30 minutes after the last chapter

*Ruby took a breath and leaned against a tree, breathing heavily since she's been doing 20 minutes straight of intense stamina training. She chuckled softly not even looking at her*

Ruby:I don't love that you know my hiding spots

*Ruby said looking at Pyrrha who was sitting down next to her with a smile. She moved her top half a little and waved to miracle and Zwei, who were sharing the cave, she gave ruby her bottle of pills that ruby as always forgets to take without Pyrrha reminding her, and a bottle of water to wash it down*

Pyrrha:then maybe don't be a creature of habit, kinda makes it easy to know where to look for you. And you know the petals gave you away

Ruby: hm.

*Was all ruby said as she opened the bottle and took her pills, Pyrrha waiting patiently for ruby to finish, last thing she wants is for ruby to make a spit take and spit out the pills on accident*

Pyrrha:it's a pretty morning isn't it? Just the right number of clouds in the sky so the sun doesn't hit us fully just yet

Ruby: speak for yourself, there's nothing better than sleeping under the sun

*Ruby said with a small smirk, giving a yawn that looked as If her jaw was dislocated. Pyrrha rolled her eyes slightly, since she knew ruby was doing that to freak her out. But she was immune to it*

Pyrrha:so....we kissed.

Ruby:....to be fair, I didn't kiss you, you kissed me

*Ruby said both girls are already getting a blush on their faces. Pyrrha looked at ruby, with an annoyed smile, that she was trying to dump all the blame on her*

Pyrrha:true. But you kissed me back

Ruby:....I.... I did I shouldn't have done that. But I don't regret having done it

*Ruby said with a sigh, she knew that kissing her back was wrong, that it went against everything she's been saying, of Pyrrha deserving better. But she was, got off guard and let herself get lost in the kiss*

Pyrrha:if you don't regret it, why do you think you shouldn't have done it

Ruby: because last I checked you have feelings for, pretty boy. And it's better for you, if it stays that way

*Ruby said with her lips pursed, Pyrrha didn't know what to say to make ruby feel better, but she did know what to ask*

Pyrrha:ruby....do you like me? Like romantically

Ruby:I know what you meant angel..... And It doesn't matter what I feel

*Ruby mumbled, feeling butterflies in her stomach and hating it. It didn't help that Pyrrha was rubbing her arm*

Pyrrha:ruby don't say that, of course it does

Ruby:ok. Let's say that I do. Let's say that I've held feelings for you since I got back from fighting that hanma, in the illegal boxing match.

*Ruby said, Pyrrha eyes widen that Ruby's liked him for that long. Completely ignoring that fact that she liked Jaune the first day of school. Ruby looked at her with a frown with a small bit of sadness behind her eyes*

Ruby:Tell me what will that accomplish? Will you say you like me back? Will you just forget about your feelings about, pretty boy, who's a much better match for you?

Pyrrha:ruby....who are you to tell me who's right for me or not?

*Pyrrha asked gaining a small frown of her own, ruby just snorted and looked at Pyrrha with a "are you serious look"*

Ruby:angel, I have problems, you know this better then.... Literally anybody. You don't deserve it to deal with my borderline insane brain. You deserve someone....well normal. That ain't me

Pyrrha:and who told you I want normal?

*Pyrrha asked, not liking how ruby is just downloading herself, ruby just groaned loudly,

Ruby:Pyrrha, stop it. I know what you're trying to do.

Pyrrha:oh? And what do you think that is?

*Pyrrha asked with an innocent face and a small smile, just trying to not make this conversation too awkward*

Ruby:your trying to make me feel better, to make me somehow see that I'm more then worth it, when that's a fucking lie.

*Ruby said, and raised her hand at hand to stop Pyrrha from talking. Pyrrha pursed her lips and let ruby continued*

Ruby:And again, it doesn't matter, because you. Don't. Like. Me. Back. At least not in that way. Tell me I'm wrong?

Pyrrha:I....I don't know, ok?

*Pyrrha admitted, ruby looked at her surprised, and almost angry at that response, since it gave her something that she hated, hope. Since to have hope, is to rely on luck*

Ruby;the fuck you mean you don't know?

Pyrrha:I mean I don't know what I feel ok? I have feelings for jaune, yes. And I've had these feelings all semester. But.... I've also gotten feelings for you, since the Adam mission. That kiss was just....electric for me and... I..It was also my first kiss

*Pyrrha said with a blush, ruby blushed back putting her hands on her thighs. And just looking straight, since she couldn't look Pyrrha in the eyes*

Ruby:.....being a normal girl sucks

Pyrrha:it doesn't have the best moments, I'll agree

*Pyrrha said, both showing just how little they knew about normal romance, for Pyrrha the most romance she ever got was from romance novels, she never really had a normal childhood being used as a trophy by her parents, and for ruby. Well we already know her childhood, but as for romantic relationships it was Penny, but you wouldn't call there relationship normal. Ruby sighed and finally looked at her*

Ruby:yes. I.... I like you Pyrrha, I like you a lot. And...I don't know what to do about it, nor what to do now

Pyrrha:I see. I know the feeling, I also don't know what to do with all these emotions, I uh....i guess you should give me some time to think about my feelings?

*Pyrrha asked, and both blush and looked at miracle, ruby glared at her younger baby, since she was clearly mocking them*

Pyrrha: quite the cheeky little horse isn't she ?

Ruby:yeah she is, and miracle? I'll remember you laughing, next time I come with treats baby girl. And angel? Back to our talk, I still say you should go with pretty boy. He's the safe option, and honestly? The best option. I'm not good for you, I'm not good for anybody, I'm just too brok...I'm too toxic to be in a relationship

*Ruby said with a small frown, not meeting Pyrrha's gaze, since she knows Pyrrha heard the slip up. Pyrrha looked at ruby with concern, she hugged Ruby's shoulder, and pulled her close to her*

Pyrrha:well, I've never been one to walk away from something difficult.

Ruby: Don't give me hope angel, I'm too tired to have that. In the end, we both know who you're gonna pick

*Ruby said with a sigh, she leaned closer to Pyrrha, putting her head on Pyrrha's shoulder. With Pyrrha rubbing Ruby's arm*

Ruby:you know... I had this old friend in the Mojave. He was a pastor, from a religion long since died out. I think he called himself a Catholic, heh I remember he being smug about his religion surviving longer then another called Christianity

*Ruby said with a breathless chuckled, remembering one of the very few male figures that ruby actually likes. Pyrrha just smiled at ruby, seeing her laughing was always a delight*

Ruby:but that doesn't matter right now, the point I was making was, that he told me something about relationship

Pyrrha:he did, did he? What was that? You're obviously bringing it up, because it relates to our little situation right?

*Pyrrha asked, she got a bit bold, and interlocked her hand with Ruby's, ruby didn't pull away. She know she should've, but she allowed herself to live in this small pocket of illusion, if only for a little*

Ruby:mh. He told me "If you feel like having a girlfriend will fill a hole in your life then you are not ready to have a girlfriend. It's irresponsible to put the burden of making yourself feel complete on someone else. A relationship should be an addition to a fulfilling life, not a qualifier for it"

Pyrrha:he sounds like a wise man

*Pyrrha said, ruby hummed and it was her turn to be bold, as she raised their interlocked hand and kissed Pyrrha's knuckles, making Pyrrha blush softly*

Ruby:he was, Shame he was seen as the town's crazy old man. But he's right, if you were to choose me, I would use you...I would use you to feel complete, to feel happy because by God you make me feel happy, you annoy me a lot but you make me feel happy

Pyrrha:I feel like I should be the one saying that to you, Mrs. I don't want to go to therapy

*Pyrrha said with a small smirk, both chuckled a little, even if the atmosphere felt melancholy, it felt like a couple who knew they had to break up, even if they still had feelings for each other*

ruby:you make me happy, but that's also the problem, Instead of finding that happiness, that fulfillment in myself, I would be putting all of that on you, hell to a lesser extent I already do that. And I like you too much, to put you through that. Like I said, I'm just too toxic to be in a relationship with anybody

Pyrrha:maybe, doesn't mean we can't enjoy the now. And just....be

*Pyrrha said softly, Ultimately ruby was right and Pyrrha knew that. She just wasn't in the right state of mind to be in a romantic relationship.*

Ruby:don't we have classes to get to?

Pyrrha:we do. But it's also the last day, we can afford to miss a class or two

*Pyrrha said, ruby hummed in response, and just leaned into Pyrrha's warmth, with Pyrrha positioning herself so that both are in a comfortable position. And they just stay there, looking at the lake cuddling, knowing that being friends, was all they'll ever be. At least for the foreseeable future*
