Hello, my little earthlings. Here is the next chapter, I'm sorry. I know that it's been long overdue please don't forget to follow, vote, and comment.
I was only eighteen, running away from a group of drunkards when it first happened. It wasn't my fault, it just happened. They caught up to me and it just burst out of me. I didn't mean to hurt them, I was just trying to get away from them.
She froze them. Well all except one, he was running towards them when it happened, and the worst part was that I ran away in fear. Fear from what? I didn't exactly know. All I knew was that I just had to get away from there, as far away as I possibly could.
The next day I saw it on the news, the male news reporter said quote on quote, "Just this morning two men are found in what looks to be still cooling down the ice, and fortunately, there was a witness as to what happened."
He then turned to the guy from last night and asked, "What exactly happened here sir? What exactly did you see that happened here?"
"Well me and my friends -the ones that are frozen- were just walking home and then this girl came out of nowhere, she was wearing a black hoodie and black jeans I think her hair was brownish-red and then she had this ice ball in her hand and all of a sudden they got frozen. I didn't get frozen because I was way behind the group and before I could reach them, she started running away and that's when I called the police." The man stammered out.
"Well, there you have it. It seems like we have some sort of super running around New York. What out everyone, better not get frozen in the middle of the night. Better safe than sorry. Now here is Kira with the rest of the morning news." Then the TV screen switched to a woman wearing a brown dress talking about some other crime that took place downtown.
"Hey missy, better order, you're holding up the line." The barista said, I looked and then remembered that I was in the coffee shop down the road from my apartment.
"Huh," then I looked behind me and was met with an angry-looking man who looked like he desperately needed his morning coffee. I looked back at the barista saying, "Oh, right sorry. I would like a cappuccino with two croissants please."
In less than 5 minutes I had my order and was walking out of the shop toward a park where I knew wouldn't have that many people there.
When I got there I immediately went to the bench near the lake and sat down taking out a croissant and taking a sip of the still-hot cappuccino looking out into the distance.
"Hey,"
"Hi?"
"Mind if I sit here for a while?"
My first thought was yes because I came here to be alone but that would be rude and mean so instead I said no, and then moved over a little to make space for him.
"Thanks," he said as he sat down and there was a moment of silence before he started talking again.
"So, I was just walking around when I saw you and thought if I didn't come here to talk to you then I would later regret it."
"Oh, well...umm...I don't really know what to say so, yeah."
"Okay, well would you like to get lunch with me."
I shook my head and replied with "No, thank you. I kinda already got mine already." I raised my bag of croissants and cappuccino indicating it.
"Oh, well maybe if you give me your number we could go out some other time?" he said with a smile I think he thought was flirtatious.
I stood up picking up my croissants, and coffee getting ready to start walking away and said, "Look I just met you. You're practically a stranger to me but no thanks. So I'm just going to go somewhere I could eat in peace. Bye."
