At the royal dining room, the Royal Guardians, Lariel and the Shinōkoku royal family were now gathered around the table. Their legs were crossed on the large mat fit for the low-sized table and those coming to sit around it.

Right now, the table was served with a teapot at the center with teacups served for each of them. Right before them, each have a bowl of Miso Ramen with chopsticks on its right side. Aside from that, there were two sets served on both sides of the teapot. One happened to be a set of sushi and the other, a set of sashimi and tempura. A soy sauce with a few other flavors like wasabi were also involved for each of the Royal Guardians, Lariel and the royal family.

Bashiri, Destinee and even Billie had taught the other Royal Guardians how to use chopsticks. Why would Billie know how to use chopsticks? Well, let's find out sooner or later. Right now, they're about to discuss the earlier signs of unlocking specific roles as the Royal Guardians.

"As we all know, unlocking the role as the Royal Guardian takes a huge responsibility. The symbol on the shield behind you represents your role as the Royal Guardian," said Kader.

"Now, there are early signs we know so far about unlocking your specific role. One is the part where you realize what you must do, when there's no other choice. Secondly, once you do what you had to do, you'll find yourself floating. Then, the golden aura surrounds you and the shield's shape will start spinning behind you. The glow's brightness depends on the importance of your purpose in life. If it's the most important, the glow will brighten so much you're forced to shield your eyes," explained Evangeline.

"We all know that in this world, we have flaws and doubts, but you also have the power to wipe the doubts away, let go of the past and focus on what lies ahead," said Destinee. "And that way, when you realize that, you'll finally be able to unlock your specific Royal Guardian role. After the glow's brightness becomes involved, you will turn golden yourself. It's something that's similar to a Super Form, except that... you don't need the seven Chaos Emeralds."

"How does the Super Form process? What are the Chaos Emeralds?" asked Rover.

You could see Lariel on Leo's left side. She was seen facepalming and letting out a low groan upon hearing the two questions from Rover.

"Am I the only one who knows about another world far away from the whole land full of other kingdoms?"

"No. Although, we have only heard of the ancient history of that world and topics related to the Angel Island, the Master Emerald and the seven Chaos Emeralds themselves," answered Destinee referring to herself and the royal family.

"According to what I've heard, the Super Form only occurs when the user becomes empowered by the seven Chaos Emeralds, resulting in increased innate talents while usually granting flight and virtual invulnerability," explained Evangeline.

"And the seven Chaos Emeralds are ancient miracle gems tied to the Master Emerald, which rests on the Angel Island floating in the sky. Without it, the island will fall down. The Master Emerald is guarded by the surviving echidnas. It is protected from those who seek it for their own gain. I have only heard of the last living guardian thru the spirit of his ancestor named Tikal, but unfortunately, we never caught his name," said Kadar as he took a sip of tea.

Then, as he continued eating his Ramen, it was Evangeline's turn to continue the explanation.

"The seven Chaos Emeralds possess powerful properties and abilities. Those that hold the Chaos Emeralds can use them for a variety of things, such as warping time and space, powering machines, and initiating super transformations. Anyone who combines all seven Chaos Emeralds can control unimaginable power. Even when not including their mystical powers, the Chaos Emeralds' monetary value and beauty make them prime targets of treasure hunters who seek to make a mint. That's why it must be kept safe from harm."

"Throughout history, the Chaos Emeralds have been the center of countless world-threatening conflicts and have been targeted by multiple factions on both earth and beyond, who seek them for their near-limitless powers. In the hands of villains they have been used for doomsday weapons and schemes for world domination, and in the hands of heroes they have been used to save the world. Over time, the Emeralds have been gathered multiple times, though they tend to scatter themselves," explained Destinee.

"It seems to me that the power of the Master Emerald and the Chaos Emeralds are used when needed, but it can also lead to destructive consequences," said Leo.

"I agree. Their powers must not fall in the wrong hands," said Intellizo.

"Which is why the Master Emerald must be guarded by the last living echidna in Angel Island," said Kader.

"What happened to the seven Chaos Emeralds?" asked Billie.

"I'm... not sure. For now, it could be scattered everywhere never to be seen again."

With that being said, his head turned to both Bashiri. "After lunch, we'll be having a duel between you and the lead bandit. We must be ready, for Shinōkoku is about to be conquered by a brutal enemy."

"At once," she said in unison.

"Woah-woah-woah, wait. Back up. Are you saying this to them because this kingdom is about to be at stake? What about us? I mean, we're the Royal Guardians after all," said Rover.

"I'm afraid this challenge is meant to be for Bashiri only. You all have different purposes waiting for you to fulfill," said Kader.

"Kader is right, Ro—"

Leo stopped himself when he encountered a death glare from Rover. He knew it certainly meant he had to call him "Nixue" in public. And so...

"I mean, Nixue. It's also our only way to save our energy for completing our mission. Let's hope Bashiri will get through this together."

"Thank you, Leo. I promise you won't regret it," said Bashiri with a grateful smile.

After they ate lunch and drink tea in their teacups, it's time for them — especially Bashiri — to get ready.
