Once we arrived back to the house, I took Beau to bed and tucked her in. Leaving her with Zion to watch her while I went down to the family room to wait for Carter to return.

Vasily and the rest of the men that were at the dinner stayed at the restaurant to take care of things so that left us home with his wife and daughters.

"Are you sure he's going to be okay?" I asked Messiah as I paced back and forth.

"Why do you care? It's not like he is yours." A women spat, she came towards me with an accusing finger.

Messiah and the rest of my security team stood in front of me and moved her back to where she stood previously.

"Messiah, stop." I waved, dismissing him and the rest.

"Kara can't talk like that to you, let them interfere or else Carter will when he gets back." Kai called over.

"I can handle my own." I pushed Messiah out of the way.

"Sure you can." Kara scoffed.

"Kara, stop." Her mother stood and tried pulling her in the opposite direction of me.

"Stay out of it Quinn." Kara snapped and came to stand in front of me.

"You need to stay away from my fiancé." Kara leaned in and whispered into my ear.

"He doesn't even look at you, how is he your fiancé?" Kai fell against his seat as he laughed.

"Excuse me?" I moved my head so I could have a better look at her face.

"You heard me, STAY AWAY FROM CARTER!" She yelled and grabbed me by the throat.

Is she serious? I thought, twisting her arm and pushing her off of me.

"Don't touch her." I snapped at Messiah and Felik as they made a move to interfere.

"Stay away from Carter, he's mine." She spat on my shoulder.

Cringing at the saliva that landed on my top, I grabbed her by the throat and threw her up against the wall behind me.

"Carter is my older brother." I whispered into her ear and tightened my hold. "You should have asked before you assumed, it would have saved you the embarrassment."

"I can-n't bre-" She cried, scratching at my arm that had her pinned to the wall.

"She wouldn't have known, Vasily or Landon wouldn't have told them anything about you. Rei' instructions of course." Kai clapped slowly.

Exactly why she should have asked instead of assumed. I let her drop to the floor and left the room to change.

"Are you okay?" Messiah asked as I closed the door behind me quietly, not wanting to wake Beau.

"Yeah." I sighed.

"You're a threat, people do some crazy things when they feel threatened." He answered my unvoiced question.

"I haven't done anything that would threaten anyone."

"Maybe not but it's what you can do that is threatening to some, especially if you have Rei wrapped around your finger." Felik winked.

Something about Felik being playful always made me smile, he was just too serious.

"I should apologize, I disrespected Vasily's family in their own home." I hung my head.

"You'll learn that apologizing isn't an option in this lifestyle. You were disrespected, and that shouldn't have happened in the first place." Messiah shook his head. "Wait until Rei finds out about it."

I thought about Messiahs words properly and hoped that Carter wouldn't find out. I didn't want to make such a big deal of it.

"My, my." Kai whistled. "Little sister like older brother."

"Kai." I gave him a pointed look and flopped down next to him.

"They left." He gestured to the now empty room. "Kara is probably getting yelled at by her mother and sisters."

"Do you think I should apologize?" I elbowed his side.

"No, Versana's never apologize." He shrugged.

"Versana's?" I questioned.

"Well you know, you're Versana."

"What do you mean by that?"

He can't know.

"Your real surname is Versana right? Since 'Vice' was made up. I have a question, you probably can't answer it though." He turned to face me. "Why did your father keep your guys name associated with his father, Vice?"

"You're right, I can't answer that." I stared down at the ring on my finger. "I look back and there's a lot of things my parents have said to me before and none of it made sense until now."

"Like what exactly?"

"Stop telling people more then they need to know." I turned him to stare forward instead of at me.

"Kai shouldn't be asking questions." Carter appeared out of nowhere and slapped the side of Kai' head.

"Are you okay?" I asked, rushing into his waiting arms.

"Eu sou.(I am.)" He chuckled.

"You missed the show, Rei." Kai smirked at me. "Ava, sweet Ava, almost choked out Kara."

"Kai." I shook my head, silently pleading him not to say a word.

"Who's Kara?" Carter turned around the room in search of someone.

"You don't know who Kara is?" I frowned at his confused expression.

"I wouldn't have asked if I knew, now would I." He flicked my forehead.

"Well, how don't you know Landon's sister?" I whacked his hand away.

"How do you know who she is?" He raised a questioning brow.

Kai wasted no time and explained to him what happened in detail and Carter stared at me with a proud smile.

"Don't smile like that, it's not something to be happy about Carter." I scowled.

"Sure it is." He smiled, slinging his arm over my shoulders. "I'll deal with it."

"Don't. I already dealt with it, I'm sure she won't try anything again."

"She better not, or I won't hesitate to-"

"You won't be doing anything to a woman, or else." I glared at him.

"You know, you look cute glaring little sis but we'll work on that." He joked, dodging my hand that reached to screw his ear. "Is Beau asleep?"

"Yes, she's with Zion." I pulled at his hand and stared at his reddened knuckles.

I know them all too well, maybe not to his extent. I thought, studying his knuckles.

Majority of his hands are covered in tattoos but you could still see the areas where it'll bruise.

"Don't ask because I won't tell you."

"I know, but you will." I smiled. "I have some ointment in Beau's bag, it'll help with the bruising."

"Do you always carry around that stuff." He flicked my ear.

"I have a toddler to take care of, of course I do."

"Good point." He nodded, following after me. "Is it okay if we leave now?"

"Leave? You want to go home already?"

"Our next stop is Mexico and I don't think I can wait any longer."

"Wait any longer for what?" I turned to stare up at him.

"To put your Grandfather Vice through another wall."
