Octavia's POV

My adopted mother is the ex wife of the late Emperor Vigarde. I had never seen the emperor in person, only in pictures. And in one of the pictures I saw a boy with light purple hair.

Flashback to 12 years ago

"Mother, who is that next to the Emperor of Grado?" I asked.

"That's my son Prince Lyon," my adopted mother said with a tear in her eye.

"Why are you crying mommy?" I asked.

"He was killed in the war four years ago. He was living with his father in Grado's castle, but since I was banished from the castle I haven't seen him. He was such a good boy. He was talented in magic and had such a caring heart, but this war. This cruel war took him away from me." She wept.

End of Flashback

I never met my brother through adoption in person, until today. I hope I can bond with him even if he isn't my biological family.

(S/n)'s POV

"Where am I? Oh, I'm back in the room in staying in at Castle Frelia," I said to myself as I awoke from my slumber.

My memories of last night are hazy, I barely remember a thing after arriving in the Midori Woods. Was yesterday just a dream?

"I see you're awake now (S/n)." My father entered my room and said in a stern tone. "You've got a lot of explaining to do about last night's incident."

Well now I know yesterday wasn't a dream.

"I don't remember," I told him.

"Lying to cover up for your friend will only make your punishment worse," my father said.

Should I tell him about Octavia and I's plan to use a revival spell which is why we had to travel to Renais to obtain an ingredient that only grows there? No, that will cause me to have to do more explaining. But what should I tell him?

"I'm waiting (S/n)," my father told me.

What should I say?!

"Let me take over (S/n), I know what to say." A voice inside me said.

This voice is what I heard yesterday night. I don't remember anything after it spoke to me. Should I trust it?

But before I was able to make a decision, the voice inside of me took control causing me to go into a frenzy of immense pain.

"(S/n), what's wrong?" My father sounded concerned hearing my pain.

I couldn't answer him. Instead the voice inside of me answered.

"It's been a long time since we've met Ephraim of Renais." The voice spoke to my dad.

"(S/n), stop acting up!" My father responded.

Suddenly, I started attacking him without my tome with dark magic, and fortunately my father was able to dodge my attacks.

"Stop it!" I said in my mind to the voice.

I tried resisting control of the voice, but I was unsuccessful and felt more pain course throughout my body.

"Stop resisting or you'll get hurt boy." The voice told me.

"So you want to fight (S/n)? That's an unusual behavior for you. Very well, but I'll have you know I don't pick fights I can't win." My father grinned, taking out his lance.

The two of us fought, but none of us were landing blows on each other. However, as a magic user my physical endurance is lower than those who don't fight with magic, so I started to run low on energy.

"I see you've gotten more agile since the last time I trained you," the fight loving king observed.

"Damn, this body is weak. I need to revive my original body!" The voice inside me cursed.

"Ephraim!" I heard someone call as they opened the door to my room.

"Lyon?"

"Your son is possessed by the demon king!" The violet haired male yelled.

"Looks like it's time for me to take my leave, I'll see you later (S/n)~"

The pain coursing through my body deceased, and I regained control of my body.

"This is just like yesterday," I weakly said out loud before blacking out again.
