*Ruby screamed as the blade pierced her body, the once green blade turned red being covered by ruby's blood*

* Ruby looked down and couldn't help but smile, Penny's red eyes were gone and she  finally returning to the green eyes she remembered*

Ruby:t.. there's my beautiful girl, took you long enough h...heh...

Penny:r..ruby....

*Penny said in shock, her whole body felt numb, she couldn't feel the tears falling from her face or the blood that ruby coughed landing on her*

Ruby:c.. come on penpen, you know I've always hated to see you cry...

*Ruby said weakly, with a trembling hand ruby started to clean Penny's face, both of them ignored the world around them, they barely noticed how the room started to be filled up by the hunter bodyguards of the acution*

Penny:r..ruby I'm....

Ruby:I..I would love to have a chat penpen r... really i would....

*Ruby said each word becoming harder and harder to spit out as ruby started feeling cold, very cold. Penny looked at ruby and gave her a sad smile that didn't even attempt to reach her eyes*

Penny: but time never been on our side has it Rosy?

Ruby:heh course not, father time is a man, why would he?

*Ruby chuckled as blood started to come down her mouth, ruby with stumbling legs stood up and looked around, they were cornered. And yet ruby was smiling*

Ruby:penny, remember the emergency plan?

Penny:y..yeah but ruby you...

Ruby:I know penpen, I know.

*Ruby said knowing that things looked bleak for her. She could go for a step or 2 but that's about it. So with grin exited to meet her maker as ruby grabbed her hat from the ground and placed it on Penny's head*

Ruby:But my friends will make it, so do me a favor and make sure there safe, it'll mean a lot to me...

*The room was tense as every bodyguard hunter with the exception of a blonde individual in cargo shorts, had there hands on there weapons ready to strike. Ruby closed her eyes and took a breath*

Ruby:guess it's about time me and Jake have a reunion in hell, don't you think?

*Ruby said, the idea of making it to the heaven her old pastor friend told her about, was so imposible in her mind that it was almost laughable*

Ruby"heaven would never take me, they could never accept damaged goods..."

*Ruby thought as she opened her eyes her pupils completely gone as she used every bit of her silver magic to create a big flash blinding everyone except Penny who was prepared*

Pyrrha:what the?! Let go! Ruby!!!

*Ruby heard Pyrrha fight and argue, even if Pyrrha couldn't see it, ruby tipped her hat to her, as the screams got farther and farther away. Ruby took out defense and inspected the Barrel*

Ruby:4 bullets left huh? Guess that'll have to do

*Ruby said as she spins the barrel of her gun enjoying the clicking sound it made as she looked forward at her enemies*

Ruby:i can feel the reaper's scythe on my throat. Wonder which 4 of you will he take with me to see Jake, let's find out!

*Ruby spat out and with what little strength she had left used her semblance to become a tornado of petals.*

Scene change

???:wake up petal, you've sleep enough....

*Ruby heard someone say, it wasn't Jake. No, this was a female voice, with a small groan she opened her eyes, and saw someone she hated as much as Jake*

*her mother, summer Rose herself. Ruby just looked at her in shock, seeing her mother there smiling caused ruby to chuckle, that chuckle turned into laughter and the laughter into full blown hysteria. Ruby even had tears falling from her eyes*

Ruby:oh, why didn't I think of this outcome? Of fucking course the devil wouldn't take me to Jake. No. anything that asshole could do to me, he already did, I'm numb do it at this point. So what does he do to torture me? He Gives me to you! Oh God my sides hurt so much!!

*Ruby said as she holds her sides calming down from her laughter at the situation destiny brought her to. Summer looked at her daughter with nothing but sadness and regret, she walked up to her and tried to touch her reptilian cheek, but ruby quickly slapped it away, her laughter completely died down, and now was just glaring at her mother*

Ruby:don't! Don't You fucking touch me,

*Ruby growled out, this was quickly overwhelming her, as she was so angry she was seething, her body trembling*

Ruby:so what? Is this the part where you pour your heart out to me? Is this where you tell me how sorry you are, how you never meant for any of this to happen huh?!

*Ruby said her voice rising as she shortened the distance, ruby was glaring up with nothing but hatred behind her eyes looking at her mother*

Ruby:how you did it for the greater good?! Go ahead tell me! Tell me that you did it for the greater good!!

*Ruby screamed as Tears started to fall from Ruby's face, her voice was cracking with every word. And what pissed her off more is the fact that summer didn't speak, she didn't respond she just kept looking down at her with those eyes, that showed something that ruby hated, pity.*

Ruby:is this the part where you beg for my forgiveness? Where you tell me I should forgive yang, tai and all the rest in our curse of a family. Cause I'm telling you this now, I'm not gonna do that, and you know why?

*Ruby grabbed summer's cloak and pulled her down to eye level, so that summer could get a good long look at her daughter, destroyed face, so she could see the skin that was replaced by reptilian skin, so that she could look nowhere else but at her eyes, not the normal eyes she had when she was a baby, but cold predatory snake eyes*

Ruby: i was a slave!! because YOU wanted to play hero!! I was a husk for 4 years because you loved the limelight more then you loved being a mother!!, i have a alcohol addiction because of your actions!! I have to drink away everything that makes me me, because I hate what I'm actually am! Because you couldn't tell ozpin no! I was fucking RAPED!!!! I was used a Jake's personal sex toy! I wasn't even 10 for fucks sake I wasn't even 6 when I lost my virginity!! All Because you didn't love me enough to stay!!

*Ruby pushed who she saw as a disgust of a human being away from her and hugged herself, it was too late to put the genie back in the bottle, ruby was full on wailing while here mother just watched*

Ruby:well fucking say something!!!

*Ruby screamed out with whatever energy she had left, she collapsed on the ground hugging herself and just crying, wailing, her emotions left absolutely raw. Summer just walked up to her slowly, the tone in her voice not changing*

Summer:no matter what I say, you'll never believe me. I could apologize, I could say your projecting, I could say your absolutely right about everything. And it wouldn't matter, since there's absolutely nothing I can say to make any of this better.

*Summer said calmly, she just looked at her daughter who was having, a complete and total mental breakdown. Seeing summer rose, the woman ruby see as the catalyst of everything that happened to her*

Summer:what happened to you, what's happening to everyone who's currently in the situation you used to be, it's absolutely horrible and there's no excuse over what people like ozpin, ironwood, and yes even me allow to happen or turn a blind eye do it, since it didn't affect us, until it did

*Summer started walking closer to ruby again, ruby ended up making herself into a ball hugging her legs, she honestly didn't have it in her to keep Fighting anymore*

Summer:but even if you'll never forgive me, even if you despise and hate me till your last day. Know that I love you ruby, I left because I wanted to protect you and yang, I can see now that was a horrible mistake on my and everyone else's part

*Summer heard a wet snort as a response and she sat next to her. Ruby didn't push her away didn't even move*

Summer:I want you to know that I'm so proud of what you managed to do as the rose of vacuo, how many people are now living a free life at the other side of the world because of you, I couldn't be prouder of you if I tried. But what I'm most proud of is that you haven't given up, even if you deny it, I know there's still a part of you that fights every day to stay alive, I know you want to have friends, I know you have feelings for Pyrrha and the new penny but can't decide who to pick. I had the same problem between your father and raven

Ruby:ew....

*Summer chuckled softly as she hugged Ruby's shoulder and pulled her in closer, ruby didn't react and she let it happen. Summer kissed her daughter's forehead as ruby started to disappear*

Summer:looks like we're running out of time, I know you just want a normal life but you can't have it because you put the needs of saving the slaves first, but please if you take anything out of this, don't make the same mistake I did. Don't choose to put your civilian life for later, since later might never come. Find a better balance then I did. Goodbye ruby, I love you....

*Summer said as her daughter turned to dust returning to the world of the living*

Back to the mission

2 hours later

*Dying to save slaves, dying protect her friends, dying in one last stand, dying for penny. Ruby was ready for it, a death fit for someone like her. But sadly that's not where her story ends, ruby was awoken by someone splashing a bucket of cold water on her body. Ruby hissed and moved only to instantly regret it by the searing pain that shot through her body*

Ruby:argh....

*Ruby groaned feeling excruciating pain on her chest, she slowly looked around and let out a low growl, after so many years, so many close calls ruby's luck ran out. Ruby rose was locked in a cage again. Her misery didn't last long as the door opened and ruby heard footsteps walking towards her*

Ironwood:it's been a long time rose of vacuo, we have so much to catch up
