They Dont Care
Guys.... this is it. I'm finally uploading another chapter. I know, I know, your probably wondering 'where the heck were u?' And to answer your question, I'll put it in a simple way:
I WAS BUSY DROWNING IN HOMEWORK. I legit had 8 quizzes and tests in one week. Are teachers trying to kill us? Anywho..
Since it's been like, 7 years, my writing style and grammar has improved, and I stopped being so weird and cringey. Enjoy my return chapter ~~~~
(Btw, if you forgot what happened, re-read the last two chapters; that should refresh your memory)
I wake up with the bright sun hitting me directly in the eyes. I check the clock which was placed on my dresser, and it read, 9:43 a.m. I groggily sit up straight and stretch my arms. I look down and see Ethan curled up in a ball on the floor. I had flashbacks to last nights fun, and quietly get up. But thanks to my elephant feet, I accidentally step on his hand. He jolts awake.
"OW! Kyra! Watch were your going!" He tiredly yells at me. He rubs his hand gently. I give him a 'sorry' look. Once we are both up and ready, I drive Ethan back to his house.
"What do you think Elijah will say?" Ethan asks me while in the car ride. "What if he's so mad at me, that he never talks to me again?" I snort.
"Ethan, you're over-reacting. He's not going to be THAT mad." I reply. He clicks his tongue.
"When I got temporarily kicked out of the house," Ethan says, "Elijah told me that I should be ashamed for being "deceptive" and "untrustworthy".
"But I didn't really think that you dating Denis was such a big deal. Why did Elijah get so mad?" I question, as we pull up to their driveway. Ethan shrugs his shoulders.
"I don't know. You should go ask him," Ethan says, as he hops out of the car. We both walk up to the door and I ring the doorbell. I notice Ethan fidgeting with his pop-socket.
Man, he must be really nervous.
The door suddenly flung open, and a skinny, brown-haired boy was staring back at us.
"Oh, hey Kyra!" Elijah says. He gives me a playful wave. His eyes suddenly shift over to Ethan. He furrows his brow. "What are you doing here? I thought I kicked you out." I saw Ethan lower his head. I roll my eyes. Elijah was definitely over-reacting.
"Elijah, it's not a big deal. And why do you care so much about such a small thing?" I angrily ask. He looks at me for a second, and then sighs.
"Come on in," He says, as he held the door open for us. I step into his house, and watch as Ethan climbs up the stairs. I guess he was probably going to his room. My gaze was suddenly fixed on Elijah.
"Hey," I say. He looks at me. "Why are you mad at Ethan?" He doesn't speak for a while. Suddenly, he takes a deep breath.
"Well, of course I'm mad that he hurt you. But it's not entirely that. He never told me anything. Not even a single peep. He was always such a self-conscious guy, and maturity always came first. And now he's hooking up with a guy he barely knows? Its absolutely horrid he never said anything; not to you, me, or our friends," He stares at his hands. "We are twins. We tell each other everything." I can tell he is really upset. So, I give him a tight hug. He hugs me back.
"Oh, Kyra," He says, with his face nestled against my shoulder, "what would I do without you?" I start to blush.
No. You are not falling for Elijah.... AGAIN! You were just with Denis. Stop moving on so fast.
I can't help it. Whats not to love about a quirky, hazel-eyed boy? He breaks the hug. I smile at him.
"I think it's time to apologize to him. He's going through a lot right now, and I think he needs the comfort from his brother, and he won't get it if you're ignoring him." I say. He gives me a goofy grin.
"You're right. Thank you, Kyra." He says as he kisses my cheek. My face suddenly turns a bright pink color as he jumps up the stairs into Ethan's room. I touch the cheek he kissed and laugh.
Like I said before, what's not to love in a quirky boy?
Ethan's P.O.V:
As soon as I enter the house, I go upstairs. I hear Kyra and Elijah talking, and they both sound very upset. I jump onto my bed and sigh. I decide to finish some of my geometry homework. After a while, I hear a knock on my door, and it slowly opens. Elijah walks into my room, and sits next to me on my bed.
He's probably here to yell at me.
"Ethan," He starts. I brace myself for the scolding and yelling that is about to come out of his mouth. "Ethan, I'm sorry." Elijah says. I lift my head.
"YOU'RE sorry?" I ask, confused. How was he sorry? I was the one that screwed things up.
"I'm sorry that I didn't support you," he replies.
"Support me?"
"Instead of kicking you out of the house, I should've have helped you. But you need to understand, hiding things from me isn't the best idea."
"I'm sorry. I was scared about how you guys'll act if I told I was dating a.... boy," I respond. Elijah hugs me.
"No one will think less of you." I smile to myself and decide to pop the big question.
"Are you ok with me dating Denis then?" I ask hesitantly. Elijah is silent for a minute, so I start to get paranoid that I pushed the limits. He takes a deep breath.
"I am," He says. My face is immediately lit up. I hug him tight. "Thank you! Thank you!" I race downstairs and find Kyra sitting on the couch watching t.v.
"And where are you off to in such a hurry?" She beams at me. I smile back.
"You already know," I reply, as I put in my jacket and shoes. I hop into Elijah's car and start it, and quickly drive towards my location.
Kyra's P.O.V:
Elijah trots down the stairs happily.
"Did things go well?" I ask him. He nods his head.
"Thank you, again Kyra. Your a life saver." He says.
"I know," I say proudly. Elijah takes both of my hands.
"Listen, I know you just broke up with Denis. But don't you think it's time for a new boyfriend?"
New boyfriend?
"Kyra, I'm sorry if this is too soon, but I want to be more than friends." Elijah nervously says.
"I do too, Elijah," I say. He smiles at me and brings me closer, until our lips touch.
God, I missed this.
We part, and I grin at Elijah.
"Would you like to be my girlfriend?" He asks. I nod.
"Yes," I answer.
Denis's P.O.V:
Ever since Kyra and the others found out that Ethan and I were dating, I haven't heard word from any of them; not even Ethan. I groan and punch the wall in anger.
Why do I always ruin everything?
Have you ever wondered why I moved to Massachusetts in the first place? Well I'll tell you: it's because I couldn't handle the guilt.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
About a year ago, when I was living in Canada, I wasn't exactly the nicest person in the world. Okay, scratch that; I was a bully. I only had one friend: a kid named Max. He wasn't the best influence, which is probably why I started being so mean. But there was one specific girl named Jessie that I always targeted. I've always called her names and shoved her into people and and all that sort of stuff. There was nothing wrong with her; she was a gorgeous and smart girl. I've just always picked on her because Max always did. One day, when we were walking towards home room, I pushed her into the door, which caused her to bruise her forearm.
"What the heck is wrong with you, Denis?" Her boyfriend, Carter, asked. He helped her up as Max and I stood there and laughed.
"You guys are so pathetic, it's hilarious." I laughed, while I wiped away a fake tear. I fist bump Max.
"Denis stop," Jessie shakily said, "please."
"Or what? What you gonna do about it?" I sneered. Max chuckled and threw his arm over my shoulder.
"HEY!" Carter yelled at me. "You can mess me up all you like, but stay away from Jessie."
"Carter, it's not a big deal," Jessie said, rubbing her bruise.
"Throw your best shot at me if you think your so strong." Carter teased. This really riled up my anger.
"Oh, I'll show you," I took my fist, raised and struck him in the nose. Hard.
"CARTER!" Jessie cried. Everyone in home room was looking at us by now.
"Whoa dude. Remember the key rule? We only stick to teasing. Now we are going to get suspended," Max groaned.
I ignored Max and my gaze was fixed upon a bleeding Carter and a crying Jessie.
I did the right thing, right?
After that whole incident, it was true. We got suspended for a few days due to 'violent behavior'. I didn't really think it was a big deal until I came back to school the next day. Max was nowhere in sight, and neither were Jessie and Carter.
Wusses. Couldn't even bother to show up to school to face me.
During lunch I got called down to the front office. Once I got there, I sat down in a nearby seat.
"Hello Denis," the principal, Mr. Luba, greeted me. I waved hello. "So I wanted to talk about your recent actions towards Carter and Jessie." I rolled my eyes. I didn't care about this. I wanted to eat lunch.
"What about it?" I asked. He gave me a stern look.
"Well, I wanted to ask you if you ever consider what happens to the student you tease. Do you even consider their feelings?" I shook my head no. "I just got a call from both Carter and Jessie's moms. Do you even know what happened to them after you physically hurt them?" I shook my head no again. My palms started sweating. I didn't like where this was going.
"You know how you punched Carters nose? His nose is severely damaged and broken," Mr. Luba takes a deep breath, "Jessie wasn't fortunate. She's being hospitalized. Do you want to know why?" I nod. "She attempted suicide. She tried to kill herself because that's how miserable you made her life."
She tried to kill herself.... because of you.
My face turned pale white. A feeling rushed over me that I've never felt before: guilt. I excused myself from the office, and anxiously waited until the school bell rang. Once school was over, I ran over to the hospital, and requested to see Jessie. While the nurse walked me over to her room, I saw Jessie's mom and Carter sobbing in the floor.
I'm too late.
I got I her room, and she lay there, looking lifeless. I go over to the bed, touch her ice-cold hand, and say, "I'm sorry."
I decided to browse through some YouTube videos when I suddenly heard someone knocking my door. I tidy up my hair, and open the door. A familiar boy was standing outside.
"Ethan?" I ask, confused. I thought we had agreed not to see each other after the incident.
"Denis!" He says, clearly excited. "It's ok!"
"What's ok?"
"Us," Ethan says, as his face was beaming strongly.
"They approved?" I ask, still confuse. He nods his head, and moves closer to me.
"They don't care anymore. We can be together," Ethan grabs my hand. Suddenly, it were as if a tiny lightbulb inside lit up. I smile at my lover, and grab his waist. I kiss him passionately and whisper in his ear, "I love you."
