Ephraim's POV

Our final battle commenced. As much as I didn't want to face my childhood friend, I had to muster up the courage to face him.

"Ephraim, I can't do it!" (Y/n) cried."I can't kill one of my close friends!"

"It's alright I understand. If it's too much for you, wait outside. The rest of us will handle it." I stroked her hair.

"But I can't just sit back and do nothing! I promised that I'd restore Lyon back to his original state, and that's just what I'll do!" (Y/n) vowed.

"I'd like to believe that you could, but it's impossible...Lyon said that. I'm sorry (y/n), but defeating him is the only way to free Lyon from the demon king's grasp and to save the world." I explained to her.

"I see...so that's the only way huh?" She dried her eyes." Then let's the three of us: you, me, and Eirika subdue the demon king once and for all!"

"That's the spirit (y/n)! Now...onward into battle!"

(Y/n)'s POV

Despite my initial reluctance to fighting my childhood friend, I suppressed my tsunami of emotions and fought beside the prince and princess of Renais. I wish it didn't have to come to this. Lyon, Eirika, Ephraim, and I vowed that nothing would never come between us; yet here we stand.

This is the final battle, and it's the only thing standing in between Ephraim's answer. With that in mind, I used the Nidhogg, and I struck down my opponents. It wasn't just me who was motivated to end this battle, our whole army was. Everyone seemed to be at the top of their games today, including Tana. It seemed as if she was competing with me to see who can take down the most of the enemies forces.

"No matter Ephraim's decision, let's remain friends!" Tana shouted at me.

"Yes," I nodded in agreement.

We were surrounded by monsters, and we were forced to fight together. Surprisingly, we made a good team.

"Heh, you're not bad for a princess," I smirked.

"Ha, and you're not bad for someone who is shielded by the prince almost every battle!" She retorted.

"(Y/n), let's go!" I heard Ephraim call.

Right, I forgot I told him that I'd fight with him and Eirika to subdue Lyon, and eradicate the demon king.

"Haha, see you Tana, I have to go aid the prince." I grinned.

Eirika's POV

It's hard to believe that Lyon started this whole war. We promised nothing would ever come between us, and here I am with my sword pointed at his throat. (Y/n) and my brother aided me in fighting Lyon. It was a painful battle, but we were successful in stopping him.

"I see, so the three of you were able to stop me..." Lyon managed to say as he was coughing up blood.

"Don't talk so much, you'll lose more blood! I'll go get a cleric!" I cried.

"No Eirika it's no use, my death is already set in stone." He replied.

"But Lyon..." I couldn't speak anymore, tears streamed from my eyes.

"Eirika, I want you to know that I've always loved you." The prince of Grado uttered his last words.

"He's gone, he's really gone isn't he brother?!" I bawled as Ephraim embraced me.

"Look, Lyon's body i-it's moving?!" (Y/n) exclaimed as the room darkened.

"Alas, the time has come, I have fully awakened! It is I Fomortiis, the King of the Demons!" A deep voice boomed throughout the whole castle.

Lyon's body was no more, it disintegrated. The demon king was now in his true form, which appeared to be some sort of beastly dragon. I won't forgive him for using my friend's body as a mere vessel, I'll kill him!

Ephraim's POV

"Eirika, don't!" I screamed as my sister charged towards the demon king.

She ignored me, and kept running. However, before she was able to do much as swing her sword at Fomortiis, she was blown away by a strong demonic aura emanating from him. (Y/n), Tana, Innes, and I rushed to her aid.

"B-brother...I was foolish. Go on without me, and avenge Lyon's death by defeating the demon king." Eirika spoke as she fell unconscious.

"Damn you demon king! Eirika, you can't die! Please, open your eyes!" I cried.

"Someone call for the clerics," Innes ordered as the clerics came over and examined my sister.

"Oh God, Eirika!" Tana and (Y/n) wept.

"Rest assured everyone, the princess lives! She is just unconscious!" L'arachel declared.

Everyone sighed a sigh of relief. Thank God, I couldn't take another person close to me dying.

"General Seth, can you take care of Eirika for me?" I asked.

"Certainly, but what are you plans for eradicating the king of the demons?" Seth questioned me.

"I plan on piercing him with my lance." I said.

"And I plan on helping too!" (Y/n) declared.

Soon enough my whole army vowed to help me defeat the demon king.

"Thank you everyone, now onward into battle!"

(Y/n)'s POV

Everyone attacked the demon king, but only myself and Prince Ephraim were dealing damage for some reason. Ephraim commanded everyone else to fend off the demon king's minions while we fought Fomortiis.

"(Y/n), quickly come here." The prince commanded me.

"Mhm? What is it Ephraim?"

"His weak point seems to be his head, do you think your arrows can reach that high?" I asked.

"I could try, but I'm afraid because of the angle of trajectory it has a high chance of missing." She replied."If only I were taller..."

Immediately, I felt myself being lifted. Ephraim placed me on his shoulders!

"How about now, can you strike his head from here?" He asked.

How is he not embarrassed by this?!

"Y-yeah, I should be able to as long as you don't move to much." I responded trying to calm down.

"Alright."

I took a deep breath and focused all my energy into Nidhogg. Mother, father, Lyon, King Fado, Eirika, Ephraim; this is for you. I pray this shot will bring peace to Renais and the whole continent of Magvel!

"Go to hell king of the demons!" I shouted as I shot him in the head, immobilizing him.

"Quick, seal him with Rausten's sacred stone!" L'arachel yelled as Ephraim took out the stone sealing Fomortiis once and for all.

"We did it!" I cheered forgetting I was on Ephraim's shoulders as I almost fell off.

He took me off his shoulders, and placed me gently on my feet.

"Nice shot, I knew you could do it (y/n)." He said stroking my hair.

"So the war's finally over, huh?"

"Mhm."

"Brother, (Y/n)!" Eirika's voice called.

"Eirika, you're okay!" I hugged her.

"Yes! So this war is finally over, I'm glad." Eirika smiled

"Indeed it is, but now we must restore not only Renais, but the rest of Magvel." Ephraim stated.

"Well you won't be alone, us in Rausten will help too!" L'arachel declared.

"You helped us Frelians out, so I guess we'll take a part in this restoration too." Innes added.

"Oh Innes, you know you would have helped regardless if Ephraim aided us!" Tana laughed.

"Shut up Tana." The sniper replied as he walked away.

"Hehe so Ephraim who's going to be you're restoration queen?" Eirika smirked while looking at Tana and I.

Tana and I both stared at Prince Ephraim awaiting his response.

"W-why don't we discuss this in somewhere more private?" Ephraim blushed.

"Oh, if it's privacy you want brother, I can tell everyone else to leave~" Eirika proclaimed as she told everyone to evacuate the abandoned castle.

"I can't stand her sometimes." Ephraim sighed rubbing his temples.

"So do you have your answer?" I asked.

"Y-yes, but promise me that neither of you will be saddened by my response, and that the two of you will stay friends." The prince told us.

"We promise." Tana and I agreed.

"I'm in love with you, (Y/n). At first, I only saw you as a sister figure like Eirika, but as we traveled together even during this time of war, I started to see you differently. And Tana, I'm sorry I wasn't able to reciprocate you're feelings, you will always be a close friend to me, and when you find someone else that you want to marry, I want to be there and challenge him to a duel to make sure he's worthy of being with you for the rest of your life."

"Haha, I kind of had a feeling this would be your answer...congratulations (Y/n), you better take care of Ephraim. You know how reckless he can be at times!" Tana said as she smiled through her obvious sadness.

"Haha thank you Tana, I will." I said as I gave her a hug.

I can't believe it, I'm going to be the new queen of Renais!
