*We see Ruby walking to her room from her therapy session. She was taking the long way to her room, outside in the school flower garden, since She was trapped in her own head, she didn't noticed, or more do the point, she didn't care that people were giving her space, since they were scared of her. She didn't care that yang waved at her, and Ruby just ignored her. She just didn't care. She was trapped on her own mind. Trapped by the sound of laughter, trapped by the face of that girl, she saw one cold atlas day. Her face was blurry. All for the exception of that smile on her face*

*Now that Ruby is without a drop of alcohol in her system, all she can do is think back on things, think back on her regret, all she does when she's alone with her silence, is the think on the what if*

She wanted something that would burn, something that would distract her mind from the silence. She walked to a vending machine and bought a grape soda, opening the soda, not pop. Ruby drank it with an unsatisfied sigh*

Ruby: It just doesn't hit the same... I should've taken Raven's cactus juice when I had the chance

*Ruby said with a soft chuckle to herself. As she returned to her walk to her room, it was still morning. But Ruby was ready for the day to be over, but of course, someone stopped her from reaching her destination*

Velvet: Ruby! Hello!

Ruby: Hm? Ah. Velvet. Hello.

*Ruby said gently, as she looked up and saw the bunny girl with her girlfriend Coco something, ruby couldn't be bothered enough to care. Velvet smiled at her, happy to see her younger friend, but she was surprised at what happened to your face*

Velvet: Ruby? Where are your scales?

Ruby: Gone for now. I'm doing a long con undercover mission. I need to blend in, and my scales are a big fucking red flag, screaming that I'm the rose of vacuo

* Ruby explained, not technically lying. Velvet nodded and couldn't help but scope Ruby's cheeks. Ruby let her do it, even closed her eyes a little while velvet squished them*

Velvet: Ah, so soft and smoother. It's good to see you again. How was your summer?

Ruby: same as any other day of my life. Shooting fellas who need shooting, saving fellas who need saving and feeding fellas who need feeding.....and spending time with... An old flame

*Ruby said softly, velvet looked surprised, seeing the person who saved her have a romantic interest, she couldn't help but feel curious*

Velvet: Oh! How nice. Did the two of you have a good time?

Ruby: Yes. She was... Everything to me. Like I'm sure that Coco behind you is everything to you

*Ruby said with the smallest or smirks, seeing the blush on velvet's face grow so much that even her ears were turning red. Coco snorted, petting velvet's head*

Coco: Yeah. Speaking of. I want to spend time with my everything on a coffee date

Ruby: Cool. I'll talk to you later velvet

*Ruby said as she gave them a small wave at the two girls. Once they were gone, Ruby took a breath and kept walking to her room, feeling the weight on her chest become a little lighter*

Later

* Ruby opened the door to her room, where he saw Pyrrha and Nora there talking to each other. Pyrrha looked at Ruby and smiled at her. Ruby didn't smile back, just gave a short nod of acknowledgment, as she sat down on her bed*

Nora: Hey rubes! How was your session?

Ruby: Same old, same old. Glynda made me open up about myself. She didn't like what she saw.

*Ruby said dismissively, Ruby wasn't about to tell them all the trauma dump she gave Glynda. But Pyrrha being Pyrrha, she gave a worried smile to ruby*

Pyrrha: Oh dear. Is she gonna be alright?

Ruby: Well, she's got a choice. She can either continue to be my therapist and see me for what I truly am.

*Ruby admitted cryptically as she laid down on her bed and just looked up at the ceiling. She was acting differently than before. She had a lot less emotion in her voice for Pyrrha's liking. But she swallowed her tongue and just said one word.*

Pyrrha: Or?

Ruby: Or she can admit that she lost perspective and stopped seeing me as a patient. She gives me to another therapist so that she can keep seeing me as the daughter she lost.

*Ruby said with a shrug. As her mind was eerily quiet, Ruby hated that, as her hand, was twitching to grab the emergency flask, that she kept under the bed Nora spoke up, stopping the silence from overtaking Ruby's mind*

Nora: I would choose keeping you as the daughter. She'll be able to help you more that way.

Ruby: I do also wonder what she'll choose. Guess it doesn't matter. What are you gall gossiping like it was a summer's day?

*Ruby said, letting a bit of her southern accent escape her tired mind. Pyrrha blushed but, at the same time, looked uncomfortable with the subject. Now that Ruby was here,

Pyrrha: Oh, well. We were just talking about me and Jaune

Ruby: Ah. So, how are things between the two of you?

*Ruby asked as she moved her head to look at the two girls. Pyrrha was about to change the conversation, but Nora beat her to the punch, talking before she could*

Nora: Not well, giving that all Pyrrha is doing is complain

Pyrrha: I'm not comparing, and things are going fine. Even if it's a bit slow for my taste

*Pyrrha admitted with a sigh. She did give a quick glance at Ruby to see how she would react when speaking of her love life. But again, there was no reaction. She was slightly worried but pushed it aside, as first day back jitters. It also helped that Nora said something that caught her off guard*

Nora: So he's being a little pussy and won't kiss you?

Pyrrha: That's....a crude way of putting it. But yes

*Pyrrha said surprise, at her ginger friend's vocabulary. Ren for his part just sighed with a shake of his head, not wanting to hear any of this, he got up and left for the first class an hour early. Not one noticed him leaving, while Ruby said what she said as bluntly as she could*

Ruby: Just ask him to kiss you

Pyrrha: I can't do that! It would feel forced! I want it to happen naturally, like when he confessed to me

*Pyrrha said with a dreamy sigh. Since she romanticized the day of the confession. Ruby scoffed and let a small almost a ghost of a chuckle escape her lips*

Ruby: Pretty sure I had a hand in that. I wouldn't call it naturally

Pyrrha: Well, I want this time to happen naturally

*Pyrrha said with a huff, a small blush of embarrassment on her cheeks. Ruby just shrugged and turned around, covering herself up with a blanket*

Ruby: Whatever. I'm gonna take a nap before I'm dragged to classes again. Do not wake me up

Nora: But then, how will you know when classes are about to start?

*Nora asked, as Ruby curled up on herself, and started dozing off, already mentally exhausted, and the day hasn't even started yet*

Ruby: That's the point

* Ruby said, but she didn't close her eyes for long. She felt someone. She felt something hold her hand. She looked and saw them. She saw the sins she's done, all those dead spirits looking right at her, right at her soul*

*Ever since she got used to the effect of the drugs. Ever since she's been sober, ever since things have been quiet, her sins would come up and just stare at her. They wouldn't speak, wouldn't say a damn word. They just stood there, looking at her in eerily silence.*

Ruby" Maybe they don't say anything because they know. They know that there's nothing that can say that will make me feel worse than I already feel every single day."

*Ruby thought as she didn't look away. She knew it was futile. She just kept looking at them as they looked at her. Until Ruby managed to close her eyes and get for a few moments, a dreamless sleep*

Later, with chibi Nora and chibi Pyrrha dragging ruby to class by her feet

Ruby: I hate you both

*Ruby grumbled as her head was on the table with her eyes closed. She wasn't even paying attention to the professor port. But honestly, very few actually do. Nora just gave a goofy smile while Pyrrha shrugged*

Pyrrha: I'm the leader. If you're not here, it reflects badly on me, and then I get punished.

Ruby: Cry me a river.

*Ruby grumbled as she kept having her eyes closed. Pyrrha sighed and tried to pay attention to the best of her abilities. But she was no schnee, Weiss was the only girl in class that had the man's full attention*

Port: And that's! How I saved a small village from a group of elephant grims! Hahaha!! But enough about focusing on the past. Instead, let's focus on the past!

Ruby: I swear to fuck, if he keeps going I'm gonna end him
