"The Heart to Heart Talk"

The castle was surrounded by smoky clouds and The Deer was Gone long back!

Roshni was mystified about what was happening around her. Every eyes looked at her in gratitude as if she was their caregiver.
She gulped and felt self conscious. It was beyond her explanation that she literally healed a wounded deer.

She watched her palm again and again, now the heat and the shining diamonds have disappeared. She was lost in her thought when she heard Lakshmi, Adhikshit's mother call out for her -

Roshni can I speak with you beta?
Alone?

There was something in her eyes that Roshni felt like going with her as she knew she might be the one to answer all her queries.

Roshni nodded and instantly the other singhas and crowd dispersed, leaving alone with Lakshmi.

Follow me Roshni! - spoke lakshmi as she walked to another wing of the castle

She gestured Roshni to sit by her side and held her palm in her and spoke -

Did you see what happened back there?
Do you know what does that mean?

Roshni shifted in her place not sure what to say to this motherly figure who has been so kind to her. All her life whatever motherly love she had was only in her faint memories. So having lakshmi around her, kind of gave her some comfort.
Lakshmi smiled and said -

You are Gifted Roshni!
I am glad we found you!
Child, Would you give my Son a chance if I told you about what happened back there?

Or if I told you about mates? - lakshmi asked reading roshni carefully

Roshni met her eyes and remained calm, not opposing her questions. Lakshmi smiled at the young girl and began -

I want to first begin by apologising to you Roshni. I know it is really hard for you to accept the reality.
It's not something that happens everyday.
And the pain of getting separated from your family is unbearable, but I want you to see the Bright side of it!

You have a new family of your own now! We are all here to support you in every aspects of your life.
You have a mate to yourself who would happily die for you if you would ask.

Let me tell you about mates -
A mate is someone, who are our destined soulmates and they are chosen by the Goddess Parvati herself. We Singhas can not change our mates, we are bound to each other till our last breaths or may be more. We Singhas can feel each other in every ways possible. In fact we can most of the times, read our mate's mind too.
And once we are bonded with our chosen mate, we live for each other and together contribute in the progress of our Prides.
A male singha is usually allowed to claim his mate when he is 18 but we royals are a little different than the rest as we have larger responsibilities towards our prides. So, a Royal Singha is destined to find his chosen mate only when he turns 25, under the blessings of an Eclipse.
He may find his mate before, but he can not claim her before the Eclipse.
And Adhikshit did the same.!
I know you are angry with him for taking you against your will but fear not, I have raised my son well, he will never force you.
Yes, we do have a rush in our bloods and we can't really control our emotions in front of our mates, but I can see that Adhikshit is trying very hard. But obviously he is all possessive about you when his Singha dominates his body.
And so, he might do things you would not approve of in normal situations but like I said, he will never cross his lines.

And then, there is us!
We all accept you with our open arms and Heart. I am not saying we can give you the same love that you received from your brothers, but I can assure you it won't be any less.

And I am not asking you to give him a chance because I am saying so, take your time and decide.

But for the time being, just be with him?

Don't just go against him, because you think he did wrong to you!
Think from his point of view, as the prides future king, he has heavy responsibilities on his shoulders and only his mate can ease his tasks. Together, they can use their powers to make the Prides strong and safeguard the valley!

Can you do that? - lakshmi asked hopefully

I saw your healing powers, and I must say you are indeed special!
Adhikshit is really lucky to have you by his side!
A lot of lives here in our prides, depend on your powers roshni!
These members already worship you, and you have some responsibility towards them, whether you believe it or not!

Please, Give them a chance Roshni.

I did the same when I was claimed.! - she spoke hopefully

Realisation hit Roshni and her eyes widened. She licked her lips feeling hell nervous but asked -
So, you are a Human too!?!

Lakshmi smiled at her question and replied - I am a half Human!

My father was a Singha whereas my mother, she is a Human!
But she never accepted me or my father. When she found out my father being a shifting jungle lion, she left us behind!
My father then took me here and since then this is my Home.

Being raised up in the valley amongst the prides, My situation was not as tough as yours but I had my struggles too.!

And then I was destined to be mating with Vijay. I was not very fan of his short temper and Strictness, But luckily, Singha king had been kind to me.

Our Bond was strong and that is why in no time we both fell in love!

And look where we are today! - Lakshmi spoke softly

Trust me Roshni, we are not that Bad!
I am not forcing you to accept everything but I am suggesting that you certainly can think about giving my son a chance! He is a kind hearted person! - she added

D....do you get to meet your mother and other family that is Human, outside this prides? - asked roshni watching Lakshmi carefully

Why would I?
She was the one who didn't accept me and my father, just because I was different! - Lakshmi spoke in a cold tone but what she didn't know that Roshni saw the Shakiness of her eyes

A..Aunty! You should let go of past...may be she was not ready for it?
May be she didn't want such mythical entity as her partner.
You should forgive her!
May be she is out there, somewhere struggling at her old age!
Don't you think you should let of past and give her a chance? - Roshni spoke her heart out

She did so many wrong things to me and you still want me to forgive her? I almost lived without the love of a mother despite having one.
Your thoughts amaze me Roshni!
And yet here you are, not even considering living with my son, your own mate! - Lakshmi replied calmly

Its different aunty! He dragged me into these woods, never to be seen in the world outside this jungle....its....a very big price you are asking....i don't want this... All I want is my loving and caring Brothers and my lunatic Grandma! - roshni spoke dreamingly

Lakshmi knew the turmoils Roshni waa going through, so she let her be.

I....I should go now probably! - roshni spoke not meeting her eyes

Take your Time Roshni, but do give him a chance!
It's a Request from a mother! - she heard Lakshmi say but she continues walking away as if she didn't want to let those words reach her heart

She did not like the idea of everyone trying to pair her up with Adhikshit, just because they think she was his chosen one.

The day passed and Roshni hardly had reached inside the comforts of her room, when she was back hugged by strong muscular arms.
The heat radiated through her back and the familiar scent filled her brains.

You got your first Power!
I am so happy for you Roshni! - adhikshit spoke inhaling her scent through her honey locks

L.. Leave me!
What are you doing? - she stuttered

I can't!
My lion wants you, his mate! And he is so happy to know that his mate healed a wounded deer!
So, let me show some gratitude! - he replied flatly

I.. I don't need anything from you!
Just leave me Alone Adhikshit! - spat Roshni

You don't know what you do to me, when you say my name Nightingale! - adhikshit replied chewing the soft skin of her neck

Roshni shivered under his teeth and she unknowingly clutched his arms and Adhikshit let out a soft growl.
He was loosing his senses with each passing day as the potion was making the bond stronger. Even though he could nit read her thoughts, he could feel the attraction.

Love, why is it so difficult for you to accept me?
I will love you with all my heart and soul!
I will love you till the Sky is above us! - he spoke with a longing in his raspy voice

I... I don't want this!
I wanted a simple life adhikshit a...and not some fantasy fairy tales.
I want to live a normal life and fulfill my dreams... Why do you keep asking me when you know I won't give in! - Roshni replied

You will Love me Back, Nightingale!
Trust me, and that day will come real soon!
There is no Roshni without Adhikshit!
And so there is no Singha without his Sherni! - he spoke determined

I... I will never love you!
And I will be never be your soul mate! - she replied bravely

His hold on her waist tightened and he growled -

I am not giving you a choice here Roshni!
Loving me is your Destiny!

The sooner you make peace with it, the better it is!

Sta...Stay away from me you Monster! - she tried to be strong and struggled to come out of his hold but nothing helped.

Can't help it Now, my Queen!
The moment I got a whiff of your alluring scent....and our eyes met....You Became Mine! - he said sniffing near her neck

And now that I have you marked...my Beast will not be able to stay away from Feasting on your enchanting Beauty! - he added dangerously low

Stop your nonsense...!!!
You are Insane! - Roshni glared

By this time, Adhikshit's lion was dominating him and so he roared -
This is no nuisance my Queen!
Monster or Not...you are meant to be Mine!

And his eyes again glowed of Scarlet!

Why are you doing this??? Please let me go!!! I wouldn't tell anybody about your truth! And I will leave the valley also, if that helps you! - she begged

He turned her around and roamed his eyes all over her milky body and smirked - Tsk Tsk...Do you really think I care two shit about my identity with your hollow threats!?!
I don't care who you tell about my truth, you are my mate and nothing can separate you from me!
And don't even think about something stupid like a escape!

Now, be a good girl and get ready to be my Queen! We have to real soon complete other rituals too, especially we have to mate with each other! - he snarled

I will never be the queen of a Monster like you! And I will never mate with you...or whatever shit that is! You are noone to me, did you hear me?
No one! - roshni shouted

He twisted her arms backwards and spoke - Listen carefully Roshni, I will only repeat this last time, Even before You were born, you were already destined to be Mine!

So, don't test my patience or I know other ways to mate with you!

Because, You Are Mine till death do us apart! - adhikshit said darkly licking her neck

He was totally possessed by his Singha and he didn't know he was only freaking his mate more.
The sudden audible sobs of Roshni brought him back and he sighed.

Roshni, it's better you accept your identity and work with me to build up the Prides!

Or, it's going to be Tough for You! - he spoke deep boring his scarlet eyes into her almond ones

Now, go to sleep because tomorrow our purohits are going to announce our date!

Our official day to be announced as King and Queen!
Also as a Mating couple!
So, it's better you sleep well these few days, because I am not letting you sleep for weeks, when we mate! - he said chuckling, putting a frowning roshni to the bed

What's a mating couple? - she couldn't help but ask

A mating couple is like Husband and Wife, my Nightingale! - replied adhikshit tucking a rebellious lock to her ears

What???
How can we be Husband and Wife, without a marriage??? - Roshni asked shocked

Marriage is just a few mantras Roshni that binds two human together, whereas with us Singhas, we have the marking! And I have already marked you! - replied Adhikshit tracing the mark of his teeth on her skin

Roshni didn't know what to say any further...with each piece of information she got, she realised she was trapped!

Sleep tight my Queen!
I shall see you tomorrow! - adhikshit spoke kissing her forehead and walked out of the room

Whereas Roshni knew there was not going to be a minute that she would sleep tonight.!

So, our Singha going all possessive and expressive towards his Roshni!
