The Scars Within {28}
“Should you be up?” I asked as I entered Lionel’s room. He had been out of the hospital for two weeks already, and was slowly but surely regaining his strength.
Lionel smirked and shook his head at me, his hand on the wall to support himself. “Nope. But I can’t sit in that bed any longer. I’ll go crazy,” he said and motioned me to come over.
I did, and he hugged me and kissed me. I was basically supporting him right now. I sighed and helped him back over to his bed. We sat down together and I kissed him deeply.
“Stop rushing your recovery you dumbass,” I said in annoyance.
“I’m fine!” he said stubbornly. I shoved him back on his bed and crawled on top of him, kissing him deeply. “No you’re not,” I mumbled against his lips.
“Not when your fat ass is on top of me,” he grumbled and I rolled my eyes. “If I hit you, I’m pretty sure I’d break every bone in your body,” I said as I rolled off of him and stood up.
“Look, we need to go to the park tomorrow, okay?” he said with a grin. “Why?” I asked cautiously, not liking the look in his eyes.
“Oh, you’ll see,” he said smugly and kissed me.
“Lionel, what the fuck did you do?” I growled dangerously and he grinned wider. “You’ll see tomorrow EJ,” he promised, folding his hands behind his head.
I sighed in annoyance. “Your parents won’t let you leave,” I pointed out with a cocky smirk. He probably hadn’t thought about that fact. His mom and dad were beyond strict with keeping him confined to his bed to rest.
“My parents won’t be home tomorrow. They both have to work, and I told them you’d come over to make sure I was okay,” he said smugly.
“Well aren’t you a clever fuck,” I said sarcastically, glaring at him. He reached up and pulled my bandana off before shifting and pulling me into his arms.
“Yes. Yes I am,” he said with an affirmative nod. He kissed me and I sighed and rested my head on his shoulder, not entirely sure I even wanted to know what was going to be at the park tomorrow.
“You’re an ass,” I grumbled and he laughed and nodded happily. “Indeed I am! But I’m your boyfriend, so what does that make you?” he asked with a smirk.
“It makes me annoyed,” I said and he kissed my forehead. I glanced at his bad hand. The way his arm had been shattered when he got hit made it pretty much useless. It was bent at a slightly odd position. Lionel was pretty much reduced to one arm and hand.
He had also hurt his knee in the accident, so he basically couldn’t fight for a while. He relied heavily on his speed, which had been drastically reduced thanks to his knee injury. But the doctor said that that would heal and he would be just as quick as before with a little exercise.
I laid and talked with Lionel for a while before going home, taking a shower, and going to bed. The next day, I went to his house and rang the doorbell.
“Thanks for staying with him EJ. Just call me or his mom if you need anything,” Mr. Barrios said with a smile as he let me in.
“No problem,” I said casually and waved to him as he left the house to go to work. I went upstairs and into Lionel’s room.
He threw the covers off himself and slowly stood up. He was wearing shorts and a V-neck T-shirt. I rolled my eyes. “You are so gay,” I grumbled.
“Bisexual,” he corrected and came over, kissing me. “Whatever,” I said with a sigh, taking his hand in mine and slowly making our way downstairs together.
I could see the nasty gash on Lionel’s leg. Most of the bruises had healed by now, but the gash had taken longer and was just beginning to turn into a scar.
I stopped and bent over a little. “Jump on my back. I’ll carry you there,” I said with a sigh. He smirked and hopped on my back. I steadied a little before continuing on towards the park.
“So what’s at the park?” I asked, truly curious. “It’s a surprise EJ. You’ll find out when we get there,” he said smugly, kissing my cheek and wrapping his arms around my neck. He rested his head on my shoulder and I couldn’t help but smile a little.
We got to the park and I let Lionel down gently on one of the benches. I sat next to him and he kissed me deeply and wrapped an arm around my waist, pulling me close to him.
I looked around the park anxiously, searching for anyone I might recognize. What the hell could he possibly have wanted us at the park for?
“Lionel, why are we here?” I asked, quickly growing irritated. I didn’t like it when people didn’t tell me things. It pissed me off.
He reached for my bandana and I nervously ducked away from his hand. “We’re in public,” I mumbled and gently put my hand on it to make sure it was covering what had once been my eye.
I opened my mouth to demand to know what I was here for again, when a voice cut me off and made me freeze.
“Johnny?”
Every bone in my body froze and my blood turned to ice. I slowly turned as Lionel smirked at me. I gulped as my eyes found the owner of the voice. “Dad?” I choked out in terror.
