*After the whole incident in the market, ruby got back control of her senses and took the lead*

Yang:so. Where are you taking us rubes?

Ruby:I..it's too late t...to meet the person w..who contracted us. W...we have to stay t..the night, and I.. it's ruby n..not rubes

*Ruby said with a frown on her face, yang flinched a little and gave a forced smile, and a nervous chuckle*

Yang:right, right sorry

Oobleck:well, taking charge of this conversation before things get too awkward, between the two of you, where are you taking us?

Ruby:m..my boss Bui....building

*Ruby said with a sigh, they were all confused, but ruby didn't say more then that, and if they asked she would clam up, after Pyrrha's little episode when she found out, ruby isn't exactly keen on telling people of her sponsor. They walked into a expensive looking building, inside they saw a blonde boy, the boy looked at ruby and smiled brightly*

Schrödinger:ah rose he...

*Ruby took her gun and shot the boy, exploding his face. Everyone was shocked that she did that, Weiss was more the a little sick since skull fragment and Brain matter landed on her outfit*

Weiss:w...what the hell was that?!

Schrödinger:the passcode of course you silly silly girl!

*Everyone snapped there heads and next to Weiss was Schrödinger looking without worse for wares, he was completely fine, they looked at the corpse but it disappeared, only proof that it was there was the blood, brain matter and skull fragments, ruby ignored them and walked to the elevator pressing the button*

Schrödinger:I know what your all thinking allow me to introduce myself. I am Warrant Officer Schrödinger, semblance Schrodinger's cat, I am both alive and dead at the same time, I'm everywhere and yet I'm nowhere

Oobleck: fascinating, so your a living paradox....

*Oobleck said making the boy smiled nodding his head, they all heard the elevator door opening and ruby whistling at them to hurry up*

Schrödinger:ah poo, you have to leave? What a shame. Well better get going, it's not wise to keep the major waiting

Blake: let's....let's just go up. Ruby seems to know what she's doing

*Blake said, they all collectively nodded and walked to the elevator, they got inside and closed the door, with Schrödinger smiling and waving at them as the door closed*

Yang:well...he was a nice boy

Ruby:man...he's....he's over 80, se.. semblance keeps him young

*Ruby stuttered out, making the other team surprised, and oobleck even more intrigued about the man. They didn't speak as the elevator made it to the top, when the door opened they saw Ruby's boss, a short fat man with a smile that just told you trouble.*

Max:ah miss rose, such a pleasure to see you again, and I see you brought work acquaintances, how charming.

Ruby:we need....shelter for....the night

*Ruby said slowly, struggling but managing to sat without stuttering, knowing better then to show weakness to this demon, max just smiled and snapped his finger and a large man in a faded green trench coat walked to them*

Max: but of course, never let it be knowed that I'm not a merciful man. Captain take this esteemed guests to there quarters for the night, miss rose stay a minute, there things we have to discuss

Captain/ruby:mhm

*The captain moved ahead, with the rest following them, yang glanced at ruby one last time before walking to catch up with the rest. Once gone ruby walked to the major and sat down on the couch opposite his*

Max:now miss rose, since I'm giving you and your acquaintances bed and food all from the generosity of my heart, I expect that you do a favor for me

*The major said, taking his cup of tea and taking a sip of it, giving ruby ample time to think and respond, giving her the illusion of an option. But ruby knew it was an illusion, she knew favor was nothing more then another mission, for her already weak body to go on*

Ruby:details

Max:straight to the point, I've always like that about you. There's family business that's been trying to take over mine, I need them disposed off by tomorrow morning at the latest, don't let a single member of that family alive, do i make myself clear?

*The major said, sliding the details to ruby, ruby took them and nodded*

Ruby:consider the mission completed.

Major: terrific, oh I almost forgot here.

*The major said throwing a bag to ruby, ruby grabbed I and opened it, seeing the other half of her money from the previous mission*

Major:your payment, oh the whole thing was a disaster, especially when you escaped. Yes the schnee name took more then a bit of a hit because of that disaster, I'm sure you must be thrilled about it

Ruby:it was....an experience that's for sure, but what's with the briefcase on the table?

*Ruby asked, and raised an eyebrow when Max got all giddy, he opened the briefcase and showed ruby what was inside*

*Two guns, two modern looking, expensive guns*

Max:consider this a bonus, let me present you to twin sisters the jackals, custom 13 millimeters anti knight combat pistol. It fires custom made rounds, far more powerful then the .357 magnum rounds your used to, 39 centimeters long, 16 kilograms in weight, 6 rounds per magazine. The jackals have more firepower then any human is expected to handle

Ruby:and the rounds?

*Ruby asked, max smiled and tossed one to ruby, she caught it and inspected them*

Max:13 millimeters explosive shells

Ruby:and the tips? Explosive or mercury?

*Ruby asked putting 'self' and 'defense' in the briefcase, she got up and took her belt off*

Max:mercury tips, so much more powerful then the normal ones you use test them out if you don't believe me

*Ruby put the new belt with holster for the sister jackals, she grabbed one of the sisters and shot it at the closet. The door opened and a man fell dead from it. Ruby glanced at Max*

Ruby:having a bit of a rat problem are you?

Max:sadly, no matter how many I kill two more will take there place. But that's just the cost of doing business I'm afraid

*Max said walking to the man and grabbing the recording listening device, destroying it in his hands*

Ruby:why are you really giving me an upgrade?

Max: you've seem to pissed atlas off, more then usual, there coming out with a new knight robot model. More powerful then before, normal bullets just don't work against them anymore, and since I respect your decision of not using dust infused bullets, this is the next best thing

*Max said with a shrug as he sat back down, don't get him wrong, he doesn't care about Ruby's safety in that way, he's just making sure his investment is properly equipped for what's to come, ruby hummed. She was about to leave but the fight she had with Pyrrha before the last mission, came back to her mind. She knows she shouldn't ask, but can't help herself*

Max:problem miss rose? If you want to ask me something, please too this is a safe space

Ruby: what happened with your 300 new... Merchandise

*Ruby said feeling disgust in herself, but didn't let that stopped her, it was a small sacrifice for the greater good. The majority of the slaves were saved, that what matters*

Major:oh them? Somebody already bought them, shipped off to some mining company in mistral, the man and boys will be used for mining, and i imagine that the woman and girls....well they'll be used the same way Jake used you

* Major said with a twisted smirk enjoying every second of watching ruby squirm in place, of her face showing disgust, anger, and ultimately, of her sighing and looking another way defeated. Why was ruby letting this happen? Because Max knew that ruby needed him, she can't save as many slaves without him, so ruby has no choice but to keep her head down, bite her tongue and take it, why is he abusing her emotionally? Because he can, because of shits and giggles, just because he found it entertaining, seeing this hypocrite try to justify her actions with her morals, like I said. He doesn't care about ruby that way, for him? she's just an investment*

Ruby: excuse me, I should check on my team

Major:yes yes, go on ahead, I'll have some food be sent into your rooms

*Ruby nodded, she got up and left, ruby walked to where she knows the other team and teacher is. She opened the door to the room, and as expected they were all surprised at how beautiful the room is, the huge tv, video game system, refreshments, snacks, massage couch, etc. yang saw ruby and smiled*

Yang:hey ruby! So, what did that man wanted to talk do you about ?

Ruby:.....he just wanted to make sure the accomodations were acceptable

*Ruby said walking pass her, yang was surprised, but then concern since ruby didn't stutter, she knew something was wrong with her. Yang knew this was a bad idea but she had to at least try, so she followed ruby to her room, saw her sitting on the bed*

Yang:hey....I...I know I'm not Pyrrha, and I know I'm not high on your list but...

Ruby;just...just shut up and hug me....please

*Ruby whispered softly hugging herself, yang didn't need to be told twice, she walked up to ruby and gave her a hug, with trembling arms, ruby hugged yang back, wrapping her hands around her neck, hiding her face in her hair*

* ruby took a shuttering breath, trying to stop the tears from running, she leaned closer to yang's warmth, the memories of what Jake did to her, was in the front of her mind. The thought that she condemned those woman and girls to the same life she used to have, it was too much that she needed something, anything to block it out, since she doesn't have alcohol, physical affection was a close second.*
