Chapter 5

"Ry!" Ryan heard Ace's voice from his walkie-talkie, and he returned the call.

"Yeah?" Ryan heard some explosion sound from Ace's side and started to get worried.

"Enemies are breaching in. I repeat enemies are breaching in! You have to be ready for combat now!" Ryan took a deep breath and replied, trying not to panic.

"Roger that! Ace, quickly find me and unlock the seal now!" Ryan heard an affirmative from Ace and released the button for talking, readying himself for combat until he sees Ace.

"Hurry Ace! Here's the code!" Ace quickly took the strip of paper containing the code and keyed in the code quickly. Ryan saw the seal broken and rushed to take the scepter with Ace beside him but was knocked down by a gust of wind conjured towards him.

"Fuck! Who's that?!" Ryan asked as he glanced to his right and Ace followed suit, glancing at his right, and saw an emerald-colored-haired man with angel wings holding his hand out, hurling swirl after swirl of wind attacks at them.

"I don't know but it seems that he is an angel! Ry, watch out! Angel attacks are very potent if hit!" Ryan cursed and dodged an attack coming his way but he was unprepared for the attack coming to his side, getting hit and Ryan coughed, blood splattering to his palm.

"Ry!" Ace teleported beside Ryan and held Ryan up, cursing as the attack came hurling at him and teleported before the attack connected. Ace held Ryan up as he applied healing powers to heal the internal wound and Ryan nodded at Ace in thanks, panting for breath.

"What in the seven hells was that? I thought angels were supposed to be extinct!" Ryan exclaimed and Ace nodded.

"Yeah. I mean my mum told me that angels and demons of this world had been extinct and that the magic that had turned the humans into supernatural shouldn't have turned those humans into angels and demons but apparently that's not the case!" Ryan frowned as he watched the man launch another wind attack toward them, pulling Ace to the side as the attack was about to hit.

"I thought the angels and demons from your world are still alive!?" Ryan yelled over the wind and Ace nodded.

"Yeah, but they have never attacked anyone for over billions of years! Why now!?" Ryan shrugged at the question and glanced at Ace, both knew what they need to do.

"C'mon. We have to get the Sceptre before the enemy takes it!" Ryan nodded and raced to grab the scepter but the same person was there first and took it, smirking mockingly as he sent a blast of wind energy that sent both Ace and Ryan flying.

"The-The fuck?! Is that teleportation?! The power level is so strong!" Ace cursed as he saw the man smirking at Ryan's exclamation.

"Indeed. I am strong that you feel like an ant beneath my feet but don't fret. After all, the master ordered me not to kill you so I shall comply...." The man smirked wider. "But you don't know the full extent of your power.... yet. Especially you Ryan Grace. You have not reached your innate potential and the limits of what you can do both as a mage and a werewolf." Ryan stared at the man, stunned that the man knows his identity. "Yes......I know the true you and I definitely know how dangerous you are in the end, especially with the combined powers of the both of you. You both don't know how strong you both can be...." The man smirked cockily at them, holding a hand for them both. "You don't need the gods, you don't even need Buddha, after all, what did they do to help you? Join me and I will bring you to your potential and together, we can change the world to our image!" The man proclaimed and Ryan looked conflicted whereas Ace slapped the man's outstretched hand.

"Ryan, we don't need his offer! After all, he's just a fraud!" Ace reasoned with Ryan but stopped when he saw a tear falling from Ryan's face.

"Ryan?" Ace questioned softly as Ryan turned to look at him, unshed tears pooling in his eyes.

"He's right, Ace. After all, what did the gods ever do for us, for me? I'm a freak, an abnormality and I had always been the scapegoat of the people. I never wanted to be this, a half-werewolf and a half mage, I never wanted to be homeless, never to be kicked out by guilds all the time, never to be disowned by my parents, never to be bullied by my peers, but there's all for people like me isn't it? To be the scapegoat of the people? To always be blamed for everything even if you didn't do anything wrong? I just-I want to be me but...why does it seem so hard!? Why did god have to make me this way? TELL ME, WHAT DID GOD EVER DO FOR YOU?!?!?!" Ace stared shocked at Ryan's revelation and didn't know what to say because he never knew how Ryan had felt all those times in the academy.

"Ryan...." Ace felt a tear rolling down his eye as he rubbed Ryan's back soothingly as Ryan sobbed, not scared of showing his weakness to the enemy as the man sighed, smiling sadly at them both, thinking about his past.

"I cannot take your pain but I can promise you this, Ryan. I'll never leave you, just like how the others leave you. Hell, I'll never turn my back on you when you need help. You are my best friend and I'll do everything to help you overcome this. I know you can!" Ryan felt warmth in his chest as he nodded, stood up and wiped the tears off his face at Ace's revelation, and glared at the man.

"I won't accept your fucking offer, asshole!" The man growled as he glared at them.

"You will regret it. Oh yes, especially you, Ryan Grace, as your friends will leave you one by one until you will fall into insanity and come begging for mercy but don't expect any mercy from me," The man leaned in to Ryan's ear and whispered quietly with venom in his tone. "it's too late." The man smirked at Ryan and teleported with the Scepter in toe, leaving Ace and Ryan in the museum, each to their thoughts.

Hey guys, sorry for the late update. Had been busy studying for my finals and doing my assignments but oh well. How do you like my little present? Poor Ryan though, and his past and childhood had been exposed a little. I wonder how Ace will deal with this when the time comes, especially with their little crush......😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
