Ephraim's POV

I was elated to see that both my sister and (y/n) were alright. I'm amazed that they were able to lead an army of small size like I did, and get all the way to Renvall safely. It's been so long since I've seen them...maybe about a year. When I heard the news that Eirika and her army had been ambushed, without hesitation I came to her aid. I didn't expect (y/n) to be with her since she isn't really a fighter, but I guess a lot can change in a year. I heard footsteps coming from behind me, and I almost attacked without looking.

"Ahh!" (Y/n) screamed.

"Oh (Y/n)! I didn't know that was you! You almost met with the tip of my lance," I said.

I don't know why, but a mist of pink appeared all over (y/n)'s face.

"S-sorry, I was just trying to assist you in battle." She responded not looking me in the eyes.

"No need to apologize, I was lost in my thoughts. Haha, not a good thing to do on the battlefield...you want to assist me you say? Alright, let's go."

We made a good team, with (y/n)'s long distance attacks, and my close range attacks, we covered each other's vulnerabilities and we were able to subdue our opponents. After a tiring day, we all went to the closest town to rest. We decided to join Eirika's army and head back to Renais to regroup before traveling back to Grado. Currently, (y/n) and I are conversing in my room of the inn we are staying in.

"Your archery has improved remarkably since I last saw you," I told (y/n).

"Heh, well I couldn't stay the weakest out of you, Eirika, Tana, and Innes forever."

"Haha, I guess you're right, but I bet you still can't pick up my lance from back when we first met!" I teased.

"What?! That was ages ago! I can pick up your Reginleif!" She informed me as she placed her bow down and snatched my lance from me.

She was able to lift it, but when she tried to swing it, she fell backwards. Fortunately for her, I swiftly moved to catch her, resulting in us falling on to the bed due to the combined weight of her and my lance. Suddenly, the door to the room I was staying in opened, and in came my twin sister.

"E-eirika, it's not what it looks like!" (Y/n) panicked.

Eirika giggled," Oh really?"

"R-really!"

"Did you need something Eirika?" I asked.

"Oh brother, you're so dense...anyway, I came to tell you that dinner is ready."

"Thank you, we'll be down shortly." I replied as I lifted (y/n) off of me.

Eirika left the room, and it was just (y/n) and I. (Y/n) looked embarrassed, so I tried to say something that would cure her embarrassment but I ended up making it worse.

"You know (y/n) maybe we can do some strength training together, so you'll be able to swing my lance."

With that statement, (y/n) left the room more flustered than she originally was.

"Wait (y/n), what did I say wrong?!"
