*The potato sack was ripped out of Ruby's head, the light blinded her but she quickly regain her composure*

Before

*Ruby was glancing outside the window seeing the world fly by them. She felt a hand on her shoulder, she glanced and saw Pyrrha looking at her with concern*

Pyrrha:are you ok?

*Pyrrha whispered to ruby so that the others couldn't see Ruby's troubles, ruby glanced back at the window*

Ruby:my tooth is aching, something is gonna go wrong, I can feel it

Pyrrha:...  I see, didn't know you were superstitious

*Pyrrha said with a grin, she could see the slightest link on Ruby's cheeks when she coughed softly, and then grew a smirk of her own*

Ruby:this coming from the girl that kisses her amulet before every fight?

Pyrrha:....touche

*Pyrrha mumbled with her own blush, ruby looked at her confused over the word she just said*

Ruby;huh?

Pyrrha:it means well played

Ruby:ah, right then.

*Ruby said with a light frown, she felt stupid for not knowing something so simple, but she did a good job of hiding it*

Cinder:so, ruby. Your a bit of an expert when it comes to freeing slaves, what can we expect ?

Ruby:if this was vacuo I would say lots of armed guards, since they know there's a good chance I'll make an appearance. But over this neck of the woods? Security will be light but that's not necessary a good thing

*Ruby said with holding her chin in thought, she rubbed it feeling the mix of the smooth human skin and the rough snake skin to keep her grounded*

Ruby:less security means that ones that are there will be extra powerful, the rich pigs likes to show off that "i have the strongest hunter working for me"

*Ruby said mimicking a voice of a rich snob*

Meanwhile in beacon

Weiss:achoo!

*Weiss sneezed, Jaune looked at her and smiled*

Jaune:I guess someone is talking about you

Weiss:not surprising seeing how amazingly beautiful I am

Back to the mission

Cinder:so we must keep the fighting to a minimum, or better yet to zero

*Cinder looked at mercury and Pyrrha looked at Nora, both oblivious of there leader judgmental eyes*

Ruby:also no dust, and no semblance. They have this things that can alert them when someone uses it. We need to be stealthy and  quick, by the time we get there around 300 of the 2000 slaves will already be bought off

Neo'that's oddly specific'

*Neo signed, the missing information that ruby was keeping from them, was that those 300 slaves are the ones the major will be buying, 300 souls that won't get to be free*

Ruby:I made the calculations, giving the time it starts and the time we'll get there around 300 will already be sold off. After that they'll take a break to dance and socialize, that's when we'll strike and free the remaining slaves

Emerald:ok, so. What are the positions?

*Emerald asked as she was busy changing the dust bullets on her weapon for regular bullets, ruby glanced at Pyrrha, Pyrrha glanced at her confused, ruby sighed and coughed*

Ruby:well I'm sure the LEADER of this mission knows what part we'll all be playing right angel?

Pyrrha:o..oh! R..right!

*Pyrrha stammered embarrassed, ruby, neo, mercury and Nora chuckled at Pyrrha's embarrassment*

Pyrrha:ejem, cinder and me will socialize with the buyers both of us are from there class of life so we'll fit in just fine. mercury and Nora will be your bodyguards, they fit the description of them the most, Nora with her big hammer, and mercury with that hole vibe he gives out. And I mean that as I compliment

Mercury:and that's how I took it honey

*Mercury said with a wink, he quickly looked the other way whistling when he saw ruby reaching for her gun, the threat was loud and clear*

Ruby"only I get to call her pet names like that, and what the hell does vibe mean?"

Pyrrha:Emerald and Ren will stay outside as look outs to warn us if anyone's coming

Ruby:that leaves me and neo as the ones doing the dirty work. Both of us are the experts in Stealth, so hopefully it'll mean that the chances of success will be higher

*Ruby finished, neo nodded and winked at ruby, ruby smirked and blew her a little kiss. Both of them were playing there part and playing them well. Ruby looked back at the window as the ship started to land, the smirk she had started to disappear as the slightest bit of concern started to creep in*

Ruby"and hopefully the toothache will be wrong this time"

Scene change

*The 2 teams were at the back of a pick up truck, they were almost to there destination, the cold air felt lovely for most, but ruby despised it, she kept her hands in the pockets of her coat, her bandana covering the lower part of her face, and had her hat dipped down to protect part of her upper half. It was a silent ride, save for ruby's soft singing*

Ruby:The only sound within the room, is the falling of each tear I think about the thing I've done, I know it wasn't right
They'll bury Flo tomorrow, but they're hanging me tonight, They're hanging me tonight.....

Mercury:do you know anything other then old Western song?

*Ruby took a hand out of her pocket, even with her glove the cold Air still felt like small pin needles to her, she raised her hat and looked at mercury*

Ruby;I'm from the South, so what the fuck do you think? Besides Marty Robbins was a national treasure, nothing you guys have now can compare to his music

Pyrrha:you certainly like them

Flashback

*Ruby was alone, Jake went on some mission and ordered ruby to stay in the house, ruby felt her stomach grumble again in hunger, and ruby felt the pain of that. But couldn't eat a thing, not without permission from her master, the only thing ruby had to distract herself from the hunger was the gramophone playing Marty Robbins*

Gramophone:Out in the West Texas town of El Paso I fell in love with a Mexican girl

*In Ruby's husk of a mind the world started to change as it started imagining the small shack was the town on El Paso*

Gramophone:Nighttime would find me in Rosa's cantina Music would play and Felina would whirl

*Ruby would watch the fated felina dancing around her, her dance was so hypnotic. It made ruby for a moment forget her hunger*

Gramophone:Blacker than night were the eyes of Felina Wicked and evil while casting a spell My love was deep for this Mexican maiden I was in love, but in vain I could tell

Back to the present

Ruby:....like I said nothing is better then Mary Robbins

*Ruby said her tone a bit softer as the memories of her only joy of that life was filling her head. She shook her head and shot mercury a nasty glare*

Ruby:now shut the hell up and just enjoy the music, we're almost there. Just let me enjoy my music

Mercury:ok, but why don't you listen do your music with some headphones or something?

*Mercury asked with a shrug, ruby looked at him with a raised eyebrow definitely confused*

Ruby:what in Sam Hill are headphones? I'm guessing something you connect to that scroll thing?

Pyrrha:yes, remember how the scroll can play music?

*Pyrrha asked gently, ruby turned her attention to Pyrrha always with that smile that made ruby squirm*

Ruby;not as good as my gramophone can play, but yes

Pyrrha:well you plug in headphones on the scroll and you can listen to music privately, here I have a pair, give me your scroll

Ruby:.........

*Ruby glanced at the moving city with a low "Mr. Shorty" whistle on her lips. Pyrrha sighed and gave ruby a face a mother gives when her child forgets something at home*

Pyrrha;.....ruby where is your scroll?

Ruby:I... might've left it at Glynda's house. I don't ever use the darn thing anyways, so what's the harm?

*Ruby said with a dismissive hand, but she did scoot closer to neo and farther away from Pyrrha. Neo snickered softly and touched Ruby's elbow, ruby glanced at her*

Neo'i actually liked the song, can you keep singing it?

Ruby:at least someone here appreciates good music

Neo'good music and a better singer'

*Neo said with a wink, ruby chuckled and rubbed the back of her neck*

Ruby'now your just trying to make little fucked up me blush

Ruby:That night he came and took my Flo, and headed in to town I knew I had to find this man, and try to gun him down As I walked by a dim café, and I looked through the door I saw my Flo with her new love and I couldn't stand no more I couldn't stand no more

*Ruby kept singing till they got there, there missing was only just begining and unfortunately for ruby her past was about to catch up with her once more on this night*
