Nyah, Ok. There is No Drama in This Today!

-Roman

The door swung open with a creek and in it stood two figures.  One was wearing a blue shirt and a sweatshirt of some type tied around his shoulders and was carrying most of the items. He walks in and drops everything to the floor, disturbing the dust present and making it fly up. The human coughs and looks around.

" Patton, please do not just throw all our items on the floor." In walks in a man with a prince outfit complete with a red sash and metals. He was only carrying one item to his side. He gently placed down the bag he was carrying and let the coat that was hanging off one shoulder lay on top of his bag. " Patton! This place is brilliant! Can't you just see it? We can clean up the fireplace, place a new table there, a flat-screen there..." The princely figure was pointing out every place he was talking about. He was going on and on like he could picture everything he was saying and making it sound so easy to clean up this place.

" Well, sonny, you know we also have to place down new flooring, paint, maybe replace some wallpaper, it's not all going to be easy. Plus Roman, we have to clean this place up first. There is dust everywhere... And is that a spider!" Patton runs behind the prince figure known as Roman.

"No Patton, that's just more dust." He frowns at Patton's reaction and picks up his bag once more.  "Let me place my items in my room and we can bring in the rest of the stuff. " Roman takes off and inspects every room. He was trying to find the biggest room that also didn't take the most work to fix up. He pushes on a door that easily swings open with barely a touch. Inside was already a king-sized bed with a window right behind it that was the size of the bed itself. He stepped in and looked around. The closet caught his eye and he opened the door. Inside were broken beams and the light didn't turn on, in reality, it was actually broken. Roman still walked inside and noticed it was a high walk-in closet that just needed to be cleaned up a bit. " I claim this room!" Roman yells down the hall.

Patton could hear Roman all the way in the "living room". Patton brought in the rest of their boxes and placed them in designated rooms. He picked up a broom and started to sweep, displacing all the dust and broken prices on the floor. This would be a long process to even make this place presentable for them to move in.

Patton took a rag and sprayed some wood cleaner on it. He looked at the table, then drenched the rag in the cleaner. It would need a lot. He started to scrub at the table when he looked at the dust. " Roman! Come here!"

Roman came running in thinking it was an emergency. He skidded to a halt and looked around like he was looking for trouble. He saw Patton by the table and walked over. " What?" he said in a disappointed way.

" We may have to set traps or something." Patton pointed to the table and there were footprints in the dust.

" Of course we need to Patton. You think in an old house like this there are no rats, mice, or creepy crawlies?" Roman smacked the air dismissing Patton's allegations.

Patton looked at the footprints curiously. They just didn't quite look like a mouse left them. In his mind, they looked like small footprints, but what could leave those?

Patton looked up when he tried to grab hold of more wood cleaner and caught movement out of the corner of his eye. He abruptly looked up and just missed as a shadow flew passed and went into the wall. " Roman! Do you mind getting those traps? Like now"

Time skip-1 month

By now Roman and Patton had renovations started. In the first few days of being moved in Patton and Roman threw out all the broken furniture. Roman worked on cleaning up and making the salvageable furniture presentable. Patton went around with a broom for a few straight days just to get all the dust and debris out of the house, according to Roman he couldn't help because it would ruin his white shirts. Patton and Roman started picking specific rooms in the house and decorating them and redoing the paint, and sometimes the floor. After a month they have not made the home perfect, but it was livable.

With all the renovations happening at the home, Virgil and Logan had to keep improvising. There were either strangers or the owners themselves coming in and out of the house at odd times. According to Logan, he learned the two humans' names from all the paperwork the loud one just left laying around. Logan made sure he studied the actions of both Roman and Patton. Right now everything was hectic and unsteady, but Logan learned Roman went to things called play practices about 4-5 times a week. He would be gone from 3:00 to 8:00, sometimes even later. The one called Patton would leave for a time to visit people because he was quote on quote "bored sometimes". When Logan heard this he rolled his eyes. Borrowers couldn't be bored. They didn't have time to be bored.

This gave Logan and Virgil some time to venture out, but even then there were problems. Patton thought he saw rats running around and set out traps. Along with that there were the unexpected visitors that just walked into the house.

It got to the point that Virgil made an immediate rule that, from now on, only he would go out and borrow. Logan was not happy, but he even agreed only one should go out at a time with all of the unexpected disturbances happening and between them, two Virgil was more cautious, dexterous, and knows what to take without the two humans noticing what is missing.

Virgil had to admit though with the unexpected schedule happening, it was getting harder and harder to move around. There have been several times when he left something behind in a hurry or was almost seen. If this keeps up, eventually they would have to leave.

This was one of those days that Virgil had to do an unexpected journey. According to Logan, Roman and Patton, both went to bed by 11:00. No matter what happened, the humans never stayed up passed that time, because it was too late to accomplish anything. Virgil has had to cut his last two outings short because guest humans would show up to bring Roman and Patton gifts or help them with the house. Virgil needed to go out now so they would have food for the next day. Even with Logan's information, this was extremely dangerous because both humans were home.

Virgil took a big breath in, held it for a few seconds, then released. He had to force his body out of the hole, if he didn't Logan and he might just starve. Logan gave Virgil the lantern he made and a whistle contraption to use if he was in trouble. If Virgil needed help while out there all he had to do was blow into the contraption and it would make a high pitch tone to notify Logan what was happening. One long blow meant he was stuck, two blows meant humans, and three meant an animal. It was only to be used in emergencies since the humans would be able to hear it too. Logan tried to make the sound as high pitched as he could so the humans wouldn't notice it, but it still had to be loud enough for Logan to hear. Virgil had the grappling hook wrapped around his shoulder and lastly a satchel bag to place all the items in.

Virgil looked both ways in the room before exiting the whole. Once he saw no humans were present he turned on the lamp and walked out. He had a hand made hoodie with black and purple on just to make sure it was hard to be seen in the dark.

Virgil scurried across the floor and made his way to the kitchen, luckily these humans loved hardwood floors. Once inside he went straight to the counter. Virgil took the grappling hook by the string and swung it around in circles a few times, once he was ready he tossed it up on the countertop. Virgil watched the hook slide a few inches, but finally catch itself on a drawer handle, he could work that. Virgil clipped the lantern to his pants, grabbed the string and tugged it a few times to make sure the hold was secure. Virgil took a few more breaths to keep himself calm then started to climb up the fishing line. He had to wrap his legs around it and use mostly his upper body strength to propel himself up.
-------------------------------------------------

Virgil was climbing for over five minutes now. He was about three fourths away from the top, but still had a good 2 minutes of climbing left. Virgil took a short break to make sure he had enough energy left to get the rest of the way there when he heard something in the distance. Virgil scanned around the room, but couldn't really see anything. He looked to his left then right, he even turned his body around slightly to look behind him. He shook his head thinking to himself he needs to calm down because he was psyching himself out. Virgil even hits his own head as if doing that would knock those thoughts out. He looks up once more to inspect the room, to reassure himself it was all in his head. Virgil scanned the room and his eyes land on a dark figure standing in the doorway. He somehow missed this figure last time and this time it seemed to come out of nowhere. Virgil was so started from the sudden appearance he dropped the whistle onto the ground. He tried to grab it, but it just went through his fingers and fell 100 feet to the ground. Virgil started to climb as fast as he could but froze in fear when the kitchen light flicked on and he was out in the open on a fishing line.
