Let's start with a new chapter today.

"The Chaste Heart"

Roshni's pov

I felt like I was floating in thin air....my locks fumbling with my speed and the gush of air, around me.

Heavy thumping breaths and a hard rhythmic beat kept coming to my ears but I can't seem to point out what it was.

But the warmth that had engulfed me was inscrutable, yet it felt so soothing.

Then I felt I was put on a soft fluffy cloud and a feather like soft silky warm touch came in contact with my ice cold skin and then....

Silence

A complete silence!

I flinch opened my eyes with heavy breaths and saw a very panicked Aadarsh Bhaiya and Adikrit Bhaiya.
(Bhaiya means elder brother, of course I know that you guys know but it's for non hindi readers)

I was in my room, well that was a relief but what were they doing in my room in this early morning.? It is not likely that they walk into my room like this.

I began to speak but nothing came out but a hoarse rasp.

My throat seemed dead and dry.

Adikrit Bhaiya spoke - Easy there Rosh!

He passed me a glass of some warm liquid and gestured me to drink and I did.

What happened? - I asked gulping the air

I should be the one asking you this Roshni! - Aadarsh bhaiya roared

What were you doing in that part of the jungle.? How did you even got out? - he asked and I flinched at his harsh tone

Tears began to flow from my eyes on their own accord. I had never seen him this angry.

Thankfully, Adikrit bhaiya put his hand on his shoulder and he relaxed a bit. His eyes softened when he saw my tears.

Rosh, nightingale! You almost gave us a heart attack!
Never ever do that again!
God forbid, if something had happened to you, I would have died in guilt that I could not safeguard you!
I should be thanking the stars that this officer was there on his duty at that time. - he spoke

Of... Officer? Who? - I asked confused

That's him Rosh! You should be thankful too! - bhaiya said pointing towards a man

A handsome man!

My eyes widened when I saw that person standing in my room. I had never seen that man before....but he looked quite dominating and influential.

His eyes were glued to my face and I felt heated up.

Why was he staring at me like that?
Who was he?

What happened? - i asked again

Do you remember where were you miss last night? - that person asked in his demanding voice

And I just kept staring at his handsome face.!

I quickly averted my eyes when I found him looking at my side with an unknown emotion.

I looked between both my brothers who seemed clueless of my situation.

That person cleared his throat and spoke - Miss Roshni! I am Samar Singh, officer in-charge of the forest area where you were found yesterday.

I narrowed my eyes and then I remembered what I had seen last night!

The Jungle Beast!
Or more precisely, The Scarlet Legend!
The Ferocious Singha!

The legend from the local folklores!
But, how was that possible?

Isn't he just a Myth!?!

My eyes widened at the realisation and I began to sweat again!

Bha... Bhaiya! I.... S.... Saw him! - I stuttered in fear

What? Who did you see Rosh?
What are you saying? - Aadarsh bhaiya asked

Why do you look so fearful Rosh? What's happened there? - Adikrit bhaiya asked this time

I.... I wanted to tell him... But words were not coming out of my mouth and on top of that, the officer present here was throwing me daggers!

Why?
Absolutely no clue!

I... I... Saw the Legend! - I panted

Legend..?? What are you talking about Roshni? - bhaiya asked without a clue

The one grandma keeps telling us....the Jungle King, the Singha!

I heard that officer's bones cracking and his eyes were stiffening at my words.

What??? Roshni?? Legend?? Are you even real???
Baby, you hit your head... You were unconscious...may be it is just your imagination. And on top of that grandma and her stories has been playing with your mind! - Adikrit bhaiya spoke holding my hands

Bhai.... I... I am telling you all...the...Tru...Truth....But I was cut short by that intimidating officer.

What do you remember from that area? I mean.. How did you reach there? It's quite deep in the Jungle!
Not everyone is aware of the trails.! What were you doing there at that point of time? You do know that is breaching the laws! - he demanded

I... I was just...may be I needed fresh air!
So I was on my own... That's it! And then I saw it!
It was huge and so fast!
It killed the poor baby deer in front of my eyes, without a mercy! - I replied keeping my head low with tear filled eyes

Rosh, you must be thinking something else! - Aadarsh bhaiya spoke

Trust me bhaiya, I am saying the truth it was ferocious! - I spoke firmly

That officer sighed and looked me into my eyes and spoke - It must be just any one of those Wild Lions miss! That's how they hunt!
Now, Take this as a last warning miss Roshni! You were lucky, we found you!
You should not roam around the forest, especially the forbidden Areas!

And with that he walked out and I noticed how exceptionally tall he was. His built was massive and he looked no so common!

Aadarsh bhaiya patted my head and spoke - No more roaming around the jungle area Nightingale!

And I pouted.

Nobody believes me!

But I know what I saw!

Someone In The Jungle

These mighty Himalayas and it's charms have been our Home for centuries.
One voyage to the mountains and it's dense forest and you will not stay the same, always waiting for another trip back to its mighty folds. But then, I am not allowed to come out in open so much.
No matter what I am...who I am...i am not allowed to brace it's beauty!

Not until I have her with me!

Himalayas have always been much more than a just a fancy to me.
The common men have no ideas about its unimaginable secrets and those fantasies.

Not only our home is considered the abode to Gods, the Himalayas also have several myths and beliefs as bizarre as the existence of yetis, the giant half-human snowmen....and Me!

I am one of those secrets of these mighty mountains, who has to protect its secrets with my own life.
But knowing all those secrets, I am yet not allowed to see it for myself and that sometimes frustrates me.

But today was different!

As today, I was allowed to become a witness of its beauty in my real form, which was quite rare...there was danger but I didn't care as who can challenge the mighty powers that I possessed!

I climbed to the sky high cedars, jumping from one branch to another, I suddenly felt the urge to hunt!

I couldn't help myself... It is my nature!

I am bound to hunt in my real form, it is just a way of mother nature to balance the ecological system!

And after running for miles, I heard a soothing heart beat.
I tried to get a whiff of that alluring scent and my eyes glowed.

It was a deer!
And it was my prey now!

My eyes were focused on my prey and my beast was sharpening it's canines and it's claws and paws.

I watched it from far... And it looked unprepared and that was the exact time, I decided to jump on it.

And I did!

But the very next moment, I was alarmed!

Because, apart from me, there was someone else present too!

She was Here!

But how did I not feel the presence?
I have been gifted with an extraordinary Olfaction.

Then, How can She be shielded?
Why can't I feel her presence, every time she is in front of me?

I watched her trembling in fear but her alluring scent caught me off guard. She was irresistible for my Beast.

Without thinking much, without realising that it was forbidden for me, I began to walk towards her and she...like everyone began to stumble back.

She was trembling like a leave in the thunderstorm...but all I wanted to so at that time was to get a whiff of her.

She was the Chaste Heart!
Away from lewd and any kind of salaciousness.
Although it was unbelievable but it was equally no wonder that she was Shielded against my powers!

My beast wanted to be with her forever but my heart sank when I saw her joining hands in front of me as if she was begging me to leave her.

I looked at her tear filled eyes....and That pain....it was excruciating!

I decided to head back but before I could do anything, she fainted but I was quick enough to save her from kissing the patchy ground.

I touched her ice cold cheeks and growled in pain... Which must have alarmed my dear friend as he was there within few seconds.

When he saw the beauty in my arms, he smirked but I glared my scarlet eyes at him as this was not the time for mischiefs.

We have to safeguard her from every danger that has been roaming around just to target her.....atleast till the time she becomes Mine!

There is no way in this whole earth that I am going to endanger my sweet little Nightingale!
