Carly

When my alarm awoke me from my peaceful sleep on Monday morning I couldn't have been more unhappy. I groaned as I slammed my hand down onto the device, effectively shutting it up. I lazily dragged myself out of bed and made my way towards the bathroom, not even bothering to pick up the blanket that had fallen off the bed.

After a quick five minute shower that helped to wake me up I got dressed in a pair of jeans and a cute top before grabbing my bag and leaving the room. I gently opened the door to Aidens bedroom and stepped in, happy to see my son still sleeping.

I still had about ten minutes before I needed to leave for school so I simply rested my elbows on the edge of the crib, peering down at my beautiful baby as I did so. Aidens light colored hair was messy across his forehead and his long eyelashes brushed his cheeks.

I smiled when I saw that he was clutching his baby blanket in his left hand tightly, holding it to him. Watching Aiden sleep is one of my favourite pastimes and has been since he was a newborn.

My head snapped up when I heard the door squeak open. I watched curiously as Gracie slowly stuck her head into the room, her eyes meeting mine.

"Hey." I greeted quietly, mentioning for her to come in. Gracie have me a small smile before tip toeing her way over to me. I watched as she looked down into Aidens crib, glancing him over with tender eyes.

"When do you and Collin plan to have kids?" I questioned randomly. I watched the surprise flicker across Gracies face as her eyes met my own.

"Honesty, I don't know. We don't talk about stuff like that, about the future." She muttered as she picked at her nails. I frowned on confusion.

"Why not?" I asked in genuine concern. Gracie shrugged her shoulders in response. I could tell that the subject made her upset so I dropped it and simply pulled her in for a hug.

I smiled when she wrapped her arms around my waist, squeezing me tightly.

"So, are you ready to go to school?" Gracie questioned after she pulled away and cleared her throat.

I sighed before nodding my head, leading Gracie out of Aidens bedroom. We walked down the stairs, arm to arm, and took our bags off of the rack. Xavier had told me that he wasnt going to be going to school today, due to pack business, so I was riding to school with Gracie today. 

After taking the short five minute drive to school Gracie and I walked to the school together, finding our other friends on the front steps of the school. Faith was talking to Seth while Noah and Collin were laughing about something or another. 

"Hey guys." I greeted them as we approached them. All four of them answered in one way or another and Gracie and I quickly joined the conversation. Though we all easily fell into conversation with one another it was easy to tell that it was different without Xavier present. 

About ten minutes later the first bell rang and we all went seperate ways, heading to class. I hadnt managed to make any new friends since I had started school so I was basically alone in the classes that I didn't have with my friends.

I took a seat in my first period class and awkwardly twirled my pencil around as I waited for the bell to ring. I watched as the classroom began to quickly fill up and right as the bell rang I saw a new face walk through the door.

The guy was tall and though he was good looking he had a strange aura. I couldn't quite put a finger on it until I smelt his scent, rogue. I immediately stiffened before quickly opening a mind link with Xavier.

Xavier

I called out nervously. It took all of two seconds for him to reply.

What is it Carly? Is something wrong?

He questioned. I then proceeded to tell him about the rogue who had just walked into my classroom. Xavier growled before telling me that he would be arriving shortly.

I had been so distracted taking to Xavier that I hadn't even noticed that the un named rogue had sat down right next to me. I slightly jumped when I noticed his presence and gulped when a deep chuckle left his lips.

"Hey I'm Adam." The rogue greeted me, holding out his hand. For a few seconds I simply stared at his hand in surprise until he cleared his throat which caused me to gently place my hand in his before giving my name.

"I'm Carly." I said quietly. Adam nodded his head and gave me a lopsided smile, which made him look a little less scary. I timidly returned it, knowing that I shouldn't even be talking to him.

Only a second after I had pulled my hand from Adams grip did the classroom door burst open and in walked one angry alpha.

Technically the high school is on neutral ground, so anybody can attend it, but with the pack being so close by I assume that Xavier wasn't very comfortable with Adam being here. It is unusual for rogues to attend school and that made my curiosity spike.

Luckily for Xavier the teacher, Mr. Henry, is a werewolf and he understood when Xavier demanded Adam to leave the classroom with him. I have them a worried look as they were exiting but didn't do anything otherwise.

I impatiently tapped my pencil against the desk but neither Adam or Xavier returned.

The end of the school day couldn't have rolled by fast enough and as soon as the last bell rang I was out of the school in a flash. I glanced and for Gracie but she was no where to be found. I was beginning to worry when I suddenly heard a small voice.

"Mommy!" Aiden cried out as he ran towards me. A large smile lit up my whole face and I crouched down just as he reached me. I smothered Aidens small face in kisses before greeting him.

"Hey buddy, how was your day?" I questioned him as he wrapped his arms around my neck. I could feel multiple pairs of eyes on me but I injured their judgmental stares.

"Good mommy, I colored you a picture." Aiden answered just as I spotted Xavier walking towards us. I gave him a happy smile and thanked him with my eyes.

I continued to make small chat with Xavier and Aiden as we drove home but the Adam situation was never brought up. I was dying to ask Xavier about it but I didn't want to do so worth Aiden in the car.

Once we arrived at the house I grabbed Aiden from the backseat before making my way inside, Xavier right behind me. I greeted Melinda at the bottom of the stairs before setting Aiden down.

The little boy was quick to run off and play and I simply chuckled as he did so. I watched as Xavier walked up the stairs and quickly ran to catch up with him. I followed him to his bedroom and threw myself onto his large bed, feeling right at home. Xavier chuckled and shook his head.

"You certainly are something." He taunted as he sat besides me. I stuck my tongue out at him playfully which caused him to roll his eyes.

"So what happened with Adam?" I questioned as I sat up. Xavier sighed and ran a hand through his dark hair.

"I let him go because technically he didn't do anything wrong. I can't make him leave the school but I did tell him to not even think about stepping foot into my land." I could tell that Xavier was upset about not being able to get rid of Adam.

"Hey it's alright, he probably won't even be a problem and if he is then you can take care of him." I spoke softly, trying to comfort him.

Xavier looked over at me then and the intensity in his eyes was somewhat scary. I could see all of the emotion that he held in those icy blue eyes and I couldn't even comprehend what was happening as Xavier began to slowly lean towards me, eyes focused on my lips.

My breath caught in my throat as my heart began to rapidly beat, so loud that I'm sure he could hear it. Xaviers lips were mere inches from mine when suddenly guys bedroom door was thrown open and in walked Collin.

Xavier and I instantly sprang apart before looking at the beta with wide eyes. Collin was staring at us in surprise and we all simply stared at each other before Collin cleared his throat.

"If this is a bad time I can come back." Collin awkwardly stated. I nervously shook my head.

"No, no it's fine, I was just leaving." I rambled before darting out of the room. My heart was pounding when I got back to my bedroom and it wasn't because I had ran the whole way.
