This modern tale is set in the year 2016 but it contains a lot of flashbacks and memories from previous years.

All the chapters are going to be in Nina's point of view, and there's a reason behind this which I want you guys to figure out, as the book progresses.

The year was 1990 when Prince Blake and his beautiful wife, Lilian, announced their vows in front of the world. Their marriage was the biggest highlight of the year. People from all around the globe watched them on television, cheering and clapping as the royals sealed their lips with a kiss.

However, this was a celebration for the magical land of Arulia as well. You see both Lilian and Blake came from powerful families: Lilian was the daughter of King Jacob and Queen Charlotte, who ruled the realm of fairies in Arulia, in Clouds Castle. And Blake was the son of King Daniel and Queen Ariel, they ruled the realm of mermaids and mermen in Arulia, in Palace of Pearls. So Lilian and Blake's marriage was of upmost significance because it ensured peace amongst the realms, and love between the families.

When the couple married, it was a sight to behold because they transformed into something magical, merfairs. Lilian, who was a fairy, inherited her spouse's tail and vice versa for Blake.

Two years later, they were blessed with their first child, a beautiful baby girl whom they named Princess Natalia Phillips. After the birth of their child, they decided to forget everything to do with the magical world of Arulia and chose to stay in the 'normal, human world' where Blake's family already ruled in Spain, on Earth. Thereafter, Blake's parents passed their royal status to Lilian and Blake, who became known as the King and Queen of Spain.

There was one flaw in their plan. Their children would still transform into merfairs when they turned twenty one, which meant there was no avoiding the talk about Arulia and their true identity.

But Lilian and Blake vowed to give their children a normal life and not to mention anything about it until they turned that age. They even vowed not to transform themselves, or use their powers again, unless it was absolutely necessary.

But on Natalia's first birthday something happened. It was night time and everyone was asleep, except baby Natalia, she was busy playing with a hand mirror when a shadow emerged from the windows and slithered its way in her room. The shadow transformed into a woman, who had gorgeous, blonde curls and a mask on her face.

She tried to steal the baby and was almost successful. But somehow, the baby got saved because that night Lilian had a gut feeling something was about to go wrong, so when she went to check on her daughter she found the woman crouching down to the baby.

That's when her motherly instincts kicked in, she did something she vowed not to do on her wedding day. She transformed herself into a fairy and used her powers to grab the baby.

Before she could use a spell to to freeze the woman, the woman had disappeared. The only thing Lilian saw was the mirror being lifted from Natalia's tiny fists and into the hands on the woman.

From that moment onwards, Lilian and Blake have always been on guard, even after the birth of their twins: Nikolai and Nina Phillips, and their youngest son, Louis Phillips. After years of trying to put an identity on the woman who tried to steal Natalia, they found a lead.

She was the dark force, whom they called the Trixie. A powerful creature with the intention of pure evil. Unfortunately that was the only thing they managed to find out about her, and no one knows of her whereabouts till this very day.

The questions we're dying to find out are: 'Who can the Trixie be?' and 'What was so special about that mirror she stole?'
