Why..? [8]
Izuku POV
"Izu?" Hitoshi mumbles tiredly behind me. I turn away from the window and face him. "Yeah, Toshi?" I say quietly. "How do you feel 'bout goin' back to school?" he whisper asked. "Not horrible. Why?" I ask softly. He walks over and hands me a blanket. "Just wondering." he said. I nodded and took the blanket. "Wanna steal Dad's coffee?" he asked with a mischievous grin. "Hell yeah." I muttered.
We slowly and quietly made our way to the kitchen. When we get there, we see Dad talking to someone on the phone. Before we got spotted, we hid behind the counter and eavesdropped on his conversation.
"No! You can't just take him."
"Take who babe?" a tired Hizashi mumbled while walking over to his hubby.
"Izuku isn't going into the foster care system!"
"What?"
Me and Hitoshi just stared at each other. Neither of us wanting to accept it, we kept listening just to make sure.
"We already said we could take him."
"That kid can't go back to that house hold."
"I don't care about what his so called father said, he isn't going back."
"How long?"
There was a long pause. "Fine. But, if something happens, he is going right back to us."
"They seriously aren't letting someone take you. Are they?" Hitoshi mutter, clearly shocked. "I.. I don't know." I said, scared of what house hold Aizawa is talking about.
[3 hours later at lunch]
Hizashi POV
"We aren't seriously letting him go back, right?" I asked, panicked. "We have to. Apparently, that bitch of a father said that if anything happened to him, Izuku would stay with his wife." Shota said, still upset. "How do we tell him..?" I asked softly. "Sho, he just started to trust us.." I added. "I know Zashi." he said before pulling me into a hug.
Hitoshi POV
"Kids! Lunch is ready!" Dad called out. I looked over at Izuku to see him in a blanket burrito. "It's time to eat." I said to the greenette. "Not hungry." he mumbled. I looked at him, concerned. "Okay. I'll bring you some food later then." I said quietly. He didn't respond. I sighed sadly and left the room. I went to the dining table and sat down. I ended up having an intense staring contest with the plate of food in front of me.
"Toshi. Where's Izuku?" Papa asked. I just shrugged and picked at my food. "Hitoshi. Where is Izuku?" Dad asked. "In our room." I muttered. "Where's Eri?" I asked. "She's taking a small nap." Papa said quietly. "Is he not going to eat?" Papa asked. "He said he wasn't hungry." I mumbled. "Can you get him please? We need to talk to him about something." Dad whispered. I hesitantly nodded and left.
I came back down with Izu following me. We sat down next to each other. "Izuku. Bud. We need to tell you something." Dad said quietly. "I know." the shorter boy next to me mumbled. "How?" Papa asked. "We over heard Dad's conversation this morning." I explained. They just looked back and forth between us. "Izuku. Tsukauchi said how you have to live with your Dad's wife.." Papa said sadly. Izuku just stared at the table. "Okay." he said blankly. "How long?" I asked quickly.
"Until we can properly adopt him." Dad answered sadly. I then stood up, fast and slammed my hands on the table. "How could you? You promise him a home, then you just get rid of him!" I shout. "Hitoshi It's not that simple." Papa said quietly. "Toshi. It's okay." Izuku muttered. "No it's not!" I protested. "Really. It's okay." he said looking at me. That broke me. The fact that he is just going to let it happen. "Izuku. I promise. As soon as we can, we are going to get you back." Papa said looking the broccoli boy in the eyes. "I believe you." he whispered.
Then a loud knock was heard. I got up and walked over to the door. I opened it to find a red head lady and a brunette haired man. "Hello. We are here for Inko Midoriya." the lady said with a cold tone in her voice. "There isn't an Inko here." I said. "I know there is." the woman said looking me in the eyes with a harsh stare. "Dad! Papa! Strangers are at our door!" I called out loudly. Papa and Dad walked in, followed by Izuku. "They said they are looking for Inko? Who's that?" I asked. "Just give us my kid please." the lady said impatiently. Izuku popped out and stared at her.
"Come on Inko. We're leaving." the red hair lady said. He nodded and gave me a quick hug. I hugged back. He then whispered, "Wait for me. Please?" he said. I nodded and promised. He pulled back and went over to Dad and Papa. They had a quick hug before letting go. Dad whispered something to Izu before letting him go. "Bye.." we all mumbled.
He looked back and smiled sadly. He waved and followed the strangers.
