The Hulk had gotten into the city. Tony was forced to bring in VERONICA into it. They reportedly damaged a lot of the city. We were apparently going towards a safe house.

The safehouse turned out to be a large farmhouse. Clint landed the quinjet and the door opened up. We all walked toward it. Thor asked, "What is this place?" Tony replied with a question, "A safe house?" Clint responded, "Let's hope." We entered the house before Clint said, "Honey, I'm home." A heavily pregnant woman, who I recognized from pictures as his wife, Laura, walked in from the kitchen. Clint hugged her, "Hi. Company. Sorry I didn't call ahead." I slipped out before anyone realized I was gone. It worked for a minute before Steve and Thor came out, "Thor." Thor replied, "I saw something in that dream. I need answers, I won't find them here."

We both watched as Thor used his hammer to fly out. Steve turned to enter the house when he saw me, "I didn't even realize you came out here." I smirked, "Then my plan almost succeeded." He sat down and I hear a woman's voice go through my head, "We can go home." I had heard him talk about a woman named Peggy. I asked, "You saw her, didn't you? Peggy that is." He nodded and I put my head on his shoulder, "What did you see Ellie?"

I hesitated before responding, "I saw Jarvis, or what I imagined Jarvis to be like as a person. We slow danced and that was it." I raised my head up and felt my cheek tingle from where my vision of Jarvis kissed me. He stood up and he took my hand to help me up and lead me back inside. We were with everyone else when we realized he was still holding my hand. He dropped my hand before anyone noticed. Or so we thought."

Clint's POV:
Laura checked out the wound that Pietro had given me. I told her, "See, you worried for nothing. Can't even feel the difference, can you?" Laura smiled, "If they're sleeping here, some of them are gonna have to double up." I laughed, "Yeah, that's not gonna sell." Laura asked, "What about Nat and Dr. Banner? Or Steve and Ellie? How long has that been going on?" I was majorly confused, "Has what?" It was Laura's turn to laugh, "You are so cute."

I thought about it, "Nat and...and Banner? Steve and Ellie?" Laura said, "I'll explain when you're older, Hawkeye. Come on, I can't be the only one who saw the looks between Nat and Dr Banner or the hand holding when Ellie and Steve came back in."

I had seen the hand holding, but not the looks. I gave in, "Oh. Okay." She changed the subject a little bit, "It's bad, right? Nat seems really shaken."
I nodded, "Ultron has these allies, these uh, kids, they're punks really. They carry a big damn stick and Nat took a serious hit. Someone's gonna have to teach 'em some manners."

Laura sighed, "And that someone be you. You know I totally support your Avenging, I couldn't be prouder. But I see those guys, those "Gods"..." I sat down by the window which overlooked Steve, Ellie, and Tony, "You don't think they need me." Laura joined me, "I think they do. Which is a lot scarier. They're a mess." I couldn't help, but smile, "Yeah. I guess they're my mess." She noted, "You need to be sure that this team is really a team and that they have your back. Things are changing for us. In a few months time, you and me are gonna be outnumbered. I need...just be sure."

I nodded and stood up, "Yes, ma'am." I kissed her and Laura places her arm around my waist. I could feel her touching my wounded side, "I can feel the difference."

Ellie's POV
I was watching Steve and Tony chopping wood outside the farmhouse. Tony asked us, "Thor didn't say where he was going for answers?" I shook my head as Steve replied, "Sometimes my teammates don't tell me things. I was kind of hoping Thor would be the exception."

I went up to the house where Clint was with his two kids. His voice went through my head, "I wonder if Laura was right and Ellie is dating Steve...They were hand holding..." I choked on my spit. Clint asked, "Are you ok Ellie?" I nodded, "Just one thing Clint, I can read minds." He thought for a minute before asking, "Are you two together?" I shook my head, "No. We aren't. The hand holding was because I was outside thinking and Steve helped me up and led me inside. That's all." I walked in the house where Laura was, "Is it ok if I get some waters from the fridge?" She nodded, "Of course." I grabbed three, one for me, one for Tony, and one for Steve.

I headed back outside with the cold waters. I saw Steve rip a block of wood in two. I have to admit, that was kind of hot. I shook my head to clear the thought from it as I headed over to them, "Here you go." I handed one over to each and kept one for myself.

Laura came out, "I'm sorry. Mr. Stark, uh, Clint said you wouldn't mind, but, our tractor, it doesn't seem to want to start at all. I thought maybe you might..." Tony said, "Yeah, I'll give her a kick." He walked towards the barn. Before he got too far away from us, he said, "Don't take from my pile." I rolled my eyes." Steve went back to chopping wood and Laura went inside.

I asked him, "Are you okay?" He stopped chopping again, "I can't believe you knew about Ultron and didn't tell me. Instead you helped create it." I sighed, "Tony said not to and this would help." His eyebrows furrowed, "And you believed him?!" I nodded, "I wanted to be useful." Steve raised his voice, "Well you weren't. All you did was help Stark make things worse. You believed him like a gullible ignorant kid."

I was taken back by his words. I didn't say anything, but instead walked to the quinjet. I could hear Steve call after me, "Ellie wait." I opened the door and slammed it behind me.
