Ruby pov

*I was sleeping peacefully till I felt something or more specific, someone touched just above my lip, and that same someone pet my hair. I took a deep breath, looking up at the one responsible, that being penny. My penny*

*she smiled softly at me, her beautiful emerald eyes looking down at me, with nothing but love in them*

Penny: Hey. It's time to wake up, darling

Ruby: Darling? Heh. I like that, I like it so much that maybe I'll stay and snuggle for a bit

*I said softly, as I cuddled deeper into her embrace, hiding my face in the crook of her neck and giving her lazy kisses on her neck, making penny giggle with that silly giggle she always does, where her nose gets all crunched up*

Penny: Ruby, you need to wake up

Ruby: I will, I will. Just let me enjoy your warmth a bit longer. Is that such a crime?

*I said with a chuckle, I kept giving my girl little kisses on her neck, making her giggle softly. She moved my head up and kissed my lips. I happily kissed her back. But it was only for a moment, as she let go of my lips, and gave me a closed eyes smile *

Penny: As amazing as that sounds. The crusade is not done yet

Ruby: What?

Real world

*I stretched till I heard my Bones pop, feeling the warm morning sun hitting me directly. I shuffled myself out of the sand that I used to stay warm at night and walked to the fire I made. I took grounded coffee from my satchel and put it in a rusty pot on top of the fire. Next, i took some eggs that I stole on my way back to my home vacuo, on a hot flat stone, and started cooking them.*

Ruby: The crusade is not done yet....

*I said to myself, I must've had a far away look in my eyes since I was an hour from the last known location of my targets, and my baby must've noticed that. I felt my horse push the back of my neck to wake me up from my haze. I took a breath and looked at her, smiling a little to stop the worried look miracle was giving me*

Ruby: I'm fine, baby. Just another mission, you know how they are. Here

*I said, taking an apple from my satchel and giving it to my horse. Miracle ate it out of my hand. She walked to her mat and lay there. Unlike me, she did not like to sleep on the hot sand. I huffed, amused, seeing my horse relax, as I took the eggs out, putting them on stale old bread before eating it. The peaceful morning was interrupted by my second phone, the one that unless I'm in the middle of a fight, I have to answer it, no matter what. So that's what I did*

Major: Guten Morgen, meine Rose. Have you made it to the location

Ruby: I'm an hour away, the problem will be solved, like you asked

*I said in a neutral tone, as I took another hard bite of my sandwich. I shivered a little, hearing the soft chuckle of my boss, which made me roll my eyes. He always had such a flare for the dramatic*

Major: Wunderbar, simply wunderbar. Now, do try not to harm the exterior too much, I would rather not have to sell it at a discount because of dents

Ruby: I'll do my best to work under the conditions you've given me, sir. But you know that not all of your shipments will be delivered to you for a number of reasons

*I said, this wasn't the first time I've had to do this. But I was still covering my bases, so if something goes wrong, I won't be left holding the bag. The major just hummed, I could hear him trimming his fingers on his table*

Major: Oh, that's fine. Just make sure that the majority is. And teach whoever idea it was to take from me, pays a lesson

Ruby: Yes, sir, anything else?

*I asked. As she took another bite of the dry food, I took a sigh as I did her best to swallow what felt like a stone down my throat*

Major: No. Enjoy your eggs sandwich

Ruby:.... Thank you, sir

*I said, hanging up, I finished my dry sandwich and drank a bit of water to wash it down. I got up, holding one of the jackal sisters, I put a finger on my mouth and took it out, raising my hand and putting the wet finger in the air. In a flash, the other hand, the one with the jackal shot at Northwest*

3rd person

*Schrödinger was humming to himself, spying on ruby, with high-tech equipment. He snorted when he saw her shooting in his direction*

Schrödinger: Right. Like that ever gonna

*Schrödinger didn't get to finish that sentence since the bullet hit him right in between the eyes. He fell down, his head exploded by the impact. Schrödinger looked down at all the brain matter and skull fragments of himself, and whistles*

Schrödinger: Verdammt, she got good aim.

*Schrödinger said with a childish giggle, if it wasn't for him being a living paradox, he would be dead right about now*

With Ruby

Ruby pov

*I was on my horse in her dirt bike mode, jumping from one dune to another, having gotten the trail I was looking for. As I jumped another dune, I jumped past my targets and did what jaune called an Akira slide in front of them, though jaune would mention that it shouldn't be called the akira slide, since some other character called lupin the 3rd did the slide first in a movie called the mystery of Mamo. But the point is that i stopped them from walking*

Ruby: My name is Ruby Rose. Otherwise known as the legend, the rose of vacuo. These are my lands. What business have you walking them.

Tani: Praise the gods! Our prayers have been answered! We're a group of slaves from the millennium organization! W.. We managed to escape and made a run for it

*One of my targets said. I looked around at the merchandise that escaped their enclosures and then back to the one who spoke*

Ruby: Seeing as you were the first to speak, I take it that you were the one who organized this little trip?

Tani: Yes. I managed to convince a group of the strongest of us to stage a revolt. After that, it was just a matter of freeing everyone else

*The merchandise explained. I nodded at the explanation as I got off of miracles and gave a specific whistle. The merchandise flinched when they saw the motorbike grow a horse's head and said head turned into a mini gun. But they saw me remain calm, so they remained calm. A mistake that they will pay dearly*

Ruby: How many are you?

Tani: 500. We're a 500 in numbers. Please help us!

*The merchandise said desperately. I gave a short nod as I took out one of the jackal sisters and looked at it. I saw my reflection on the shiny metal as I spoke again*

Ruby: I'll give you this. You're a better person than me. If it were me, I would've made a run for it alone. Then, the major wouldn't have cared. But you didn't. You thought of everyone else, too. You have my respect for that. Now, is there a second in command?

Miura: That would be me? Why?

*Another piece of merchandise asked. The only response he got was the sound of a gunshot. They all saw how the first merchandise fell on the ground unconscious. I saw it. I saw it in their eyes. The shock that their savior the rose of vacuo, the woman said to free slaves, just killed one of them. They wanted to scream, but the sound of the mini gun warming up kept them quiet*

Ruby: Now that the one responsible for this mishap is taken care of. The rest of you? You all have a chance to live on. Ask me how

Miura:.... How?

*The merchandise asked. He still looked traumatized, not that I could blame him. He had a piece of kull and brain fragment in his body, and blood from his buddy I just killed. I put my finger in my chin as if I was in thought*

Ruby: There are a number of ways this can play out. You could all charge at me and attack me. But seeing as unlike you lot, I'm actually trained in fighting, don't have that power blocker on my neck, and oh yeah. I have a mini gun behind me. I don't like your chances with that option. But hey, maybe like 30 of you can survive and escape

Miura: Why are you doing this? You're the rose of vacuo! You're supposed to help us!

*The merchandise screamed to me. Before, I would've gotten crippling guilt from that statement. But now? I felt nothing. Worse than nothing, I felt apathy for the merchandise in front of me*

Ruby: No. I'm supposed to help slaves. Not merchandise. And that's what you all are to me. Merchandise, since If I see you as anything else, I wouldn't be able to get up in the morning.

*I said softly. Honestly, I don't even know if what I said was true or not. It's been such a long time since I've been without noise inside my head that I'm still struggling to find the real me. But one thing I do know is that I don't have the luxury to see them as people. If I do? More people will suffer because of it*

Ruby: You see, the major and I made a deal. He would give me everything I could ever need to free other slaves if I looked the other way when he was involved.

Miura: Please. Please don't do this. We have children with us! A lot of the women with us are with children inside of them!

*The merchandise screamed and got closer. I raised my eyebrow, making him take a step back. He was at least smart enough not to attack me out right. Nor was anyone else, miracle was making sure of that, shooting at the feet at those smart enough, to try and run instead of talking it out. Smart, but ultimately useless, since miracles won't let that happen. I took a breath and shrugged my shoulders*

Ruby: That's a shame. And I'm sorry. But if it makes you feel any better. When I bring you all back, he'll give me the location of a major slave camp, where I'll be able to save 9 thousand slaves. So it's really just a statistic for me. Since if you were in my position, which would you save, and which would you let in cages, 500 or 9 thousand? Who'll also have children and pregnant women with them

Miura: Please. Please. Haven't we suffered enough? Don't we deserve salvation?!

*I said with a neutral expression, neutral tone as I spoke. As if for me, this was nothing more than a normal occurrence. Which for now it wasn't, it was rare for the major to ask this of me. Again, for now. *

Ruby" 3....2....1"

* I thought as the merchandise made their choice, some chose to make a run for it, others decided to fight. It didn't make a difference for me, I turned into a tornado of petals and ran in circles around them, I went faster and faster, making the circle smaller each time. My tornado move sucked the air out of the inside of the hole, making it impossible for them to breath, it wasn't long till most of them were unconscious or close to it. So I stopped. And look at them, waiting to see if anyone would get up, some tried. And those who did I shot them dead. Once things got quiet, I took out my phone and called the major*

Ruby: it's done. The merchandise is found and ready for pickup.

Major: schön. The planes are on their way. Get on my plane so it can take you to my main base of operations

*The major said, as I looked at the sea of people I've condemned and I couldn't muster up the energy to care, maybe because of the pills, maybe because I'm numb do it. But I just could not care. So I just said 2 simple words to the captain to continue my day. Since this is the same as Nora getting a cup of coffee, it's so mundane for me.*

Ruby: Yes, sir.

*I said, hanging up. I turned around, not giving a care about the merchandise, I laid my matt down, so miracle laid down, and I laid down on her, using her stomach as my pillow. I took my phone out and called about the only person who I know won't make me feel anything negative. *

Nora: Hey, Ruby!

Ruby: Hey Nora, tell me about your day. Don't leave any details

*I said and got a lazy smirk when I heard Nora's excited gasp. She started telling me everything that happened with her while I've away. I closed my eyes and just listened, giving out the occasional "uhu" or "what else." Ruby was already feeling a little lighter from hearing what a normal girl should be doing.
