*we see people being ready to go. They were just waiting for Raven to give the signal and make the portals. But she was currently talking to other clan leaders, who were currently doing the same. They had their soldiers dressed as Ruby. They had them using revolvers for this fight. Everyone was just waiting for the starting pistol to sound.*

With ruby

*we see her holding Pyrrha's hand. She was dragging her inside a cave where zwei was sleeping before he's sent to eat and kill whoever his master told him to. Pyrrha looked at Ruby, confused as to why they were here*

Pyrrha: Ruby? What's going on?

Ruby: Just.... I'm just giving you an out.

*Ruby said softly, it was her turn to rub her thumb on Pyrrha's knuckles, pyrrha looked at Ruby with a raised eyebrow, wondering what Ruby meant by "an out" she was here to fight, she was already dressed at Ruby, she wasn't gonna leave now. So Pyrrha was quickly becoming annoyed since it looked like Ruby lied to her and didn't trust her enough to do this mission with her.*

Pyrrha: An out?

Ruby: Yes. An out. I'm giving you one last chance to leave before we go to that island

* Ruby said with a sigh, that sigh turned into a frown when pyrrha pulled her hand away, and crossed them, giving Ruby an annoyed look on her face. confused at what Ruby just said. After all of this, she still didn't trust her enough to fight alongside her? She wasn't gonna take that lying down. Not for a second. She wanted to fight, and she wanted Ruby to finally take that step forward of trusting other people, and she was gonna be one of those people.*

Pyrrha: Ruby, what the fuck? You asked for my help, and now what? You suddenly changed your mind?

Ruby: it's not that. I asked for help to show you that I trust you. But this is different.

*Ruby said before stopping, she was holding her tongue, her expression may be calm, but her mind was a jumbled mess of thoughts and emotions, all culminating to one centered idea. Pyrrha should not be involved in this. Ruby did not want Pyrrha involved in this anymore. This game of chicken they were playing went long enough, and Ruby lost. She freely admits that. And now just wants Pyrrha to be safe back at beacon.*

Ruby: I'm giving you a chance to stay in front of the curtain. I'm giving you a chance to still remain naive to what being the rose entails

Pyrrha: Ruby, for the last time. I'm not going anywhere. I've already killed before. I'm not some sort of delicate flower

*pyrrha explained rather annoyed that Ruby was once again treating her as if she was some sort of child. She was Pyrrha Nikos, the champion of Mistral. She has seen death before. Ruby, for her part, shook her head, Pyrrha still didn't understand, didn't fully realize the difference between a battle and a massacre*

Ruby: One guy. Who was tied up. This is completely different, angel. You're fighting with a militia. We are gonna cause a war on that small island, an honest to goodness war.

*Ruby started, and Pyrrha noticed that some emotion appeared on Ruby's face. She was scared, concerned even. She was concerned for her. At least that's what pyrrha would like to belive, there wasn't a whole lot of expression for Pyrrha to grab a hold on. Ruby ran her fingers through her hair as she explained it.*

Ruby: Angel, You'll see things that will haunt you, do things that will follow you into the grave. If you agree, do this. You can never get back what you'll lose

Pyrrha: Ruby. I know that you have to do terrible things sometimes.  But please, put a little faith in me. Trust that I'm mature enough to deal with this. That I'm mature enough to fight by your side

*Pyrrha said, trying to make Ruby see her side of things.  But it didn't work, not even a little. Both girls were equally as stubborn at wanting to help the other in entirely different ways. Ruby sighed deeply as she ran her fingers through her hair again, this time holding her hair tightly at the end*

Ruby: I'm just trying to protect you. You'll be killing people who are in a certain point of view innocent.

Pyrrha: their slavers. They aren't innocent. They're fucking animals.

*pyrrha said with disgust in her tone that she may not hate them as much as Ruby does. Not even close. But she still has distain for people like them. So she was surprised, at what Ruby was saying, and what she said next *

Ruby: Don't do that. Don't dehumanize them. Believe me, it's a slippery slope. Once you do, you won't be able to stop seeing them as animals, as prey, as...merchandise.

*Ruby whispered the last part, remembering how she used to cry at the beginning, how she wanted to go against the major's will, but now? Even without the pills, Ruby feels nothing for the merchandise. She doesn't want that for pyrrha*

Ruby: but at the end of the day, their still humans like us, their just following orders, just doing their jobs.

Pyrrha: A horrific job that shouldn't exist

*pyrrha said with distain, showing enough emotion for the both of them. Ruby nodded, but still, she tried to push Pyrrha from the path she was walking on, all to just help her. Ruby didn't want pyrrha to follow her and didn't want her bubble to go burst.*

Ruby: No argument there. But they're still human beings. Humans with family to go home to, mouths to feed. People they love and who love them back

Pyrrha: Why are you telling me this?

*pyrrha asked with a sigh, leaning against the wall of the cave. Ruby sighed, grabbing Pyrrha's hands, interlocking both of them, with her own. Ruby didn't meet her gaze. She kept looking at the hands that were connected together as they spoke*

Ruby: to deter you or to warn you. That's up to you. That you won't be killing animals, you won't be killing the bad guys you see in the movies. You'll be killing human beings. You'll be taking someone's life, and you'll be taking someone's mother, father, someone's child from them. That's. What You'll be doing in this mission

Pyrrha:.....

*pyrra kept looking at Ruby. This was clearly something Ruby didn't want to experience, but did that mean that she's just supposed to accept it? To make ruby to suffer all alone? Pyrrha didn't think so, and she was about to say that. Until Ruby moved her head up, and Pyrrha saw that Ruby was crying*

Ruby: You're my best friend, pyrrha. I don't want you to live with that weight on your shoulders like I do. So. Again. I'm gonna give you an out. Just say the word. Say it, and you'll be out of here. Say it, and Ren, Nora, and yourself will be saved from the price you have to pay when you take a life. Say you want to be a champion. Not a soldier. I'm begging you. Please say it....

Scene change

At beacon

*we see an angry yang passing around the room. She had her phone next to her ear, hearing the ring ring ring of her phone. She was ready to murder to woman on the other side of the line, for taking so long at picking up. After the 9th time trying, she finally did. *

Raven: What do you want, brat? I'm busy.

Yang: I know why. Jaune just told me. And I would like to know, what the fuck?!

*Yang yelled on the phone, annoying both Weiss and Blake, who both just trying to sleep. Weiss especially thinking of a plan to kill yang so that she could get her beauty sleep. Blake was thinking the same thing but for jaune, since this was his fault. Raven, for her part, just rolled her eyes*

Raven: it's just a mission relax

Yang: I'm part of the clan, so why wasn't I invited? Why wasn't I asked?!

*Yang screamed frustrated, all her summer spend to become part of the clan, to become closer to ruby, and she's still being ignored! Raven sighed, annoyed, and she decided to be bluntly truthful*

Raven: Because neither Ruby nor myself wanted you here. You don't have the strength of character to do what we're going to do

Yang: And what exactly are you going to do?

*Yang growled,  she wanted the details of this mission and she wanted them now, she was entitled do at least that. But Raven didn't see it like that, not at all, and not for a second. She let a bit of anger out in her tone as she spoke*

Raven: Beat your ass if you keep taking to me in such a disrespectful manner. Secondly, I don't have the time, nor the inclination to tell you, what the clan and myself are doing

Yang: Well, you better or I'm telling!

*Yang said in an annoying tone. So much so that everyone in the room was looking at her as if she was some sort of spoiled brat that didn't get her way. And no, Weiss doesn't see the irony in seeing yang like that. Raven gave out a chuckle, not of amusement. But of how unbearable Yang was being*

Raven: Oh, no. I'm so scared. Please, fuck off

Yang: I'm serious. Either you tell me what's going on. Or I'll go to ozpin and Glynda. How do you think those two will react huh?

*Yang asked with a smirk at her face  and a hand on her waist. Her smirk became bigger when she heard Raven groaning loudly on the other side of the phone call. She was really regretting not just turning her phone off*

Raven: My god, you are such a pain in the ass. Why didn't I just swallow your father vinegary, fish tasting jizz. I swear it would've fixed so many things.

Yang: I'm waiting.

*Yang said, not giving Raven an inch. Raven rolled her eyes at her daughter's audacity of her daughter, even if annoyingly so she did feel a little bit of pride on her stubbornness*

Raven: we're going on a dangerous mission on an island where we'll be killing a lot of people to liberate even more people.

Yang: I'm  coming with you guys

*Yang said with a cross of one hand. Raven rolled her eyes as quickly as that pride came. It left quicker than Tai did when she asked him to come live in the tribe with her. As she spoke to yang again with that annoyed tone in her voice*

Raven: No. Nobody wants you here

Yang: either you make a portal right now, or I'll tell everyone what's going on. You would be surprised how fast information can spread. Fast enough that the element of surprise you have will be ruined.

*Yang said with an evil smirk, her smirk become as bit as her face, when she saw a red portal appear in her room. She didn't wait and walked inside of it. Making her teammates groan in relief*

Blake: Thank fuck, we can finally sleep.

Weiss: Amen, do that!

Later on, the mission

*we see Ruby flying on top of a helicopter. It was just her and Raven, as they other groups were getting into position, Raven looked at Ruby, who kept her gaze on the ground, waiting for her drop off*

Raven: Remember. Everyone, but one needs to die. The other teams are ready to start their surprise attack. The second You jump down, there won't be a moment to breathe until it's done

Ruby: I know. Do you think it'll ever end? That slavery will ever be illegal?

*Ruby questioned, her voice a little horsed, Raven did notice the red tear stained of ruby but decided to ignore it since Ruby didn't want to talk about it. Raven didn't shrug. She shook her head since she knew the truth *

Raven: No. You can't take the hate out of humanity. We have giant otherworldly beasts running around, but instead of working together to stop them, we spend time enslaving our own people. Nothing will ever change.

Ruby: Hmm.

*Ruby just answered, as she saw the world pass her by. Raven sat down next to her and hugged Ruby's shoulder. Ruby leaned a bit into Raven's warmth as they watched the clear and relaxing night sea pass them by. Raven glanced at Ruby and gave her a small smirk*

Raven: Don't tell me you're getting optimistic about me?

Ruby: Not on your life. It's just something to think about while we wait, for the drop sight to arrive. It would be a miracle if this side of the world changed to be more like the other side of it.

*Ruby said, thinking of the other side of the world. A side that didn't have Grimm since ozpin wasn't there, Salem left it alone, that didn't have slavery since they believed something so barbaric shouldn't exist. Raven looked at Ruby, a small part of her, call it motherly instincts kicked in for her more than it has ever kicked in for yang*

Raven: My turn to flip it on to you. Ever think of staying at the other side?

Ruby: I'm a legend on borrowed time. I'm not looking for peace. I'm not looking for happiness. I'm gonna spend whatever time I have left sharing my pain and hatred to the world. Taking as many of those scumbags to hell with me.

*Ruby said with a frown. Her crusade wasn't over yet. Not even close. She hasn't shared her pain with nearly enough people yet. Raven nodded as she rubbed Ruby's shoulder a little before separating herself from Ruby and getting up*

Raven: That's the edge lord I've trained. Now go on. Drop site is right under us, I've got my own team to lead

Ruby: Right

* Ruby said as she jumped out of the helicopter, free falling into the heart of this empire. A castle where the fattest cats of this joint lived. This was Ruby's mission,  take out the leadership and their security. Ruby closed her eyes, enjoying the free fall for a moment more than she should've. She turned into a tornado of rose petals and made a straight line to the glass ceiling*
