*After 3 hours of misery for Mirabel where her only comfort was petting Gabriela's fur Mirabel finally saw those pearly gates*

Swanson:that will be all for today may you all have a blessed week

*Slowly the crowd left leaving only the madrigal sisters and the Marston family with reverend Swanson*

Swanson:alright Isabela come to my office so we can talk in private

Isabela:ok let's go Mirabel

*Isabela tried to grab Mirabel's hand but Mirabel dodged it flicking isabela's forehead*

*Mirabel gave a look that only a mother could give so Abigail was proud of her. Isabela squirmed in her gave as she followed reverend Swanson to his office, Mirabel took a huge breath of relief, turned around and walked away with the Marston family and Gabriela following slowly behind them*

*Gabriela yawned giving out a whine as she yawned, she lied down on the soft church red carpet*

*Mirabel said interrupting Abigail who was getting red with anger, Mirabel helped Gabriela on the wagon and grabbed hold of the poles*

Mirabel:now if you'll excuse me i need to take Gabriela do the vet

*John walked up to Mirabel and inspected Gabriela up and down*

John: something wrong with the wolf?

Mirabel:yeah she lost her appetite over the last month I think she might have a bug in her stomach

*John hummed petting Gabriela's head being just about the only canine he actually likes*

John:want some company? While there?

Mirabel:we both know Charles sees me as a little sister he'll probably be close around if I need any help but thanks anyhow

*John nodded in understanding and Abigail walked up to the two scared people in her life*

Abigail; alrighty then you know where we live if you need anything you know how jack loves it when you come around

Mirabel:no I think he loves it that I'm always fighting you since you don't have me whipped like your husband here. Not that I think about it are you sure those scars are from wolves and not from your wife using her whip?

*Abigail snorted putting her hand over mouth as john playfully pushed Mirabel's head*

John;very funny you little shit

Mirabel:oh dear cursing when your still in the stairs of gods house? Tsk tsk tsk that's gonna cost you when you go home

*Mirabel left with a smirk as she heard John groaning to Abigail's complaints, Mirabel heard Gabriela whining behind her and she looked at her with a small smile*

Mirabel:I know you hate the vet but it's necessary, he'll just give you a few shots and you'll be as good as rain you'll see

*Gabriela huffed resting her head in her paws looking at another direction her eyes semi opened as she yawned while Mirabel kept walking*

Mirabel:oh don't be so dramatic, your not that old girl, your practically still a puppy, at least you certainly act like one

*Mirabel said snickering hearing Gabriela huffed insulted by what Mirabel just said, it made Mirabel snicker to her best friend. After a while they reached the vet and walked inside*

Lily:ah Mirabel hello, And Gabriela how's the baby of the town doing?

*Lily petted her and Gabriela barely moved her tail*

Mirabel:as you can see not so well, I think she's caught a bug in her stomach or something

*Lily said petting Gabriela all over with a soft smile Gaby being her favorite patient*

Lily:oh that's a shame but don't worry you know Mateo is the best vet in town

Mirabel:pretty sure he's the only vet in town

Mateo:you know I can hear you Both gossiping about me, keep it up and I'll charge you double

*Mateo said walking out of the medical room, Mirabel rolled her eyes looking at him and his doctor coat a large burly set man in his 50 with a thick beard and some white strands of hair on his sides*

Mirabel;please with all the herbs, roots and other plants I give you and doctor Ramirez for your patients you'll never do that

Mateo:Uhu come on let's go to the back so I can check my favorite patient

*Mirabel nodded and wheeled Gabriela deeper inside, Mateo grabbed Gabriela and gently lifted her to the table, he started to check on her*

Mateo:and she hasn't been eating? Not even the food I recommended?

Mirabel:no she just looks at the food eats a little and leaves It on her plate. All she's been doing lately is sleeping

Mateo:hm... Tell me how old is Gabriela?

Mirabel:how old? Well I don't really know she was already a young adult when we found each other I'm 17 now so that was....I want to say 10 maybe 11 years ago, so what are you gonna give her? Maybe some roots or flowers to give her more energy?

Mirabel:o..or like some herbal medicine I can get it for you it's no problem

*Mateo gave Mirabel a look of sympathy but mirabel just shook her head no refusing to accept the reality of the situation, it was just Gabriel's time*

Mateo:.....

Mirabel:is it money? You know I have more then e...

*Mirabel flinched as meteo places his hand on her shoulder, Mirabel start to feel a lump on her throat as tears start falling from her face*

Mateo:Gabriela is an old wolf they normally only live 10 years she must be at least 18 by now. You've done a great job taken care of her but there's nothing we can do except make her comfortable In her final moment's

*Mirabel's pupils became as small as can be dialating at the news, she couldn't accept, she wouldn't accept it*

Mirabel:no...i...i don't accept that!

*Mirabel said harshly slapping the vet's hand away glaring at him. Mateo remained firm seeing this too many times to count*

Mirabel:there's a forest full of demons and exotic plants there's has to be something that can help her!!

Mateo:ok. Let's say you find something that can help her ageing bones or her liver that's slowing down to the point it barely works anymore without pills. Mirabel look at her, look at her!

*Mateo said sternly as Mirabel looked at Gaby, they're was no denying, no pretending, Gaby was old, too old for a wolf that lives in the wild*

Mateo:what are you buying her? A week? Maybe a couple of months at most where she'll be in pain? Is that what you want? She's 18 years old she wasn't going to be with you forever, it's time, Mirabel it's time...

*Mirabel started to furiously rub her eyes but the tears didn't want to stop falling, mateo walked up to her and hugged her as Mirabel started to breath unevenly hiccuping even*

Mirabel:I don't want to lose her...

Mateo:I know you love her but it's time to let her rest, she won't feel a thing I promise you she'll go in peace,

*Mirabel only nodded as the vet went to his desk to look for the needles. Mirabel looked at Gabriela who was whining looking at her she hated when Mirabel cried, Mirabel forced a smile on her face and hugged her*

Mirabel:hey hey I... I'm ok girl, I'll.... I'll be ok...i love you...

*Gabriela licked Mirabel's cheek which made Mirabel close her eyes shut as she quietly wept. Mateo came back and in a few shorts moments Gabriela was gone leaving this world gently in her sleep*

Mateo:I'll give you some privacy

*Meteo left as soon as he did Mirabel fell to her knees not letting go of Gabriela as she cried loudly, there's nothing that could be done, no words that will make any of this any easier, Gabriela is dead, her best friend, the companion she had for more almost a decade was gone and nobody could make Mirabel feel better, quite the opposite Mirabel just cried more and more loudly as she refuses to stop hugging Gabriela's body *
