Ephraim's POV
"Mommy, Daddy wake up! It's Christmas!" (S/n) and (D/n) exclaimed, barging in (Y/n) and I's room.
I rolled over and looked at the clock which read: 4:00 am.
"(S/n), (D/n), go back to sleep." I said to them.
"But Daddy it's Christmas! Oooh look daddy, it's snowing!" (D/n) cheered as her and her brother ran out onto the balcony.
"Keep your voices down, you'll wake up your mother!" I told them, as I saw (Y/n)'s body turn in the bed. "Get back in here! It's too cold for you two to be out there in your nightwear!" I accidentally said a little bit too loud, awaking my wife who punched me for doing so.
"Ephraim, you know tomorrow's Christmas and I have to cook because you told our chefs that I would cook the Christmas dinner for ten people, and gave them off for the holidays." (Y/n) scolded me.
"Look (Y/n) it's snowing!" I cheered trying to change the subject.
"Good, I hope you're shoveling it." My angry wife said as she buried herself back under the covers and went back into her slumber.
I quietly got out the bed, and retrieved my 7 and 8 year old children from the balcony. They were angry that I made them go back to bed, but I didn't care. When I got back into my room, I stopped a looked out the balcony window at the accumulating snow. Oh God, I'm going to be doing a lot of shoveling in the morning.
5 hours later
"(S/n), (D/n), help me shovel this snow." I said to my children.
The snow had finally stopped falling, and all together we had 6 inches of snow.
"But what about opening presents!" (D/n) cried.
"We will open presents after we finish shovel." I replied as I handed them shovels.
"I don't want to shovel, I'd rather help mom cook!" (S/n) declared, throwing his shovel to the ground.
"No you don't, you just want to be her taste tester." I responded.
"Oooh (S/n), I have an idea! What if you use your fire tome and burn the snow!" (D/n) cheered.
"That's actually a good idea. (S/n) go get your tome." I commanded him.
"B-but what if I mess up and accidentally burn down the castle." My son panicked.
"Have some confidence in yourself brother!" My daughter said to her older brother, slapping him on the back.
(S/n) retrieved his tome from his room, and the three of us went outside.
"Just burn the snow on the pathway, so our guests can have a path to walk on to get to the front door." I told my son.
"O-okay, here it goes!" (S/n) declared as he used his fire tome.
"See? I told you that you wouldn't mess up!" (D/n) celebrated.
"Y-yeah, but that took a lot of energy." He replied, as he began to collapse, but I swiftly caught him before he made contact with the ground.
"Good job (S/n)." I smiled as I carried him back inside the castle only to be scolded by (Y/n) for letting (S/n) use magic for something other than training.
"(Y/n), calm down! T-there was a lot of snow, and so we figured it would be easier if (S/n) burned it with his fire tome." I tried to explain to my furious wife.
"Ephraim, do you know what happens to snow when it melts?"
"Of course, it turns into water."
"Exactly, and you know what happens to water when the temperature is below freezing point?"
"It turns into ice...damn." I cursed realizing her point.
"So when the water refreezes in a few hours, go outside with an ice axe, break the ice, and put salt on the path by yourself." (Y/n) commanded me.
"Yes honey." I sighed as I went and got the ice axe and salt.

(Y/n)'s POV
"Finally finished," I sighed a sigh of relief as I finished making Christmas dinner.
Our guests wouldn't be here for another hour and a half, but I'm glad the food is done so I can greet the guests when they come. Ephraim just finished breaking the ice he created, and is shivering in front of the fireplace, while (S/n) and (D/n) were showing him all the Christmas gifts that "Santa" brought them. Being the nice wife that I am, I ran Ephraim a warm bath to warm him up. After his bath, I made him soup, and hot chocolate for the kids. While our family of four was talking over hot chocolate and soup, we heard a knock on the door.
"Looks like our guests are here." My husband said, putting down his bowl of soup. "Let's go greet them shall we?"
"Innessa!" (D/n) screamed, hugging her cousin.
"Oh how I've missed you (D/n)! I haven't seen you since Thanksgiving!" Innessa replied.
"Innes."
"Ephraim." The two kings greeted each other, as if they were going to compete against each other like last time.
"No," Eirika and I sternly said to our husbands, knowing that they wanted to compete.
"Hey everyone, sorry we are late!" A voice from above said.
"Mommy, is it Santa?!" (D/n) got excited.
"No, it's just Tana and her family on their wyvern." I told my daughter.
The wyvern landed, and off came Tana, Cormag, and their son Glen. In case you're wondering, Tana and I don't hate each other, but we're not best friends either. I guess you could say we're acquaintances.
"I prepared some dishes from Grado." Cormag explained to me.
"Oh, and we too brought some foods Frelia!" Eirika proclaimed.
"Did you bring presents?" (D/n) asked.
"(D/n), don't ask that!" I scolded her.
"Yes, we did," Eirika laughed.

The rest of the evening went great. The food was good, and we exchanged gifts. (S/n), (D/n), Innessa, and Glen all played together, and fell asleep in front of the fireplace. This is when the night started to take a turn for the worst.
"Innes, Cormag I challenge you to a chugging contest!" Ephraim exclaimed.
"Oh please, you know you Renais citizens can't hold your liquor!" Innes smirked.
"With all due respect kings of Frelia and Renais, but us from Grado have the highest tolerance for liquor." Cormag proudly stated.
"Heh, sounds to me like the two of you are chickening out." My husband replied.
"Alright fine, let's go!" Innes declared as he poured himself some beer.
And the three of them started drinking like there was no tomorrow. Tana, Eirika, and I all sighed at our husbands reckless actions. When the contest concluded, Cormag emerged the victor, and Innes and Ephraim were drunk. Innes was an emotional drunk, Ephraim was a perverted, flirtatious drunk, and Cormag said he just had a slight headache.
"Innes, it's time to go home." Eirika told her husband, who started whaling like a baby.
"I don't want to go home! I want to stay with Ephraim!" Innes cried.
"Tana, that ass of yours is looking fine." Ephraim smirked as he tried to grope Tana, but was punched by both Cormag and I.
"This is the last time I get into a drinking contest with them...let's go Tana." Cormag sighed.
"R-right, goodbye everyone!" Tana said as she tried to leave, but Innes clung on to her. "B-brother, w-what are you doing?!"
"Tana, I'm sorry for being so mean to you in the past, I was just trying to be a good brother. I love you so much sister...come back to castle Frelia!" The archer king wept.
"Aw brother, I love you too!" His sister replied hugging him back.
"I love you too, Princess Tana~" Ephraim yelled as he jumped on Tana.
"Can I kill him?" Cormag asked me.
"Please do." I said.
Cormag gripped the blue haired king up and punched him, sending him flying. Innes, the emotional archer started firing arrows at Ephraim, who even though was drunk was able to dodge.
"Don't worry, I'll save you princess!" Ephraim announced to Tana.
"E-ephraim, I don't have feelings for you anymore! I love Cormag!" Tana responded.
"Ephraim, if you make my sister cry I'll kill you! Tana means so much to me and—" Innes was interrupted by a punch from Ephraim.
"Ow, that hurt!" Innes sobbed.
"(Y/n)," Ephraim called me.
"What?" I said angrily.
"You responded, that means yes."
"Yes? What are you talking about?!"
"Heh, you're thick~" Ephraim laughed as he tried to pull down my shirt, but I slapped his hand away.
"I'm going to kill you when you get sober." I mumbled.
"(Y/n), Tana, let's dance in the nude!" My drunk husband screamed.
"Brother this is embarrassing, stop it!" Eirika yelled.
"Aw, don't be sad sis! You can join too!" Ephraim cheered.
Little did he know, Eirika had gotten drunk too. Innes forced alcohol down her throat while he was drunk, and now she's an angry drunk.
"Brother you're disgusting!" She yelled as she threw a chair at him, knocking him out.
Thank God.
This was the last time any of us had alcohol.
