Kimani's POV:
~the next day~
I open my eyes due to someone shaking me as I was in my deep slumber.
I see my mother smiling & she taps my shoulder.
"I heard the news. I'm so happy for you princess!" She says
"What news?" I ask her raising a eyebrow
"The baby. I know about it." She says & rubs my stomach
"Yeah..the thing is mom.." I'm interrupted by her
"As long it's not that Gilinsky kid's baby. I'll be happy for you" she says
I stay silent.
"So who's baby is it?" She asks & I stood silent again.
The truth could kill her.
But it's better than lying to her.
She'll find out either which way..
Jack & I started talking again to each other.
I'm plotting a way to see him again.
"Kimani?" She says tapping my shoulder again..
Making me snap out of my thoughts
"Sorry..I dozed off" I say giggling
I decide to tell the truth..
I inhale slowly & I look at my mother.
I stare at everything of her.
Her eyes,her hands & her face in general.
How her eyes wrinkled up every time she smiled.
I haven't seen her smile like this in a long time.
My stepfather is a amazing man but she truly misses my father everyday.
She wishes everyday he stood home instead of leaving.
It was his day off..he didn't have to go to work.
But he decided to go anyway..
A part of me tells me.
She's married to my stepfather..but her heart is still owned by my father.
"Mom..I know you can't stand him. But he's the father" I say holding her hands.
I watch as her eyes go from crinkled up from smiling to her eyes filling up with tears.
Her whole face dropped & she gripped my hands tightly
"Kimani. He's not the one" she says tearing up
"I'm keeping it mom & yes he is the father" I say tearing up now as well..
She shakes her head & stands up
"You rather keep a baby that's out of wedlock then..be married & have a child naturally" she says
"You were cool with your grandchild being made out of wedlock a few seconds ago..before I said it was Jack's" I say
"Exactly..he's bad news Kimani. Trust me I've seen boys like him before in my young age..he's no good. He sweeps you off your feet & then ditches you after hooking up. Because that's how boys are Kimani. A man stays with you no matter what. Dates you then thinks about the future..but these little boys all just want a easy ass to lay with" she says
"I'm not the type to get fooled mom. He's a good guy. He'll be a great father" I say
"Where is he btw? Where does he live?" She asks
"That's none of your business." I say now getting upset.
"I will not call that baby my grandchild." She blurts out as I climb out of my bed.
"Go ahead & shun away your first grandchild. But remember this mother. I'm a woman now...I have complete control over my body. I'm keeping this baby & I'm going to see Jack" I say
"You go see your little boyfriend..don't come running to me later on.." she says yelling slightly
"THIS IS YOUR GRANDCHILD NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY. JACK IS THE FATHER & I know..because he's the one I lost my virginity to that night. That same night I got pregnant." I say frowning looking at her
"I can't believe your treating me like this" I add & push her away.
I start packing my bags.
"No no sweetie I'm sorry forgive me.." she says pleading
"No mom. I'm going to stay with Jack for a while." I say zipping up my luggage.
I walk down the stairs with her telling me off..
as I take every step
"Goodbye mom" I say looking at her
She grabs me & hugs me
"I will not lose you like I lost your father" she says tearing up
"You will only lose me..if you don't acknowledge my baby" I say tearing up
She shakes her head
"He's a hooligan Kimani why can't you see that?" She says
"Bye mom." I say & open the front door
As I walk away from my house.
I turn my head to see the house I lived in for years.
As I'm leaving it to stay with Jack for a while.
At least until this all blows over.
I didn't care..it's summer now.
So I'll have to come back in the fall for school.
~after a long car rides & 2 plane rides~
It's pouring rain outside & I'm drenched in water
I dial up Rip's number
He answers
"Where are you madam?" He asks
"I'm in a forest area. By myself please help." I say frowning.
I'm so lost in this place.
"On my way..btw the forest area your in...is Acorn Village. It's a forest owned by the Gilinsky family" he says
"Oh..okay." I say.
The familiar limo pulls up & Rip quickly grabs towels.
He covers me & helps me climb into the limo.
He shuts the door & climbs into the driver's seat.
"Where to?" He asks
"Gilinsky's castle" I say..
~at the castle~
Rip is covering me with a umbrella as we wait outside the castle.
He bangs the door & a very young & good looking butler opens it
"Ah yes sir Rip you've arrived with a unnamed visitor? Who might you be?" The butler asks eyeing me up & down
"I'm Kimani Rhodes" I say & shake his hand
"She's American too! Hi I'm Julian. I'm British & the youngest butler at the moment" he says smiling.
God his teeth is perfect.
He's perfect in general.
Snap out of it! Your here for Jack.
"How old are you?" I ask him
"I'm 23 madam. How old are you?" He asks me
"Just turned 20" I say
"3 years younger than me." He says giggling
Rip clears his throat
"I'll show you to Prince Gilinsky's room" Rip says
"It was nice meeting you Julian" I say smiling & I follow behind Rip going up the large staircase.
We walk down a long hallway & I see generations of the Gilinsky family in portraits.
We finally reach his room & he opens the door for me.
I walk in & Rip closes the door.
I hear the water running in the bathroom.
I peak my eye through the small gap in the door.
I see him brushing his teeth shirtless.
I sigh lowly & I move away from the door.
I sit at the edge of the bed & I fix my skirt.
I play with my hair a bit to make sure it's still styled.
I hear the water stop & he walks out.
"Omg! Mani!" He says & I throw myself in his arms.
"I missed you" I say leaning closer to him
"I missed you too Mani..badly. I wish I stood forever in America." He says
"Who's this?" I hear a voice say from behind him & I see two ladies.
One that's petite with long dark brown hair like mines only it's wavy.
Her eyes perfectly hazel unlike mines..mine are brown.
She has perfect skin & she looks royalty.
She's looks about my age.
Then I see the mature looking one.
With brown hair & it's long flowing down her back.
She's wearing a wedding ring & she seems to be taking good care of herself.
As she looks great.
"This is my friend from America Kimani" he says frowning
"Baby don't lie" I whisper in his ear
"She mustn't know" he whispers back to me & I raise a eyebrow at him.
What's the secret?
"So you won't mind coming to the engagement dinner tonight would you?" The mature woman says
I stand there shocked & I look over at Jack.
HE'S Engaged?!?!?
What? I'm so confused.
"No I won't.." I say completely lying.
"Lovely i love to meet anyone who knows my lover boy" the young girl says & blows him a kiss.
"Well where will you stay?" The mature woman asks
"I don't really know. I just flown in." I say sighing & looking at the floor.
"You'll stay in one of the guest rooms. They are gorgeous. There's no difference at all from the regular rooms. It's all the same." She says
"Okay thank you miss" I say
"No no sweetie I go by your majesty" she says
"Oh my apologies your his mother? My goodness you look young" I say
"Thank you. You got yourself a charmer" she says
"I better see you at the dinner. Lots of single men are gonna be there. I can help hooking you up with one" the young girl says
"Thanks...I'm sorry my apologies what's your name?" I ask
"My name is Princess Penelope Santos." She says bowing down
"No no..I should be the one to bow." I say smiling & I bow down
"See you there New stranger" she says
"My name is Kimani" I say giggling
"Nice & unique name" she says & they both grab my stuff
"We'll have Rip & Julian set your room up for you." His mom says & they both leave the room.
"Your engaged?!" I say lowly & closing the door
"I'm sorry. I'm forced into this marriage. I found out yesterday!" He says
"Why you two have to be married?" I ask him
"Her kingdom will fall apart & her family's royalty will go down the drain. The townspeople apparently are fleeing from the kingdom searching for jobs & daily essentials. I'm sorry Mani..but my mother has my hands tied. I can't mess this up..I wanna be king one day." He says frowning
I slap his arm hard
"You can be king..on your own terms. Without having to be forced to marry someone you don't love" I say
I stay silent when I hear footsteps coming
Penelope pokes her head out
"Your room's ready. Better rest up for tonight. See you later" she says & leaves closing the door.
"Your marrying that sweet girl & your not even in love with her." I say & I look at him
I twist the knob to his bedroom door & I walk out.
Rip escorts me to my bedroom & I climb into the comfy bed.
I cover myself in the silky sheets & I fall asleep..
Could this day get anymore worse?
I didn't get to tell Jack that I'm pregnant.
He's forced into marrying a beautiful exotic princess.
I have to face him,her & his mother at the engagement dinner tonight.
Lord save me please..
