"Ara," her mother yelled. "Come back to the house! There's work to be done!" 

"Coming, mother." Ara sighed. She never had any free time to think. Her parents never wanted her to be alone for fear she would start thinking about being a wizard again. She wished her parents would encourage her instead of discourage her but apparently they were too stuck in their ways to believe a girl could ever do anything great. 

She started walking back to the house, grabbing the basket of mushrooms she had been picking before her mother called her back. 

"Here, mother." She said as she placed the basket on the wooden table. 

"Thank you, now, go bring me some wild strawberries and we will start with the jam preparations."

Hey guys, sorry, the chapters will be shorter and they will be few and far between, but I am going to try to finish this book! I hope you enjoyed the little bit of this chapter and I promise it will get more exciting soon!  Also, the pic up above is of Ara...
