04. Onto Her Dream
And so she ran
She ran everyday
Everynight.
She ran for she wanted to fly
She wanted to fly away from everything
That held her down to the ground.
She was so tired
Of being held back
By people who knew nothing
Saw nothing
And cared about nothing.
She knew
Oh she knew
That all the world wants
Is for her to be brought down
Because only birds can fly
Only aircrafts can fly
And one should be very foolish
To even take a leap
Into the sky.
But
She wanted to defy them.
She wanted to defy them all.
She wanted to prove them wrong
About everything they've branded her.
Annoying, bossy, stupid
Bitch.
She wanted to prove them all wrong.
She got so addicted
To the thought of proving them wrong
By flying
That it only brought her down
Slowly, but surely.
She wasn't even aware of it
But everyone around her knew
There was something wrong.
Her coach would tell her during trainings
That she was running way too fast.
Her teachers noticed a sudden drop
In the numbers of her grades.
And her parents
Her parents
The ones she thought would understand her
Don't understand her.
They would scream at both of her ears.
Father on the right
Mother on the left
Saying how she could be better.
As a student, athlete
Daughter.
So there was really no way out of it.
Their words would bump into each other
In her head
Then there was still
The memory of him.
No, it wasn't just a memory
They were memories.
Memories of how they would
Meet up after school.
Memories of how he
Broke her heart
Because he stopped caring.
Her problems became overwhelming for him
Until, slowly
Ever so slowly
He stopped to care.
All of this
Clogged up in her head
Until it resembles a huge pile
Of garbage.
She couldn't clean it up.
She couldn't find a way.
The only way she knew how
Was through running.
And so, she continued running.
She continued flying
Despite everyone else
Telling her to come down.
