Space Adventure

Chiriu and Nuviette were placed on the morning shift after their suspension. Shenla planned to separate the two by assigning them different shifts but because they were shorthanded, the head handmaiden chose not to proceed with her plan.

The Queen was scheduled to leave for the Folora colonies that day to attend a parade celebrating its independence from the Mudrogos Vel Empire so everyone on the day shift was busy. The traveling companion or the handmaiden assigned to accompany the queen on her journey had an emergency. In cases like this, Shenla would become the traveling companion.

Just before departure, the queen summoned the head handmaiden to her sitting room and commanded the servant to bring companions along. When she got back to the service room, she chose Chiriu and Nuviette.

They were all surprised with her decision but before the other girls could contest, she began reiterating her orders before preparing to depart. She then commands the two young servants to follow her.

"I'm sorry but I must ask. Why us, Ma'am?" Chiriu blurted out.

"Because you two are the most trustworthy of these ladies. In fact, Chiriu is a front-runner to being Anlise's replacement until your suspension. That is another reason why I chose both of you so you can redeem yourselves and also get extra pay. Traveling companions get additional compensation because usually our contract is only for palace services.

"I see. Thank you for considering us." Chiriu says.

"Yes, it truly is an honor," Nuviette adds.

Soon, they follow the queen down the staircase and into the great hall where the royal sister was. She bowed to her majesty before receiving instructions.

Soonafter, they all rode speedcrafts that led them to the royal airbase where they board the royal space vessel Chadusak. The vessel was gleaming like a crystal. The hull had floral carvings on it which was said to be sensors. These were inspired by the space vessel that the queen and her companions had repaired in Tergiel 6 during their journey from earth.

This ship was bigger and had a sleek design. The interiors were well let and had a regal and comfortable ambiance. It wasn't as lavish as most royal vessels and it did not have spacious rooms because during the restoration, Elzilaura kept their lifestyle very simple. Now that Fliska was going back on track, she could order a more luxurious one yet she chose to concentrate on projects that will benefit her people. Having a simple transport ship was more than enough for her.

For most of the trip, the queen stayed on the bridge in a special area. Her servant companions were seated next to her as well. Every now and then, the captain approaches them reporting to her majesty.

Not for long, they reach the Folora colonies. The Queen disembarked with her companions and was greeted by the head of government, President Kalteron Kairai. The servants followed her majesty and the President. Not for long, the Bealyxelle of Desdan arrived and joined them.

Nuviette tried to remain calm and composed just like Chiriu but deep within, she was ecstatic to see the dignitaries in person. 

President Kalteron was hailed as a war hero and also a compassionate leader. He spent most of his life fighting for independence for his colony until they have achieved it. He is also a very handsome man and one of the most eligible bachelors in the universe.

Bealyxelle Polini was a Desdanin warrior as well before she married the ruler. She had recently given birth and yet she had returned to her duties not long after. She was indeed a very dedicated public servant.

Nuviette was so fixated on the Queen of Desdan's exquisite look. She donned a peach-to-aquamarine gradient floor-length chiffon dress. Her coat was in aquamarine as well as her drop earrings and collar necklace.

Even though she fancied the Desdanin, Nuviette was still proud of her mistress who looked ever radiant in her fuchsia long dress studded with lilac and purple crystal on the bust area. The queen's long coat and shoes matched the color of lilac crystals.

The two queens were guests of honor since their governments were always supportive of the Foloran colonies. After the parade, Queen Elzilaura gave a congratulatory speech to the nation before heading back to her space vessel. They took off and hurried back home to Fliska.

On the way back, the ship shook and alarm had sounded off. Soon, enemy ships came out of nowhere. Though they looked like Mudrogite ships, it seems they were stolen by a space pirates faction called the tenerents.

Everyone on the bridge prepared for battle. Shield was powered on and the defense team prepared to fire weapons. The queen was surprised that even her two handmaidens were ready to fight. Nuviette stood up and moved closer to her.

"Don't worry your majesty. We are here to protect you." Nuviette says.

"Yes, your majesty. We will fight to the end." Chiriu followed Nuviette and stood in front of the queen assuming a fighting stance.

Nuviette was surprised at Chiriu. When the latter noticed her companion's astonishment, she began to reveal another secret.

"During the Fliskan invasion, we were part of a guerilla movement. We defended the mountain regions of our province for as long as we can. We stood our ground and carried on until our crystal princess returned and the restoration began." Chiriu narrates.

"I see." Nuviette responds. "So, you know how to fight?"

"Yes." Chiriu retorts.

"Good. Cause I'm not that good in fighting." Nuviette says honestly. "But we defended our sanctuary during the Nybian Invasion so I can help you a little." She chuckled nervously.

Elzilaura couldn't help but admire the two young ladies with her. She wanted to hug them both but she was still fixated on the viewscreen. The enemies were fast approaching.

Nuviette thought to herself; why was the queen hesitant? With the crystal cross in her hands, she could defend them and defeat the enemy easily. She once defeated enemies stronger than these intruders so why was she taken aback? For one thing, she saw in her peripheral vision that her majesty's hands slid from her lap to her belly. Was she pregnant? She had been very emotional lately so it could be possible.

Yet, she and Chiriu were surprised as the Queen stood up. She took out the crystal cross from her pockets and was about to use it when blue light appeared on the view screen. This immense light enveloped the approaching enemy vessels causing them to explode.

To their amazement, a shining metal blue jet appeared with the tail bearing the insignia of Craiine. It was no other than Zedon. The blue light that appeared obviously came from the Sapphire Sphere.

The crew of the royal vessel cheered on as the Duke of Craiine handled a new set of approaching ships that opened fire. Before Zedon's vessel was hit, a colossal silver dome made of lightning shielded him. Behind his jet was another Fliskan jet in Gunmetal color. It was no other than the prince consort.

Soon, both jets opened communication on the royal vessel.
