The Golden Knight - An Introduction
In the early 1940s, Fox Comics published the stories of Richard of Warwick - the Golden Knight. The Golden Knight's adventures took him from a fantastic Europe, through the Crusades to Jeruslaem and even to the moon and beyond! Yes, these stories may sound wild and unfocused; but it was a different time, with different attitudes to entertainment. They were originally the creation of Greg Chapian, who, like many of the creators of the time, is virtually unknown now.
The Golden Knight has been revived as part of Jason Greenfield's 'Earth-F' project. The stories form part of an alternative timeline for the Golden Knight - hopefully one that is more sensible and acceptable to modern readers. There are still elements of fantasy in these new tales of the Golden Knight, but I have tried to impose a bit more logic on them. Consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds, I suppose.
This tale, while it is the third one I have written, is an interlude that takes place during the events of 'Adventures in Acre'. I hope it is to the tastes of my (small) group of readers.
