Kimani's POV:
I don't know if it..was the smell of fresh pancakes cooking
That was filling my senses or the sound of my alarm blaring..
That made me eyes flutter open & roll out of bed..
I walked over to my bathroom & I gasped..
I stood frightened..
It looked like I've seen a ghost.
But instead I saw the hideous sight in the mirror looking back at me.
It was my reflection.
My hair was a mess..
It almost looked like a actual birds nest.
My eyes still baggy from the late night studying..
I had done before falling asleep..
My lips chapped & faded..
I was horrified by the sight..
After soaking in my horrifying appearance..
I turned the knob on the sink & I turned the right knob
Meaning it's cold water spilling through the faucet..
I run my hands under the water & I throw it on my face
I look around to see my bathroom flooded & my sink full of water..
I groaned loudly.
I cleaned up my mess & I looked over at my bathroom clock
"6:30am"
I quickly grab my red toothbrush that has symmetrical blue lines on it
I grab my toothpaste & squeeze some out
I put it on my toothbrush & I start brushing my teeth..
After brushing my teeth..
I reach over & grab my mouthwash
I pour some Listerine in the cup & I gargle it in my mouth..
I wash my mouth out afterwards with water
I walk back into my bedroom & I go through my closet.
I pick out a outfit to wear

I grab my favorite plaid dress & I put it on
After slipping it on.
I look in the mirror with delight..
I put on my gray knitted cardigan & slip on black sneakers
I tie the shoelaces & put on my glasses
I walk over my bed & I shove my books in there.
I walk downstairs & I walk into the kitchen
My mom is making breakfast
"Mom I have to go to right now... Professor Stevens was on my ass last week..for being a minute late." I say rolling my eyes
I can't stand the man.
But I get good grades from his biology class.
So I can't really complain too much.
I guess it's because I push myself to prove him wrong.
"Ugh that grey haired asshole messing with you again?" She says rolling her eyes
"Yes unfortunately..well I better go" I say & kiss her cheek
"Here's your lunch" she says handing me a plastic bag
"Alright thanks mom" I say & stuff it in my backpack
I open the door & I smile at my mom..
"Have a good day today sweetie" she says blowing me a kiss
"I'll try" I say & blow her one back..
I climb into my car & I turn on the car..
I pull out of the driveway & I start driving..
I roll down my window & I let the crisp fall air hit my face..
This is why I love late September.
It's almost October which means it's almost Halloween time.
The air always gets crisp & chilly.
The wind howls at night & your lips can get chapped easily..
If you don't apply chapstick on your lips.
I drive into a Starbucks on my way to campus
I pull into the drive thru
The window rolls down & the barista smiles at me..
"Hello welcome to Starbucks. What would you like to have today?" She asks
"I'll have a vanilla bean frappacino" I say
"That's it?" She asks making sure I'm completely done with my order.
I nod
"Yes that's all" I say smiling
She starts making it & I reach into my wallet
"Your total is $3.40" she says & hands me my fresh vanilla bean
I place it in the cup holder & hand her the cash
After finishing the purchase..
I drive away & start driving the highway straight to my college campus.
Let's get this Monday started.
