

It took a couple seconds before they were all free of each other. Hunter rolled to his side cupping his family jewels and trying to catch his breath. All the while Celeste sat on her bed trying to muffle her laughter. She had woken up a half hour earlier and untangled herself from her friends. Her brother must’ve had a good laugh when he got home last night and found them. I knew he would have since she did once she woke up and took in the scene on her floor. She wondered if her brother had taken a picture. It would definitely have been a perfect Facebook picture.

“Hey, where’s Cece?” Maddie asked, still rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

“Right there, are you freaking blind?” Nina grumbled, pointing to the giggling Celeste.

“Oh,” Maddie yawned while stretching her body like a cat. “What time is it?”

“Half past eight, we have to be at the school in a half hour,” Celeste replied looking at the time on her phone.

“Crap, we need to hurry,” Nina said, jumping up and running to her bag to get her bathing suit out. She threw Maddie her’s and tossed Hunter his shorts.

The twins made a mad dash to Celeste bathroom while Hunter went to the one in the hall. Celeste stayed on her bed since she had already gotten ready. She had put on her two piece under a tank top and shorts. There was no way she would be stripping down to her bikini today no matter what her friends said. Everyone else can strut around in their skimpy suits, but she would not be one of them. In ten minutes flat, her three friends were ready and they were out the door. They stopped off at Danny’s for some coffee and bagels with cream cheese.

The school parking lot was full when they got there. Almost all of the seniors were already there. Whatever faculty members who had volunteered were giving out orders about what group would be assigned to what stall. The four friends headed over to one of the teachers and were assigned to stall 7. They grabbed their buckets, sponges, soap and towels before going off to the stall they would be working at for the day.

Although it was only a little after nine in the morning the sun was beating down. Just about all of the guys were shirtless and the girls had all stripped down to their suits-all except for Cece of course. She shuddered looking at all the scantily clad girls. Some of their suits looked small enough for a ten year old to wear. She would never understand why guys liked that; Hunter being one of them. He was looking around at all the girls like a kid at Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory; it was safe to say she was grossed out.

By 9:30, cars began to pull in. The car wash was officially on, and for the first two hours the group was hard at work, washing cars, trucks, vans, everything. Celeste and the twins could have sworn that the owners of the cars they washed purposely drove their cars through all the mud puddles they could find before they showed up. Some even looked as if it had been driven through mud all week. Damn, she thought, they were working hard for the money they were earning from the car wash.

At noon it was time for a break. The school had provided lunch, compliments of Danny. He and some of his staff came down to the school and set up a bunch of grills to cook up some burgers and hot dogs. It was like a big ole barbeque in the middle of the parking lot. Okay, not the middle more like the open grassy area right next to it. Once the four of them had gotten their food they settled under a tree. It was way too hot to be sitting in the sun. At least while they were washing cars they had the water to cool down.

“What are we doing tonight?” Maddie asked while taking a bite out of her burger.

“There’s supposed to be a party down at the old field,” Hunter said with his mouth full of chewed up food. Celeste wrinkled her nose at that; she never did like when he talked with his mouth full.

“You all can go to the party. I have a dance class after this and I will not be up for a party. Even if I didn’t have dance I still wouldn’t go, not after last week,” Celeste said, internally cringing at the thought of another party. The only good thing that can come from this party is if someone else does something crazy to draw attention away from the lap dance.

“You are so boring Cece,” Nina grumbled. “So you gave Nate a lap dance at Jay’s party and everyone is talking about it, so what? You need to live a little, a lot in your case.”

“You say that like I don’t have a life,” Celeste said

“You don’t, not really,.” Hunter pointed out

“Just because I don’t like to go out and party every weekend does not mean I don’t have a life,” she huffed; maybe she didn’t have a life, but so what? She liked the way her life was, thank you very much.

“Will you guys stop picking on her,” Maddie grumbled. She was always the one to stop Nina and Hunter from picking on Celeste. She knew they didn’t mean anything bad by what they said. They just wanted her to open up more. She couldn’t always be her shy and timid self.

“Thank you Maddie,” Celeste grinned, knowing that the others wouldn’t say anything more about her lame life.

The next few hours of the car wash went by surprisingly fast. Celeste and her friends were sitting back taking a little break when she realized the time. If she didn’t get a move on she would be late for class.

“Darn it,” she grumbled, jumping up from her perch in the middle of stall 7.

“What?” Hunter and the twins asked, none of them knowing what was going on.

“I have to go, if not I’m going to be late for my class,” she replied whilst grabbing her bag. “I’ll see you guys later,” she called over her shoulder as she ran for her car.

She was glad that she was finally able to leave that car wash. Her fingers looked like they would be forever wrinkled from all the water. She drove over to the little gym and rushed to the locker rooms to change into her dance clothes. All it really consisted of was a pair of yoga pants, and fitted tank top and shoes, which she would probably take off half way through class. As much as she loved dance she couldn’t wait to get the class over with so she could go home and sleep.

*********************

Nate was not a happy person that morning. He really did not want to go to the car wash, but knew that he had too. If he didn’t than he wouldn’t be able to walk in the graduation ceremony. He couldn’t have that, if that happened his parents would be so pissed. He grumbled the whole time he was getting ready. He wasn’t even sure what the hell the car wash was for. He knew that it was some type of fundraiser, but didn’t know what for.

As he walked out of his room a smile formed on his lips as he heard his daughter’s laughter floating down the hall. Nate crept silently toward the kitchen where he was sure he would find his angel. Peeking around the corner he spotted her sitting at the dining table laughing as his dad tickled her while his mom finished up breakfast. In a few quick strides he was next to his daughter and scooped her up. Holding her in the air he spun her around a few times causing her to breakout in laughter.

“Morning baby girl,” he grinned, kissing her cheek.

“Daddy,” she grinned, placing her hands on either sides of his face.

With another kiss on her cheek he put her back in the chair and went to kiss his mom on the cheek. After eating a quick breakfast he literally sprinted out of the house so he wouldn’t be late. This day was going to be a drag. At least there would be something to look at instead of dirty cars. He may have toned down his habits didn’t mean he didn’t look when he got the chance. He wasn’t disappointed. There were barely dressed girls everywhere. None of them did anything for him, but he liked the sight the view they supplied him with. After a full day of washing cars he could finally leave and go home. Well, he thought that he could go home, until his parents called and asked him to pick up Jessica from her dance practice.

Nate was waiting in the parking lot for Jessica to finish up with her dance class. He was a little on edge, just wanting to get home and be with his daughter. He had been so busy with work this week and then had the car wash for the school today; it felt like he hadn’t spent any time with Brooklyn. This had been by far his busiest week in a long time. He had to keep reminding himself that he was doing this for his daughter.

Glancing at the time again he noticed that Jessica should have been done already. Pushing himself off his truck we walked into the gym. The walked down the hall to the little dance studio. The music was still playing and he could hear someone counting, getting ready to start off the routine or whatever they called it. He didn’t care what terms they used; he just wanted to go home already.

He opened up the door not bothering with being quiet about it, since no one would hear it over the loud music. Nate took a seat on one of the benches and leaned back against the wall. This class better be over soon, they were already going on a half hour later than their normal finishing time. He watched as the girls did whatever it was they were doing. Most of the girls in the class were the same age as her sister, some a year of two younger and some around his age.

He knew most of the girls from school. The rest he had seen around town. There was one girl though that he swore he had seen before, but couldn’t place it. He watched the way she moved as she stood in front of the group and couldn’t help but compare her to the girl that had danced for him last week. Every move this girl made had something inside him stirring. This had to be the girl. They way her body moved to the music, the way her hips twisted and swayed. Everything about her screamed to him that this was the girl he couldn’t get off of his mind.

Nate sat there thinking of how he would approach her. What would say to her? 'Oh hey, remember me? I’m the guy you gave a lap dance to at Jay’s party last week.' Yeah, that just sounded stupid to him. He had been so busy over thinking everything that he didn’t even realize that the class was over until his sister came up to him.

“Hello…Nate? Are you okay?” Jessica asked, waving her hand in front of her brother’s face. He had been zoned out for the last five minutes.

“Huh?” Nate questioned, shaking his head “Uh, yeah I’m good. You done?”

“Yeah,” Jess nodded. “Can we go or are you going to sit there and zone out like a weirdo?”

“Shut up, ” he grumbled and walked out of the room. He kept a look out for the girl and couldn’t find her. Walking back out to the parking lot and there she was getting into a dark gray Altima. “Hey, Jess? Who’s that?” he asked pointing to the girl.

“Celeste?” she asked not sure if he was really pointing to the girl who taught her dance class.

“Is that her name? The one with the Altima?” he asked; wanting to know, needing to.

“Yeah, that’s Celeste Taylor, she teaches my class,” Jess replied. All she knew is he better not be thinking that she would help him get to her. Celeste was a nice girl who did not need to have anything to do with her brother. She loved her brother dearly, but she knew he would just be trouble for Cece. “Whatever you’re thinking, stop.”

“What are you talking about?” he asked, climbing into his truck.

“I know you, you’re going to try and get with her. Well, I’m telling you not to. Cece is really sweet and so nice. I do not want you corrupting her.” Jess said giving Nate a pointed look.

“Wait? Did you just sat Cece?” he asked looking over at her so fast that he neck snapped.

“Yes, that’s her nickname,” Jess nodded, looking at her brother confused. How could he not know who Celeste was? Jessica was pretty damn sure that everyone knew who Cece was.

“Cece as in Hunter’s friend Cece?” he questioned.

“Is there another Cece in this freaking town?” Jess asked in a duh tone. Her brother could be really dense sometimes.

“I am going to kill Hunter!” Nate growled.

He had talked to Hunter about the girl who gave him the lap dance. He was the only one who knew it was Nate that had been the guy to receive it. Hunter had to have known it was Cece that had given him the lap dance. Why the hell didn’t he tell him? Hunter was so going to get it from him when he saw him again. It may just be sooner than he thought. On the brighter side though, at least he finally found his mystery girl. He couldn’t believe it was someone that was right under his nose.

Cece? He never would’ve thought it was her. He knew who she was because of Hunter though he didn’t know her personally. He never really got a good look at her since she was always reading. Even tonight he had been too busy watching the way she moved her body to look at her face. Next week he would find a way to talk to her though. It should be easy, girls couldn’t resist him. His bad boy vibes drew them in and his player ways hooked ‘em. Celeste Taylor would be no different. What would he do when he got her though? He would just have to wait and see.
