Hi dear readers, I'm stuck in writer's block so it's just so awful.

For now, I am just taking a break. Upon doing so, I saw some of my notes on my notebook, USBs, and old laptop for the sequel to the crystal princess and this spin-off.

It's been a while since I've done romance genre. Back then, my award-winning short stories are usually about romance. I don't know what happened but I just jumped ship from romance to science fiction. Nevertheless, I have no regrets.

To give you a brief background, I used to buy historical romance novels from second-hand bookshops. I have these Julie Garwood, Jude Deveraux, and Catherine Coulter books on my shelf. The genre change happened when my friends gifted me a Wheel of Time book set which introduced me to the world of epic adventures.

The Wheel of Time is pretty much like Tolkien's Lord of the Rings but unlike Tolkien's work which is predominantly male, Wheel of Time is more feminist. You have a queen ruling a powerful nation and wielders of the one power called the Aes Sedai are all females. Plus, there is more inclusivity since the nations have different influences aside from Western Medieval inspiration.

I am also an avid astronomy fan. In the 90s, I was a runner-up in an astronomy quiz bee championship. I am bad at math but when it comes to physics and astrophysics principles, I can find ways to solve and understand them. That is why my teacher tries to turn problem-solving into an astronomical problem to motivate me in stepping up to the challenge.

Combining all these influences: historical/royal romances, epic adventure, and astronomy/space exploration with a dash of anime and cartoon tv shows, I came up with the crystal princess.

And this spin-off is my brief visit to my first love.

This is a romcom about the young diligent handmaiden, Nuviette. In doing so, we get a glimpse of Elzilaura's life as Queen of Fliska. This is the original draft and a preview of what is to come. The main character here is the handmaiden Nuviette and her experiences serving the royal couple as a part of their household staff.

Expect that it is not as action-packed as the crystal princess but it will have some twists and turns. The characters from The Crystal Princess will make cameos but be prepared for certain changes in their attitudes because this story will focus on their lives within their abode. It will also be more adult because most of the characters from The Crystal Princess have just settled down.

But this story differs from my other writings in the sense that the servants are the ones in the spotlight. The young adult protagonist has just reached the age of kusom or in earth years, it is somewhere around sixteen to seventeen which means she has to leave the orphans and abandoned program of the Fliskan government. Her caretakers made a recommendation letter for her to work at the royal palace.

As she gets employed, she meets her fellow servants and they encounter the royals through the course of their work learning valuable lessons through their experiences.

So this is the Royals and I.
