Miami, Florida
Authors note: this chapter is kinda slow, compared to my other tea-filled chapters. I'm sorry, this happens to authors sometimes 🤷♀️ don't judge me 😢
Kyra's P.O.V:
"What are we supposed to pack again?" I ask Jazzy.
"Whatever is necessary," she answers.
Since school has let out for spring break, Jazzy and I had planned a quick getaway with a couple of friends, which includes Jazzy, Ethan, Elijah, Denis, Sub, and I. I was thinking we could go to LA, my hometown. I would love to see how everyone is doing; even though I lost a lot of friends there. But we took a vote and Miami, Florida won. I invited Jazzy to come over and help me pack my bags.
"Let's see... toothbrush?" I ask. Jazzy scrummages through a pile.
"Check!" She responds.
"Extra clothes?"
"Check!"
"Bathroom necessities?"
"Check!"
"Well, that seems to be the most important items on our list," I say, "let's take a quick break." Jazzy nods her head, and we both go downstairs. My parents were at a meeting in London, so I had the house to myself. Jazzy opens my fridge and takes out an apple.
"So, have things been sorted out between Ethan and Denis?" She asks. I nod my head.
"Everything worked out wonderfully," I say.
"'Wonderfully', as in you and Elijah kissing again, and then him asking you to be his girlfriend? (Last chapter)" I giggle.
"I still can't believe I'm his girlfriend,"
"I knew it was going to happen," She smirks. I roll my eyes playfully.
"Anyways, have the rest of the gang started their packing?" I question.
"I'm not sure." She responds. I walk over to my refrigerator and take out a pear and smile to myself. I could hardly wait. This trip is going to rock!

The plane will depart in 5 minutes. Please make sure you have read the safety manual and buckled your seatbelts. Have a nice flight.
The pilot speaks through the speaker. I tighten my seatbelt. I had purposely booked a window seat because I thought the scenery would calm me. I'm going to be honest here; plane rides make me really nervous. Like, 'Wobbly Cheese Legs and Sweaty Palms' nervous. Thank God Elijah was sitting in the seat next to me, or else I probably wouldn't make it. Elijah looks at me.
"Are you ready?" He asks me. I shake my head.
"I hate flying in planes." I say.
"If you get too scared, I'll be here," He says, as he pecks my cheek. I grin.
He's a keeper.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's been two hours, and I've been doing fine. Elijah's head is rested on my shoulder while he sleeps soundly. I stroke his hair, and gaze outside. The clouds look like fluffy cotton balls. It reminds me of my first time flying to New England. Denis and Jazzy were sitting in the row next to us, and Ethan and Sub sat near the back of the plane.
Soon, the plane lands. I wake up Elijah, and grab our luggage. We depart the plane.
"Whew! That was a long flight!" Elijah sleepily says, as we walk towards the baggage area. We currently landed in the international Florida airport, and were about to meet up with a taxi in 15 minutes.
Tell me about it, Sub writes on a piece of paper, while cracking his knuckles and wrists.
We make our way to the luggage collector thing (idk what it's called) and receive our baggage.
"No, we should get a chicken burger!" Jazzy argues with Ethan. We were currently at Jr's Gourmet Burgers in Miami for a late dinner. Ethan rolls his eyes.
"No! That has too many carbs! We should get a normal salad!" Ethan angrily says.
"But the chicken burgers have a 50% discount on each burger," Jazzy annoyingly says.
"Who cares about the discount? Think about the amount of fat in that crappy meat-filled thing!" Ethan yells quietly.
"Considering your weight and body shape, it's BEST if you got something filled with carbs other than eating foods with nutrients." Jazzy fumes.
Sub breaks in and stops the fight. He shakes his head no, and writes a solution to Ethan's and Jazzy's problem. Ethan and Sub would have the salad, and everyone else would have a chicken burger.
"Fine." Ethan huffs under his breath. I mentally face-palm.
Those two have the mental age of a two-year-old.
My Pelopsia was starting to act worse over the couple of days. Headaches happen more often than I want them to. In fact, I had a huge headache right now. I couldn't wait to go to our hotel room.
"After dinner, do you guys want to go see some light festivals?" Denis suggests.
"NO!" I almost immediately respond.
"Why not?" Denis frowns at me.
"Because," I nervously say, "shouldn't we go to our hotel rooms? And leave all the exploring for tomorrow? I mean, I don't know about you, but I'm really tired." I then give a fake yawn. I wink at Jazzy, signaling the problem. She quickly caught on.
"Yeah, Kyra's right. We should take a break." Jazzy agrees with me. I sigh happily. With Jazzy, I have another person to look out for my health. And plus, she's great at lying. Denis shrugs his shoulders.
"Ok, that's fine," he says, "they have light festivals everyday, so we can go tomorrow." We eat our dinner as fast as we can, and head out of the restaurant.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Since the hotel rooms only fit four people (2 beds), Elijah, Jazzy, Sub, and I share a room. Ethan and Denis get their own room to do whatever they want to do.
Once we settle in our rooms, I rush to the bathroom and clean my corrective lenses. My head was aching, but I had to fight through the pain.
Pelopsia is NOT going to ruin this vacation.
I stumble clumsily out of the bathroom and see Elijah sorting through his suitcase. Jazzy and Sub were both helping Ethan and Denis organize their space. I sit on the bed and stretch. Hopefully a goodnight sleep will help the pain calm down. Elijah stops scrummaging through his suitcase and sits next to me, one arm swung across me, gripping my shoulder.
"You're going to sleep already?" He asks me. I hold his hand and smile at him.
"Yeah, I'm not feeling my best right now." I reply. He kisses me gently and hugs me.
"Alright, sleep well. Hope you get better." He says. I kiss him again, and rest my head against my pillow.
"Goodnight, Elijah," I mumble. He strokes my arm.
"Goodnight, baby."
