Author note: So! I was playing baldur's gate 3 and guess who's game file got corrupted after 59 HOURS!, so while I wallow in self-pity, you all getting this chapter a few hours early, since the comments from the people who write them (you all know who you are) always cheer me up

Information:Neo's Semblance: "Overactive Imagination", allows her to create "physical illusions that can be seen by everyone". These illusions are highly convincing and shatter like glass when she dispels them, or someone breaks them.

Now on to the story

*Ruby was frozen in place in a state of shock seeing someone who should be dead, next to the red eye penny. A green eye penny appeared, this one being completely made from Ruby's fractured brain*

Green penny:my, she looks completely like me. Only she doesn't have bullet holes in her body

Ruby:this...this isn't possible, she died! She died in my arms!

*Ruby yelled glaring at winter, her eyes demanding an explanation but getting none. Penny frowned deeply at Ruby's statement and she dashed towards her. Neo pushed ruby out of the way of the attack and signed as fast as she could*

Neo'focus!!'

Green penny:I believe it is best that you listen to your friend. Wouldn't want to get her killed too now do you?

*The fake penny spat, ruby was in a daze over seeing her best friend alive and well, her fracture mind not being able to handle it hense making fake penny appear. Red penny landed perfectly next to winter taking her weapon out holding a green sword *

Penny:my calculations were incorrect, I won't fail next time

Winter:you better not.

*Ruby glared at winter for taking such a harsh tone to penny, but red penny didn't react, she remained looking at ruby with an angry scowl*

Neo'looks like we'll have to fight our way out of this one, who do you want to kill?'

Green Penny:you already let me die once, might as well kill me for real this time

Ruby:neo, take care of winter. I need to fight penny alone

*Ruby said with a scowl on her own face looking at red Penny, even if fighting her was the last thing ruby wanted to do. She wasn't giving a choice on the matter, neo just nodded and looked at winter who took out her sword a single edged, slightly curved blade. Neo smirked and did the same taking out her long thin blade that was hidden within the longest of her Parasol's tube*

Winter:penny, you are ordered to bring your killer and her accomplice

Ruby:My my don't we have a mouth on yah?

Green Penny:a mouth that speaks the truth, since you did let me die

*Ruby hissed at winter or green penny, ruby didn't quite know, since she was starting to lose her grip with reality, her glare becoming more hateful looking at the true killer of penny. Penny and Winter both dashed towards ruby and neo, winter got there first and pierced neo, but something happened that surprised both of them. Ruby and Neo shattered into glass shards before there very eyes.*

*Winter gave a low growl and snapped her head at penny*

Winter:find them now

Penny:on it

Meanwhile with ruby and neo

*We see a black hair girl and a girl with a red hood hiding out, to make sure they weren't found so easily, neo disguised both of them completely*

Neo'well, that is certainly a wrench in our plans'

*We see them in a closet behind huge crates that hid them as long as they didn't move. neo looking at ruby expectantly for a response, ruby on the other hand was looking at the ground, her body trembling a little over what happened, more specifically what she saw*

Ruby:she's dead, I know she's dead. She HAS to be dead

Neo'or just ignore me, that's cool too'

*Neo signed with a sigh, not doing anything to help Ruby's mental state, since well she couldn't exactly move. Ruby on the other hand kept repeating the memory in her head, trying to find something, anything that could explain away, penny suddenly coming back to the world of the living. All the while green eye penny was just looking at her, she wasn't talking, just looking at her as her shirt slowly started to be covered with red. Ruby needed answers and she needs them fast before she losses what little bit of her mind she has left*

Ruby:I need answers, and I need them now.

Neo'need I remind you, we are on a mission?'

Ruby' fuck ozpin and fuck the mission. This is more important'

*Ruby finally started signing back, neo had to control the smirk from escaping her body, since this is what she wanted.*

Neo'fine, since we're friends I'll help you out. What do you want to do?

Ruby' I'm gonna go get my answers, go find the others, tell them to prepare for a fight'

*Before neo could ask more ruby did something she shouldn't have, she exploded into a tornado of petals and escape through the bar windows. Neo sighed and used her semblance again to disguise herself as some rich pig and started walking out of the room*

Meanwhile with ruby

*Ruby landed safely holding her sides in pain. She winced slightly and leaned against the wall to catch her breath, she felt as if her lungs were on fire. But she didn't let that stop her, she walked ahead heading to the door ironwood walked in moments before. She made it and slashed with her reptilian hand the handle breaking it and allowing her access to the inside. Ruby didn't wait and kicked opened the door, the man inside quickly got up*

Jacques schnee:what is the

*Jacques quickly shut his mouth when ruby pointed her gun at him. Ruby glared as he looked around, the man stood alone*

Ruby: where's ironwood, better start squealing, I haven't shot anything in almost a month. And my trigger finger is itchy

Jacques:he went to investigate this rose of vacuo person. Seeing as you match the description I'm not gonna bother asking who are

*Jacques said sitting back down when ruby signaled him to. Ruby walked up to the man masking her pain that was slowly growing*

Ruby:now, call ironwood here. You are gonna play the part of my voice...

Scene change

*Ironwood opened the door and saw Jacques there alone, he walked up to him and sat down on the chair opposite Jacques's office desk*

Ironwood:there still no sign of the rose of vacuo, Mr. Shcnee, I may be working for you at this moment, but capturing her is a matter of the highest importance, it's a matter of national security

Jacques:I'm sorry I forget where's the part that I'm supposed to care?

*Jacques said completely normally, while under the desk ruby had a gun on his crotch*

Jacques;now that...penny girl, she's quite the impressive individual. I do hope she was worth the half a 700 million dollars I had to she'll our, so that you could have your toy

*Jacques grunted when ruby pushed the gun deeper, making it clear to Jacques to choose his words carefully*

Ironwood:she is worth every lien sir. The good doctor spared no expensive, into making this penny a weapon that won't be surpassed for centuries to come

Jacques:really? Do tell me more. Give me the origin of this penny girl

*Jacques said as a bit of a cold sweat started falling from Jacques forehead, ruby heard ironwood sigh*

Ironwood:it's partially my fault. I needed someone to find this rose of vacuo and capture her, the only person available was the daughter of the head of engineering. She gladly accepted as it was for the greater good of the country, and so she went undercover, for over a year to gain the rose's trust, till the day we were sure that the terrorist trusted penny completely

*Flashes of events started playing out on Ruby's memories, all the good times she had with penny, it almost brought a tear to her eye. But she kept quiet as ironwood continued*

Ironwood: unfortunately, penny caught feelings for this outlaw, this terrorist that's trying to destroy our way of life. So on the day of the rose's capture, penny was a casualty. Her father filled with sorrow and guilt refused to let her go, he refused to let her die so young. So he rebuilt her, in the most literal of sense. He created life, created a self aware Artificial intelligence with all the memories of his daughter, since that was the closest he would ever be to having her again. Seeing as we weren't about to lose 700 million dollars on a girl, I forced the engineer to make her into an unstoppable killing machine that is under the control of the atlas military. An astro girl if you will. I am completely confident in saying that this new penny will be the weapon that will kill salem

Ruby"so robot penny is a slave, but how can I save her?"

Jacques;I see, so she has all her memories? Including the ones of the mission? Of the feelings of that disgusting creature?

*Jacques asked playing along with ruby's little game, he wasn't the CEO of the one of the biggest organization in all of remnant for nothing,he knew that was what ruby wanted to know the most. Ruby heard ironwood sigh again this time of disappointment*

Ironwood: unfortunately, we couldn't erase the memory of that mission or of the rose of vacuo,we could only seal it away and place a fake one inside of her brain, for all penny knows, winter and Ruby's positions were swapped and ruby was the one that shot her. I assume you'll keep that do yourself? Wouldn't want all your money go to waste if she finds out the....

*Before ironwood could finish, The floor under them was broken, ironwood was quick to take his gun out and point it, he was surprised, up in the air was penny holding/choking ruby rose aka the rose of vacuo. Ruby was struggling to breath as she tried to use her reptilian hand to free herself, but Penny wouldn't budge. Her grip was beyond contradiction, all ruby could do is look into Penny cold uncaring red eyes*

Penny:target acquired. Awaiting commands
