Eirika's POV

"Eirika, I want you to know that I've always loved you." The prince of Grado uttered his last words.

"He's gone, he's really gone isn't he brother?!" I bawled as Ephraim embraced me.

"Look, Lyon's body i-it's moving?!" (Y/n) exclaimed as the room darkened.

"And look at my land's treasure! The light emitting from Rausten's Sacred Stone must be reacting to the demon inside of him!" L'arachel screamed.

Lyon's body was lifted into the air with a green aura surrounding him. The remaining Sacred Stone rose in the air as well and shattered into a million pieces.

"Not The Sacred Stone...that was our only hope." Tana began to cry.

"Now that all the Sacred Stones were destroyed, will the demon king fully resurrect?" (Y/n) asked.

"I don't know, but if so we must be ready to face him." Ephraim said tightening his grip on the siegmund.

Lyon's eyes were opened, and he was back on the ground. We were getting to engage him in battle, but something about him seemed different, this time I know it. Lyon is back to normal!

"Men, halt!" I yelled as our army stopped moving and I started walking towards Lyon.

"Eirika, wait! He's not the same Lyon from the past!" Brother said.

"You're wrong Ephraim!" I yelled approaching the dark mage.

"I'm still alive...Eirika...stay away," Lyon told me.

"It's okay Lyon, don't speak...I know it's you." I grabbed his hands.

Lyon began to weep on my shoulder. I felt no evil presence of the demon king inside him, like before. Lyon must have been fighting to break free from the demon king, and he finally was able to regain full control over his body.

"I love you too Lyon." I whispered in his ear.

"How? After I murdered your father, almost killed Ephraim and your friends, and even almost killed you? Just kill me Eirika, I deserve death to atone for my sins." He said emotionally.

"No Lyon, it wasn't you. It was the demon king, but he's no more now right? Let's forget about the past and start anew." I replied.

"Yeah, the demon king is no more. I've long killed him inside of me actually. Since what the demon king did to the people of Renais was irreversible, I played along with still being possessed. I felt so bad about pretending; I wanted to tell the truth, but I was afraid of facing you and Ephraim and (Y/n). I'm glad you're so forgiving of me, but I still don't think you should associate yourself with me. That's why death is the only option for me." The mage responded.

"We understand how you feel Lyon, but dying a permanent solution to a temporary problem! I don't want to lose anyone else that's close to me! Please promise me even if we part ways that you won't end your life." I cried.

"D-don't cry over me Eirika." Lyon said placing his soft hand on my face and moving some fly hair from in front of my face."I won't, I promise you." He gave me a small smile.

Lyon used his magic and transported away. That was the last time a saw him.

It's been a year since the war between Grado and Magvel ended. Ephraim took the throne as king, and I aided him in restoring the continent. I still think about Lyon. There's not a day that passes that I don't think about the last time I saw him. My heart longs to see him, but I know nothing of his whereabouts. Ephraim and I tried searching for him, but our efforts were to no avail. Nowadays, I often take trips to Grado, with the small hope that I would encounter the one whom I seek. As I was in Grado today, I stumbled upon a new library that never was there before, and decided to go in.

"Good Evening Miss, How may I help you?" The saleswoman asked me. "Oh my you're Princess Eirika of Renais, are you not?!"

"Good Evening, I am, but think nothing of it. I'm just looking around for now. How long has this bookstore been here?" I asked.

"For about a year now, it was built after Renais ended the war between Grado and the rest of Magvel." She explained.

"I see...thank you." I replied as a roamed the massive library.

Books and knowledge have always fascinated me. Whenever I use to visit Lyon, he would always impress me with the plethora of facts he knew. Because of him, I grew to love books even more, and had dreams of owning my own library one day. Immersed in my thoughts, I accidentally bumped into someone, causing their hood to fall down.

"Oh, I'm sorry." I apologized.

The person turned around. It was him.

"Lyon!" I yelled as I hugged him.

"E-eirika?" He said flustered.

"Ephraim and I have been searching for you for the past year! Where have you been?" I asked overjoyed.

"Well I-" Lyon began to say, as his body dropped to the ground.

"Lyon! No! Open your eyes!"

Lyon's POV

I haven't eaten or rested in days. I spent all my money on helping the people of Grado who suffered because of me. I can't even show my face anymore. My legs where about to give out, so I entered the building in closest proximity to myself, which was a library. I grabbed a thick book about atonement from a shelf, sat down at a table, and finished the whole book within three hours. By that time, my enervated legs regained a little bit of strength, so I decided to put that book back, and read another. As I was doing that, someone bumped into me from behind, and when I turned around it was her; the one whom I loved. Overjoyed, she wrapped her loving arms on my fatigued body. Eirika I've longed to see you, but I didn't want to place you in danger by you being with the one who started the war. Strength from my body was draining as the princess of Renais was talking, and I felt my body plummet to the ground. I heard Eirika call my name as my vision went black.

When I awoke, I found myself in a whole new environment. I wasn't in the library, I was in a bed. My tattered clothes that I was wearing were changed, and a bowl of porridge sat on the table adjacent to me. Not even questioning if this was for me, I savagely devoured the bowl of porridge, licking the spoon and the insides of the bowl. The door to the room that I was in opened.

"Lyon! You're awake! Thank God!" Eirika shouted. "Ephraim, Lyon is awake!" She joyously called for her twin.

Am I at Castle Renais? How did we get from Grado to Renais so fast? Surely, I wasn't conscientious-less for days!

"Lyon, where were you all this time? You do know that the people don't see you as evil, right?" Ephraim informed me.

"They don't?" I massaged my aching head.

"No, after the war, I explained everything to the people across the continent. They're not mad, but Grado is looking for its new emperor." The blue haired male explained.

"Why? Why would you go through all this trouble to make me innocent?! B-because of me, because of me-" I wasn't able to finish my sentence, instead my emotions got the best of me and I wept.

"Lyon, it's alright. We already forgave you for what you did. Please don't cry," Eirika looked at me with her soft sky blue eyes and caressed my shoulder with her delicate hand.

"Eirika's right Lyon. Forget about the past, and start thinking about the future. Let's all rule our lands, and for as long as we live let's never fight amongst ourselves."

"Alright." I dried my tears. "But to rule Grado, I need an empress." I smiled looking at Eirika.

"Heh, if you can best me in a duel you can have her." Ephraim smirked.

"Haha, you're still the same Ephraim! I accept your challenge!" I laughed.

In the end, I was able to be with the people I loved. I didn't beat Ephraim, but he let me marry his sister regardless. Eirika and I were wed a few months later. The years that Ephraim, Eirika, and I ruled were the most peaceful years in all of Magvel's history.
