“Sup,” Jacob said coming into the room.

“Hey,” I said back.

“Did you hear about all the attacks?” he asked.

“Its kinda hard not to hear about them,” I answered.

“Hey, um is Mitchell here?” Jacob inquired.

“No, he said he’d be here around 3,” I said, “It’s 2:47.”

“2:47? Way to be precise,”

“Thats what I’m here for,” I said.

When Mitchell walked in he said, “Hey,  Jacob, Hey, Emma, wheres everyone else?”

“Well, Peyton said she’d be here at 3:15 and its 2:59,” I said.

“2:59, really? So precise,” Jacob said.

“Oh, and Jenny and Jena are gonna be here at 3:27,” I added.

“Ugh!!” Jacob exclaimed.

A few hours later we all are in our usual meeting place, a coffee shop called Peets. Our group consists of me, Peyton, Jacob, Mitchell, Jena (we call her JP), Jenny, and Adam. 

“The war has gotten pretty bad huh,” Jacob said.

The war started a couple months ago. A couple states in out country, Malcedone, got into fight that turned into a war. Each state is picking sides and pretty soon the whole country will be at war. 

“We have to leave,” I said.

“And go where?” Peyton said.

“I don’t know...” I said, “anyone have any ideas?”

“Hmmm,” Peyton said.

“I know!” Mitchell said pulling up a map on his phone, “It’s a little country called Darian,”

“It looks beautiful,” Adam said looking at pictures on his phone, “See,”

“It looks like a nice place,” Jenny said.

“But how would we get there?” JP asked.

“I could book the flights,” Adam suggested.

“Go in the air?” Jacob asked, “Alongside the bomber planes?”

“He has a point...” Peyton said.

“He’s just being paranoid,” I said.

“No really, he does have a point,” Peyton said again, “The planes could think we were enemies and shoot us down.”

“There are no flights in or out of here, anyway,” Adam says.

“Then it’s decided,” JP said, “We’ll have to drive,”

“Then it’s a good thing I have a HUGE van,” Jacob said.

“Well thats convenient,”  Mitchell said.

“When will we leave?” I asked.

“Wait you guys were serious?” Adam asked.

“Of course we’re serious!” Jacob exclaimed.

“Then we better get packing,” Adam said.

“Wait, what are we gonna do with all of our furniture and stuff we can’t bring with us?” Peyton asked.

“I never thought of that,” Jacob said.

“We could have an estate sale,” Jenny suggested.

“Thats a great idea and we would have money for hotel rooms and such,” JP said.

“But where will we live when we get there?” Jenny realized.

I look over and see Peyton already looking something up on her phone.

“I just found four apartments right next to each other,” Peyton eventually said, “Their nice, and cheap,”

“Let me see,” Jenny asked.

“Here,” Peyton said passing the phone to Jenny. Jenny passed it on and we all got a look at the apartments.

“Is it settled then?” I ask.

“I guess it is,” Mitchell said.
