*Ruby yelled thrashing around, ignoring the jolts of pain her body was sending her, whoever was pulling her back didn't waver, her grip just became stronger as in Ruby's mind she was being dragged away from the solution to all her problems*

Hours later

*Yang was looking down at at a sleeping ruby, all the thrashing around caused her to pass out from a mix of exhaustion and pain, she looked at her tear stained face and couldn't help but place her hand on Ruby's cheek, caressing it with her thumb, looking down her shirt, yang could see all the bruises that started growing inside of ruby from the previous mission, penny and jacques did one hell of a number on her. Yang flinched a little when ruby moved her head closer to yang's affection, sadly it was ruined far too soon for the blonde*

Blake: yo yang are you in here?

*Both girls heard Blake's voice, ruby being the light sleeper that she is quickly got up and away from yang, ruby winced holding her sides that felt as if they were burning. Yang got up after her with her hands around ruby in case she needed help, ruby raised a hand keeping yang at a distance and walked to the wall, leaning against it for support, to seem like she was fine, just as Blake walked in*

Blake:hey, oobleck told me to check in on you two

Ruby: we...we're fine, I was ju...just leaving. I'm....I'm starving

*Ruby said with a shrug, yang looked at her with so much concern, but ruby ignored her and walked passed her, acting as if she was ok, when both yang and Blake knew she wasn't*

Blake:what happened to the food and medicine yang brought?

Ruby: pr..pretty sure some...someone got t..to it be..before me

*Ruby said pointing towards Zwei who was licking the floor where the food fell off, Zwei looked up at them then back at the floor licking*

Ruby:you better not puke any of that up boy, cause I am not cleaning after you

*Ruby said talking without a stutter to her pet, she received a huff as a response from Zwei, she gave a weak chuckle and walked slowly to the top floor of the airship, Blake and yang followed behind her until they reached the others*

Oobleck:ah miss rose wonderful! Here!

*Oobleck dashed to her giving ruby a bottle of water and her pills, ruby sighed frustrated*

Ruby:and he...here I th..thought I was fr...free of Glynda's ru..rules

Oobleck: don't be absurd, she gave me a full list of the pills and other needs you have, like your homeworks

*Oobleck said pushing his glassy deeper into his eyes, the light making it block his eyes. Ruby sighed and swallowed her pills gagging at the awful taste*

Ruby:ho...homework? What are...oh fuck me

Oobleck:oh don't worry I won't tell a soul

*Oobleck said with a big smile talking about Ruby's writing exercises, ruby rolled her eyes and walked passed him to the backpack that Glynda made for her and digs through it looking for food*

Jaune:wait, we don't have homework right?

Weiss:oh please say yes!

*Weiss the bookworm said with stars in her eyes, jaune on the other side paled in horror. Oobleck just chuckled*

Oobleck:no no, miss rose has missed almost a month of work, this homework is just so she can catch up

Weiss:oh....wait, so you need a tutor right?!

*Weiss said immediately next to ruby, ruby gulped a little, and glanced at oobleck for help, sadly for ruby it wasn't oobleck who saved her*

Weiss: well do you?!

Yang:Weiss back off, and you tell me I don't respect personal space

*Yang said with a fake smile and she grabbed Weiss's shoulders firmly. Weiss flinched and coughed as yang made her take a step back*

Ruby: I...I'm gonna go c...check o..on Zwei...

*Ruby muttered softly, she grabbed her bag and left quickly. Weiss winced since she finally realizes she crossed a line*

Weiss:ah crap ..

Jaune:yup, real good work there Weiss, nothing tells an antisocial person 'hey let's be friends' like invading there personal privacy

*Jaune said with a roll of his eyes, the 3 of them were surprised that Jaune's tone was so sarcastic, especially that he used it at Weiss.*

Weiss:I'll apologize properly next time I see her, maybe I'll get her some chocolate chip cookies, velvet said she likes those right?

Blake:yes, if you want more information, you'll have to call her team. More specifically Pyrrha, velvet told me how Ruby follows her around like a puppy. Yang before you start it was her words not mine

*Blake said with a sigh, yang bite down on her tongue with a pout, oobleck coughed getting the attention of the students"

Oobleck:yes, well I'm gonna need one of you to tell Miss rose that Will be landing shortly, that was the other reason I told Blake to come get her

Blake:3 2 1 and she's gone isn't she

*Blake said taking her book out and start reading it, the others looked back and just managed to see yang's hair as she went down to get ruby*

With ruby moments before

*Ruby made it down and dropped the backpack next to her, she took a few calming breath and tried to calm down with her eyes closed, she wasn't having a panic attack, but she was close to having one. She felt something wet on her cheek, she grew a small smile as she rubbed her hand on zwei's coat*

Ruby: momma's fine baby, she just....just needs a minute...

*Ruby said softly, Weiss white hair reminded her of Jacques, and the beating he gave her, it doesn't need to be said that it made ruby hate and distrust males even more. Ruby gave a soft disgusted chuckle, disgusted at herself*

Ruby:now even white hair triggers me, God I'm pathetic...

*Ruby muttered to herself, she could feel the voices, clawing, itching there way to the surface, but the sound of footsteps kept them back, at least for now*

Yang:h.. hey ruby, um you ok?

Ruby:I'm fine Xiao long, go back up with your team. I'm gonna be staying here

*Ruby said not having the energy to spit out venom in her tone, yang glanced at where ruby was looking at, where the puddle of wine used to be, yang cleaned it up and threw it all away*

Ruby: I'm gonna take a wild guess that you threw it all out

Yang:sorry, couldn't take the chance. You can't take alcoholic with your medication. You shouldn't be drinking at all for that matter

*Yang muttered the last sentence, but ruby heard her and gave a low and slow cackle*

Ruby:if I asked for your opinion, I would've asked for it....but...

*Ruby bite down, every part of her was telling her otherwise, but ruby knew he had to say it*

Ruby:t..thank you...for helping me on this hump

Yang:oh, o..oh! Yeah no problem! What are sis...w..what are hunters for? We protect people that's what we do, yup that was what I was gonna say in fact

*Yang couldn't stop talking, she started to ramble on. Yang started to sweat thinking of what to Say to stop herself, ruby sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose*

Ruby: Xiao long, shut up and just take the compliment

Yang:shutting up, right, right. Good idea, fantastic idea, uh oobleck said that we'll be landing soon

*Yang said rubbing her arm awkwardly, ruby hummed and wauved her hand dismissively*

Ruby:fine, I'll stay with Zwei till we land. Just let me eat. The pills taste so much worse when I have an empty stomach.

Yang:oh, then I'll keep you company

*Yang said hopeful, ruby glanced at yang then back at the lunch Glynda packed her*

Ruby:do what you want, I couldn't care less...

Yang:great, then I'm gonna sit right here

*Yang sat sitting close to Ruby, her tail started to rattle and yang scooted a bit farther away till the tail stopped moving*

Yang:yup, here is good. Here is very good, this is where I wanted to sit

Ruby:uhu

*Ruby muttered as she kept eating, there they stood in awkward silence, well awkward for the extrovert yang, for the introvert ruby? Not so much, but still to even see ruby, to know she was there. That was enough for yang, at least for now*

Meanwhile at beacon

Ozpin:I really need to give Glynda a raise

*Ozpin muttered to himself as he was a bit swamp doing all the work that normally he would ask glynsa to do, he heard the elevator door opened and ozpin looked up with hope, but was ultimately disappointed as the one in front of him was not Glynda goodwitch, but tai Xiao long*

Ozpin:hello tai, my when was the last time we saw each other?

Tai:that would be at the day of summer's funeral. Remember her? The woman you killed because of your hubris?

*Tai said with a mix of his usual relax attitude but it had hints of venom and hatred behind it, ozpin sighed and took a sip of the horrible coffee he made, another thing Glynda would do for him, ozpin hasn't made a pot of coffee in decades, but that's besides the point. He looked at tai with a raised eyebrow*

Ozpin:I might have pseudo immortality tai, but I'm still human. I make mistake like anyone else, only difference is I have to live with them till the last star in the universe burns out. But I know that's not the reason you are here now is it?

Tai:no. You know what I'm here for, you always know. So why don't you tell me bud

*Tai said leaning forward, his smile gone from his face as ozpin sighed and took another sip. Tai wanted answers and at the very least ozpin owes him an explanation*

Ozpin:you want to know about the rose of vacuo...
