Chapter 10
An eerie silence fell across the room, no one quite understanding what had just happened. Then as if by the flick of a switch, the whole room descend into panicked murmurs. 'What the hell just happened' 'Why would he do that' 'Flordia and North are back.' It was impossible to tell who said what, but Ame figured that enough was enough, "Ok, that's enough, everyone except for North Carolina and Florida, head outside. We'll talk in a moment." The crowd of fifty were reluctant to leave, eager for information on what the hell was happening to their brother, but not wanting to argue with Ame, they all slowly funneled out of the room, the last go being South Carolina. She stoped at the doorway and looked back, only to sigh and walk.

South left the room, only to be surrounded by a semi circle of faces, all with their own questions. Having the spotlight on her, south didn't know what to say, she felt like she was going to throw up, she just didn't know what to say.
Then the sound of a gunshot rang out above the voices and left the room silent, as all eyes shifted from south to Texas holding his revolver pointed to the ceiling as smoke left its barrel and the scent of gunpowder filled the room. "Y'all know that South hates to be the center of attention, so how bout you give her some space and back off." The lone star state boomed, missing his iconic smile. The states made a path that South practically ran through as everyone watched. An awkward silence filled the room as Texas put his revolver back in his holster as the other states stood in either confusion, fear, or anger.
After a long few moments of silence, Tenn decided to break it with a cough, "I-I should probably go check on her..." He murmured as the short state walked through the path his sister had ran through before. Soon the room was filled with states theorizing what had happened to each other, forming into their normal cliques and groups.

As Ame watched the states leave room, for a brief second, South looked back, and made direct eye contact with him, before sighing and following the others out, leaving the room. Ame did truly feel sorry for her, to have lost her twin and closest brothers with no explanation, only to find them and have one be in critical condition. It must have been tough. He wondered how he would have handled it if that happened to Canada, Zeel, and Aussie.
He turned back towards the only remaining states in the room, 'South will just have to wait, right now, we need to figure out what's going on here with these three.' As he glared down at the two nervous states, not even Florida said anything, as he just played with his fingers. "Well, what happened?" He asked in a tone that was somehow sympathetic, disappointed, and fearful all at once. Neither state dared answer, unsure what they should even say. Ame tried his best to put on a reassuring smile, "I understand that you may be scared, that you think I'll be angry if you tell me what happened. But the truth is, I'm delighted that your back, as well am I'm sure every other state is. But if you don't tell me what happened out there, than it's impossible for me to help Georgia, so please, what happened." North looked up at Ame for a second, then he shrugged his shoulders and meekly said, "Alright, I'll tell you, but it will a while to go over," he began, as he sat down on a nearby bed.
From there North and Florida depicted everything that had happened, from catching Georgia running away, to the ritual to bring back Dixie. "And that's when you and South showed up." North finished. Ame shook his head, "while I am disappointed in you two for not telling me when he tried to run away, that's behind us now. What's important is finding a cure for Georgia."
Florida looked hesitantly back towards the door, "what are we gonna tell everyone else?" He asked. "Nothing." Ame answered without hesitation, "if they hear about your attempt to bring back Dixie, we'll risk another civil war. For now at least, this is on a need to know basis, understood?" The two states hesitantly looked at each other, before sharing wordless nod of agreement.
????????
Georgia opened his eyes to see a blood-red ceiling. He groaned as he sat up from the floor he was on. Then he started to remember. He woke up, saw the other states, and then he heard the voice again. To try and make it stop he knocked himself out, and how's he's here, wherever here is. "Finally awake sleeping beauty?" A gruff voice behind him said. Georgia froze, he knew that voice, but that was impossible. He turned around to see a country with red white and blue stars and bars.
"Dixie!" Georgia yelled as he got up and hugged the country. Dixie chuckled as he returned the hug, "nice to see you too kid." As they broke away Georgia asked, "Did it work, did we bring you back?" Dixie gave a small shake of his head, "We've got a lot to talk about."

Another chapter done. I actually wrote this one before 9.5 or 10.5. Sorry about the cliffhanger but the good news is you'll get answers about the plot next chapter. Quick fun fact though, when the first U.S troops arrived in Europe in 1917 for world war 1, the British band played them the song "Dixieland" when they were asked why, they said it was the most American song they knew.
