In the Underworld (During the whole battle in Afrikonkryk)...

Runa could hear a conversation as she finally picked up her senses. Her eyes started to flutter open. Through her misty and teary vision was a glowing orange blur laying in front of her. Surrounding it was a brown large muscular figure. He seemed to be talking to a gray and red blur.

Beside him was a light yellow and orange blur and on his other side was a black blur. Somehow, Runa had a weird feeling about this black blur, but not in a good way.

I hope I'm wrong about this, Runa thought.

Runa could still hear words mumbling under their breaths, but to be clear, she had no idea what they're talking about. It's like they're conversing, but she barely caught a single word.

Runa's vision soon became clear and she finally got to see the details of four blurry figures.

The brown blur was a muscular lion. He has chocolate brown mane with a hint of dark brown streak at the bottom. The tips are pure black. He's also tan with his muzzle being a dark shade of yellow. His fluffy part of the tail is the same color as his mane. His eyes are dark brown. He wears black gloves and chocolate brown and white sneakers with a white strap on each sneaker. His soles are dark brown as well.

The other three figures were recognizable!

The light yellow blur was a mobian hedgehog with quills laying down up until her hips, peach muzzle and arms, red-orange forearm-lengthed gloves, orange high heels, and orange silky dress that goes down up until her ankles. She also has light blue eyeshadow and yellow-orange lipstick. Runa recognized her as Bianca the Hedgehog. Aleyah's longtime rival.

Bianca and Aleyah have been longtime rivals since she, her family and Runa went shopping for clothes. Well, Runa had to go with her family 'cause why not? Aleyah wanted to pick up a dress she always wanted in the clothing store in Central City. Obviously, it's the same dress Silver gave her last Christmas. That's when Runa saw the two lookalike yellow hedgehogs fighting for the same dress. Something told Runa that Aleyah and Bianca were not getting along well.

Runa had tried to break up a fight. Even in "friendly" competitions. But still, it kept going on. Especially the contest about collecting the most clothes and worst of all, they were fighting for one thing. Or should I say, one hedgehog? Shadow.

It's a good thing Aleyah learned her lesson and ended up working with Silver and his company. That made Runa wonder... What's up with Bianca anyways?

The gray and red blur was none other than Eclipse the Darkling! Honestly, Runa was not surprised as he was seen in person working with the known Underworlders.

The black cat was also recognizable! He has a bit of a spiky hair with an addition to hair gel and wax. He has hazel eyes and his fur on his body is a bit lighter than pure black on his hair. His muzzle is white. He's wearing a black and white tuxedo outfit. He wears black pants and matching leather shoes.

Uh-oh, Runa thought.

This black cat wasn't just any black cat. He's Runa's obsessive weird stalker, Reuben the Cat!

As for the surroundings, Runa found herself in some sort of cavern. No daylight shone on them. And now, she felt like being... paralyzed. Except for her head. She had no idea why she's like this.

The four figures turned in Runa's direction. Then, evil smirks appear on their faces.

Eclipse was the first to step in her direction. "Well, well, well. Look who's finally awake?"

After a few steps, he came to a stop.

"Hey, sweet cheeks! Miss me?" Reuben waved his hand seductively.

Despite not being able to move, Runa sent death glaring daggers in Reuben's direction. Reuben's hands raised to calm her down, but with no effect because she's still glaring at him.

"Woah, easy there, baby. We're just getting started," Reuben said.

"Tch," Runa scoffed in disgust.

"Is it true you're crushing on Shadow the Hedgehog, too?" Bianca asked Runa, glaring deadly at her.

"What? No, I'm not. We're just friends getting to know each other," answered Runa.

Little did she know, but Bianca did, a slight blush crept onto Runa's cheeks.

"Tell me now! Are you and Shadow together?! Because if you are—!" Bianca started.

Bianca was about to lunge in and attack her, but the lion pulled her back. "No need to get it started, Bianca. We already have her under our control."

Then, Bianca's fiery raging expression turned into a normal one. She then, turned to a lion. "Oh, right. Thanks, Arrogan. We already have her tied up."

"Exactly, Bianca. Exactly."

So the lion's name is Arrogan? Runa thought. Something about him feels... strangely familiar.

Runa looked down at herself. Thick tapes were wrapped around her body. And under them were thick and tight ropes. She attempted to break free from this kind of cage around her body, but no effect was upon herself.

"Oh, there's no escape now. We caught you right-handed," said Arrogan, smirking evilly.

As Runa continued struggling to break free, her eyes sent a deadly glare to Arrogan. "What do you want with me exactly?"

"Oh, isn't it obvious? We kidnapped you to be mine and mine only, my beautiful sweet cheeks," said Reuben still in a usual seductive voice.

With that being said, Reuben did something Runa really, REALLY hates! His finger caressed her chin making her look at him. But her face turned away in anger and disgust.

"And if otherwise..." Arrogan's voice made her head slightly turn to him.

Arrogan approached Runa. Then, his face zoomed closer to hers. His deadly glare shot through hers. The next thing Runa heard sent her in a traumatic fear.

"...we kidnapped you to destroy you."

Runa's eyes widened in shock. Tears of fear filled her eyes, but she managed to hold them in. Her jaw also dropped a little as traumatic fear struck through her. And so, she ended up listening to his words.

"Yes, Runa," said Arrogan as he moved his face away from hers. "This is my plan all along. But I never could've done it without an obsessive man stalking you, Bianca being crazily obsessed with Shadow and Eclipse taking you here."

"What?" Runa muttered to herself, then she asked Eclipse. "Why would you do that?"

"Well, I'm glad you asked," Eclipse answered with an evil smirk. "But the answer will come from the vicious lion himself." As he said the last sentence, he gestured to Arrogan.

Arrogan nodded at Eclipse, smirking evilly. Then, he turned to Runa and explained the whole story.

"It all started out a little over fifty years ago. I was new in the University of Science and Technology. I met your father and he's full of compassion. Since then, we became best friends. We're always lab partners in Chemistry class and Science class. We're also partners in almost every pair-up assignments. After we graduated, we still got along as brothers. I was Professor Lucas' assistant.

"But then, one day... thanks to his inventions, he became popular and everyone loved him. They no longer payed attention to me.

"Since then, I became jealous. I wanted him to pay attention to me and so should others, but they said we have to respect his privacy. And so I decided to get some help. Turns out, I already have."

People only loved him because of his compassion towards them, Runa thought. And how could you get some help when your jealous of my father, Arrogan? Then, after a few moments of deep thought, her eyes widened in realization. Wait, could it be?

"Yes, Runa. Although, I already have inspiration from them. To grab everyone's attention. It all started when the Professor and I were invited by one of the counselors to help them with a debate."

"What kind of debate?" someone asked grabbing everyone's attention.

They all turned to see Comono with Shadow, Savvy, Rouge, Omega, Sara, Bubbles, Lucy, Rosy, Mystico, Shania, Bearace and Juniper behind him.

Junior had been taken to the G.U.N. soldiers to keep him safe. Lucy insisted that he should stay, but they told her it's for his own good. And so, Lucy had told the G.U.N. soldiers to keep Junior safe and return to her once she and the others were done rescuing Runa. They agreed.

The one who asked Arrogan that question was Comono.

As if to respond, an evil smirk appeared on Arrogan's face. He turned to Eclipse, Reuben and Bianca. Then, he gestured them to Comono and the others. "You see them?"

"Of course," said Eclipse.

"Yes," said Reuben.

"Obviously," answered Bianca.

"Good. Now, tell me. Which one of them is the person Runa was created for?" asked Arrogan.

What? Runa thought in a mix of surprise and shock. I'm created for a specific someone?

Runa turned to Comono and the rest of the group. She was analyzing them through clues and things she knew about them. Sara, Bubbles, Lucy, Rouge and Omega were not the case. Same went with the five chao. Now, it all came down to Comono and Shadow. At least their history started earlier than Runa's. Shadow's was over fifty years ago while Comono's... well, Runa may not know his age, but at least Langua mentioned the whole Langcomn history to her and the amulet was owned and created by them. As she analyzed both their histories and what she thought of them, realization suddenly hit her.

Runa let out a mental gasp. Could it be?! I-I-Is he...?

Before anyone could answer, Arrogan suddenly snatched Runa's amulet that was wrapped around her neck this whole time.

"Hey, what are you doing?!" a shrieking voice asked.

Everyone turned to see Langua, rushing after Arrogan and the amulet.

As for Arrogan, he did not answer. Instead, he threw the amulet to the ground and smashed it into shattered pieces with his foot. In one time, everyone gasped in complete shock. The second time made it louder than the first. Then, the third and final time, they were all in total immediate shock. Especially Runa and the two Langcomns.

You could see Arrogan's angry expression as he looked up and turned to the trio. "It is done" was all he could say.

Then all of a sudden, Langua gripped Arrogan's furry chest. Her enraged expression shot at him. "WHAT. WERE. YOU. DOING?!?!?! THIS AMULET IS OUR MOST SACRED ARTIFACT!!!!!"

"Uh, Langua?" Comono started, slightly raising his hand.

Langua's head immediately shot at Comono, "Not now, brother!"

Silence.

In a split second, Langua's head turned back to Arrogan. "AND THIS AMULET IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO ALL OF THE LANGCOMNS AND NOW, YOU SMASHED IT INTO PIECES!!!!!"

"U-Um, Langua? Can you—" Comono started.

Langua head immediately shot her direction towards Comono again. "Why are you butting in, Comono?! Are you going to say something?!"

"The amulet Runa was wearing is the exact replica of the real amulet!" Comono finally answered her question.

Now, this is where every last head turned to Comono in shock. All including Arrogan, Savvy, Reuben, Bianca and even Shadow himself.

"What?" they all asked.

Comono sighed in exhalation. Then, he began to explain the rest of the details after Professor Lucas came to ask for the amulet.

"After Professor Lucas asked for our amulet, he said it's because it's the one thing to complete his experiment. A special experiment in which she has the same common powers as ours."

"An experiment?" asked Bubbles in confusion, then her eyes widened in realization. "Wait, could it be that Runa is the experiment created by Professor Lucas?"

Comono nodded at Bubbles. "Yes, she is. Anyways..."

Comono continued explaining.

"He said there was someone currently asleep in an unknown location. Rumor had said that once this person is awakened, he will bring total destruction to the world, but Professor Lucas didn't believe that. That's why he's in the process of creating an experiment that could help him discover who that person really is. She'll also keep this person company once the discovery is done, then, she'll help everyone see the goodness left inside of him. All including himself. In public, they will know that she is created to help those who cannot defend the world on their own, so that things might not get conflicted and unbalanced once he finished working with his experiment.

"And so, we decided to create the replica of the real Amulet of Communication, just to not get ourselves in trouble. We also got the DNA from one of the Langcomns, so that we can help the Professor finish his experiment.

"After we finished, we gave the replica to the Professor. He bid farewell to us and walked away. After that, I went to comfort Langua saying he's gone, but the details I was trying to tell her were ignored.

"A while ago, we were out there, hunting for the real amulet. Stolen by someone else. Langua was yearning to get it back, for she made a promise to protect it from evil. I thought greed and overprotection are growing inside of her, but she kept telling me and the others to focus on this mission."

As the others listened to their words, almost all of them were completely shocked. Most especially the part where Comono said that "someone was asleep in the unknown location" and that "Runa was created to discover who that someone is." The ones who had the second-most complete shocked expressions were Bianca, Reuben and Langua.

Is she really...? Reuben thought.

No... No, it can't be true, Bianca thought.

Although, Langua felt like she knew, she was still in shock. Sara, Lucy and Bubbles were also shocked because they just discovered that Runa was created to help a certain someone whom they believed to give hope to all humanity.

The ones who had the most complete shocked expressions were Shadow and Runa.

Could it be? Could it be that I'm created for Shadow the Hedgehog? It just... It's no wonder I feel so strange whenever I'm around him! No wonder a force is pulling me to talk to him! Runa thought.

Could it be true? Could it be that she's created... just for me? Shadow thought.

"And yes. The debate," Arrogan said moving Langua's hands away from him, then he continued walking towards Runa. "The debate on who Project: Shadow should be believed to be."

Shadow let out a gasp in shock once he heard the name "Project: Shadow."

"A destructive weapon or something else good," Arrogan said. "They said Shadow is believed to be a threat to the whole world. Luckily for me, I had a plan. And yes, I started the rumor-spreading. About Project: Shadow, but I never specify about this science experiment except for the purpose I 'believed' him to do. My plan was working. Except for one thing.

"Once your father heard about Project: Shadow, it's the complete opposite. He was curious on what he looks like, what his purpose would be and most importantly, knowing who he really is. And when he heard the rumor... he's struggling to believe it. Out of all the family members and those whom he cares about, he's the most-struggled person when it comes to believing what Project: Shadow can do.

"And so... the Professor no longer payed attention to me. He only focused on studying Project: Shadow, despite being a secret science experiment. For ten years, we continued becoming friends and I was still your father's lab assistant. That was until his precious... 'daughter...' arrived."

Arrogan turned to Runa. "That's right. I'm talking about you."

What's got to do with me, Arrogan? I know you're jealous about my father, but can you please tell me why I've never seen you before? Runa thought.

"It all started out when I peeked over the files about what he has been planning for the last ten years. Turns out, rage and anger filled inside of me as I knew what your secret purpose is. And perhaps, you must be realizing this before you're brought here," Arrogan said.

Shadow, Runa thought. I'm created for Shadow. And no. I didn't realize it before I was brought here. I realized it just a while ago.

At the same time, Shadow thought to himself. Me. She's created for me.

This time, both Runa and Shadow knew the reason. The reason why Runa was created for Shadow. Professor Lucas wants Runa to discover who Project: Shadow really is. But Runa discovered him already, but it felt like she barely knew him. Especially his secrets. But it also felt like... she's going to help Shadow protect the world and connect him to other people and mobians.

"That's right, Runa. It's Shadow you're created for. Your father is the very first person in this world to believe Shadow can do good. Since then, I got so angry that I quit my job as his lab assistant and bittered for revenge. Since then, I manipulated other people to pursue my dream to break your connection with Shadow. And that includes Bianca and Reuben."

Arrogan started approaching Runa again. Was he going to do the same thing he did a while ago? No. Instead, he had a blank expression on his face when he told her in a low voice only Runa could hear. "I'm sorry for your loss. Your father and your best friend."

Runa let out a mental gasp again. Wait, how did he...?

"How did I know?" Arrogan asked, echoing Runa's thoughts. "Well, here's my tiny little secret."

Arrogan leaned over to Runa's left ear and whispered, "I had mycomrades... kill them."
