*Ruby felt a hand on her shoulder and she took a breath stopping the story before it got graphic. Ruby cleaned her tears and took a few breaths*

Ruby:4 years...i was trapped in that husk of a state for 4 out of the 6 years I was a slave do that prick with absolutely no way to escape or fight back

*Ruby said with a sniffle as she rubbed the scar of that damn chip, Pyrrha didn't know what to say, nothing that she could say would make ruby feel better. So she just rubbed her back*

Ruby:i....I wasn't supposed to survive, when Jake died I was supposed to die with him, I knew that if he died, the chip would kill me since my master was dead. I knew I would die with him and I just didn't care, death was better then that life and i welcomed it

*Ruby's body started to tremble remembering that day, the day she thought she would finally be free, only to be shackled with a different pair of cuffs*

Ruby:but....but the chip malfunction. I know this since it electrocuted my brain, after that I lived on, the side affects at least from what i know are the hallucinations, the unending nightmares i have to live every time I go to sleep sober.

Pyrrha:so the cactus juice....

*Ruby gave a hollow chuckle as she took the empty flask from her pocket, like her bandana and gloves, the flask quickly became another physical coping mechanism*

Ruby:it took me a while, but soon found out alcohol shuts them both the chip and my brain up, it's why I'm drunk every single day since it's the only way I can make it through it without pulling the trigger on myself. It... doesn't make me forget, but it makes things fuzzy to the point i can pretend I'm fine for a few hours,

Pyrrha:and...when you come off the alcohol high?

Ruby:I become the girl your talking to right now, I'm not the rose of vacuo fearless outlaw. I'm ruby rose the broken mess, hense why I drink every day. I....I hate myself, I hate the real me, I hate how I feel when I get off that high so I keep drinking so I don't have to feel this way I...

*Ruby rubbed her eyes furiously trying to clean all the tears that break through the cracks. Ruby took a breath before continuing*

Ruby:I...I honestly don't know when it's the chip or if it's my brain when they come, either way doesn't make a lick of different I'm broken beyond repair either way... But then again I'm just property if I break people can just replace me, buy the newest model

*Ruby said with a hollow laugh, with a bitter look on her face when Pyrrha wrapped her hand on her shoulder and pulled her closer, Ruby sniffled a little as she cuddled closer to pyrrha's warmth. Pyrrha was seeing the real ruby, the broken scared little girl that she hides from the world*

Pyrrha:ruby I'm...I'm so sorry.

Ruby:it's fine, not like anyone can do anything to take that damn chip out of me anymore

*Ruby said with a sigh looking outside the cave at the setting sun. Pyrrha's warmth and zwei's warmth both helping her lull her to sleep*

Pyrrha:but, what if we find the doctor? If we could find him, I'm sure he could take the chip out of you and....

Ruby: he's dead. I know since I killed him

*Ruby said with a shrug, she could tell pyrrha was looking down at her but she didn't meet her gaze*

Ruby:it... Was a small sacrifice, to make sure no one else has to suffer through this. After Jake died, I made sure the doctor and his research died with him, so that James can't take the will of anyone else.

*The picture became clearer and ruby could see Penny's corpse bleeding out while ruby's helpless to do anything but just lay there and watch her bleed out*

Ruby: Not like I would've said yes even if you did find him, how could I possibly trust that he wouldn't just try to kill me or worse make me a mindless husk again

Pyrrha:I guess, I just wish I could help you in some way

Ruby:you help me plenty,

*Pyrrha glanced at ruby surprised, ruby wasn't looking at her, she felt embarrassed for what she's going to say, but she WANTS to say them, she wants Pyrrha to know she means more then she realizes. Ruby licked her lips and finally spoke *

Ruby:I...i never tell you this since well, every day I was in beacon I was drunk off my ass. But I really appreciate how patience you are with me, how kind you always are, how you try to include me in things, sure drunk me always says no. But It means a lot that you at least thought of me. So...thank you for being my friend Pyrrha, I haven't had one since penny

*Pyrrha gave her a small smile of appreciation, she kissed Ruby's forehead and held her close*

Pyrrha:I...I might never get another chance to ask, so please don't hate me, what's...what's your opinion on your family?

Ruby;hm....let's start with my uncle, apparently I have this uncle I've never met, qrow branwen, I don't feel anything for him can't really feel something for a guy you've only seen in pictures

*Ruby said as she tried to picture her uncle qrow, the best she could come up with was a male raven which made her chuckle a bit*

Ruby:then there's my dad I...I hate that he left yang in charge that day, I know he couldn't have known yang was going to do that but at the same time, she was only 7 years old he should've hired a babysitter or something. So there's some resentment there....a lot of resentment actually, I honestly hope i never have to meet him again. Then there's my aunty raven one of the people who screwed me up so badly that she's become one of the voices in my head

Pyrrha:so you hate her?

*Ruby sighed, it wasn't a tired one but s frustrated one, she hugged herself and kept looking at the sun*

Ruby:I hate that I know she's right about me, I am just a huge disappointment. No matter what I do I could never be as good as my own mother

Pyrrha:ruby that's not true

Ruby:say what you want but it is. I know you've heard the legend. The great summer rose the huntress that was able to almost kill Salem. No one has ever come that close compared to her? I'm nothing but a disappointment

*It scared pyrrha just how much of a fact ruby saw that statement as if it was the gospel truth, the sun will come up tomorrow and summer will always be better then ruby, in Ruby's mind*

Ruby:but whenever she comes around I do end up become stronger then before, I don't like her but I at least respect her and her fucked up way of training me. I....i think in her own way she's protecting me, making me stronger so I never become anyone's slave again heh she was even the one that saved when I was about to be sold

Pyrrha:wait seriously?

*Ruby snorted at Pyrrha's sudden excitement for another one of Ruby's story, ruby on the other hand just looked at the hallucination of raven, was it a toxic relationship? Absolutely and sober ruby knew that, but be it sober or drunk, ruby wanted power and raven gave her just that after every visit*

Ruby:a story for another time, anyway then.... there's my mother. I hate her, no matter if I'm drunk or if I'm sober I despise that woman and her hero complex, she could've left that battle for atlas to deal with, they had the money and the technology to do almost the same amount of damage, but did she do that?! No she just had to be the hero and abandoned her family! Why should I love someone, who didn't love me enough to stick around?

*Pyrrha didn't say anything, knowing that if she said the wrong thing ruby would closer herself up again. Ruby on the other hand took a few breaths to calm down*

Ruby:then there's Xiao long....

*Before ruby could continue both girls heard growling, they looked out and saw a heard of beowolves coming out of the bushes, the scent of Ruby's blood attracted them. Pyrrha quickly got up*

Pyrrha:stay down ruby, that's an order from your leader, I'll take care of this

Ruby:with what weapon?

Pyrrha:that doesn't matter! I promise I won't let them....

Ruby; Zwei....bark

*Zwei got up and walked in Front of both humans, the beowolves were coming closer and Zwei gave an almighty roar that shook the very earth*

* Pyrrha feet a sense of pure fear crawling up her spine as the beowolves ran away terrified. Zwei turned around and walked back to the cave positioning himself in a way that his white spikes don't harm ruby and she only lays on his soft fur. Ruby scratched his fur*

Ruby;good boy...

Pyrrha:w..what was that?!

*Pyrrha said her legs still trembling making ruby snicker, she patted the floor next to her and Pyrrha sat back down*

Ruby:the different between a C level Grimm and a A level Grimm

Glynda:RUBY, PYRRHA!!!

*boh saw Glynda running towards them having the same terrified face pyrrha had a moment ago ruby couldn't help but laugh to the point she chocked on her own spit*

Glynda:are you both ok?! I heard a large beast, it could only be

Ruby:it was just zwei

Glynda:......

*Glynda looked at the ursa who yawned, Glynda'd eye started to twitch as she grabbed ruby and held her bridal style. She took a sigh and started walking away*

Glynda: pyrrha either hurry up or I shall leave you behind, and don't forget that today is a school night, if you want a ride to beacon now's your chance

Pyrrha:c.. coming! See you later Zwei!

*Zwei gave a small roar as a goodbye as Pyrrha ran to catch up*
