~later on the night~
The rain dried up..yet the raindrops in my eyes never did.
I look through my luggage & I silently thank myself for remembering to pack dresses.
It's a fancy dinner with Jack's closest acquaintances & I'm invited to it unfortunately.
I have to face him & his new fiancé.
I'm happy for him..but it kills me inside.
Because I came solely for us to become a couple again.
It can't happen with the engagement to the princess.
He does have a lot on his shoulders at the moment.
I guess it's fine that he marries her.
He's helping loads of people in the process & I'm happy for him.

I get dressed in my black laced dressy romper.
I question my outfit of choice.
But I keep it on & slip on black heels.
I curl my hair & leave it loose.
I do eyeliner only & I apply mascara.
I put on red lipstick on my lips & I grab my purse.
That I brought along with me & I shove my iPhone in it.
I walk out of my room & Rip's outside waiting for me.
In a suit & tie
"I'm guessing your my date?" I ask smirking
"No madam. I'm here to protect you." He says
"I thought you only protect Jack" I say smiling
"I protect anyone I'm close to" he says & grabs ahold of my hand.
"You are like my daughter" he adds & kisses my cheek
"Thanks dad" I say giggling & walk with him..
-downstairs-
We all sit down & loads of hot men are at the table.
I try to compose myself in a mannered way.
But it's hard with a Channing Tatum lookalike right in front of you.
I watch as Jack plays with Penelope's hair & whispers something in her ear.
She giggles & he hugs her.
I sigh.
All I ever wanted was someone to love.
Someone I could call mine & only mine.
Someone who would sweep me off my feet & make me fall in love.
I was played too many times..to get played again.
I see them together & I wish them nothing but happiness.
But I also wish that was me in his arms.
His perfect built tan arms.
The way he holds her..reminds me of how he used to hold me.
I stand up from the table
"Excuse me I need to take some air" I say & Penelope runs after me
"Are you okay?" She asks
I turn around
"Yes. I need some air please Penelope. I went through a bad heartbreak recently" I say
"Okay I understand I'm here if you need me. I also know a guy who can help" she says
"Like a hit man?" I ask her raising a eyebrow
She shushes me
"Yes...like a hitman." She says giggling & I hug her
I walk away as she walks back inside.
I wander off & end up deep in the forest.
I sit down on a bench with Jack's initials carved in it.
I sigh loudly & shiver a bit.
It's really cold over here & I only packed one jacket.
I can't get it ruined on my first day here.
I feel a hand brush against my arm.
I turn around & I see Jack standing there.
"What are you doing? Go back!" I say
"I can't.." he says frowning
"Why..?" I ask tearing up
"It's clear you love her." I add & he wipes my tears with his thumb
"I love you Kimani. Your the only woman I love..this is all temporary" he says & wraps his arms around me
"Jack this is wrong.." I say trying to move away but I wanna stay in his arms.
"What's wrong? We aren't married yet & we're in the forest. Where no one can see us." He says
"But Penelope & your mom.." I say breathlessly as he kisses down my neck
"Don't worry about them..it's all about you right now" he says & lays me down on the bench.
He kisses me softly & I kiss him back.
I stop him midway & I fix myself quickly
"We shouldn't do this Jack I'm sorry" I say & run away from him.
I walk back to the table & I sit down.
I start eating the food & it's amazing.
I hear
"So what kingdom are you from?" A man asks me
"I'm not royalty I'm from America" I say smiling
"American? Then why are you here? It's a miracle you found this place. They took it off the maps decades ago..or did you try that google earth app you stupid Americans use" he says laughing & rolls his eyes at me.
I sigh & I continue eating.
Bunch of snobs..is all they are.
Penelope signals Rip & Rip takes the guys away from the table.
Penelope moves closer to me.
"I feel like we're gonna be best friends" she says smiling & hugging me tight
"Me too" I say.
I just kissed Jack.
I can't do this..I can't be a homewrecker.
Maybe it's better I tell him tomorrow & leave for good.
So they can marry & I can live my life with my baby.
