*After a rough night of dealing with the specter of Ruby's dead owner, ruby was able to go to sleep from her body just shutting down at 4 in the morning*

*Ruby fell on the hot San with a groan feeling the blood starting to build up in her mouth, the sun was blocked from her small body as in front of her rattlesnake Jake was blocking the light*

Ruby:you slap like a girl, what's wrong? You forget how to slap while you've been gone?

Jake:my, someone gotten a bit of a mouth since I've been gone. Looks like I need to reteach you how to have some damn manners

*Jake said smirking, being inside Ruby's head, this illusion of Jake knew all that sass all that bravado, was just bluff. As he got closer to her rattling his tail. Ruby remained there frozen not being able to move*

Jake:my oh my does it feel good to be back

Ruby:your not back you're gone, your dead and I made sure your dead. Ak!

*Jake didn't appreciate his Property running her little mouth, he grabbed her by her neck and raised ruby up in the air. Ruby started scratching his arm trying to break free but she couldn't. Jake just had that twisted smile on his face as he looked at her*

Jake:oh, but for you I'm very much alive, living forever in your mind. Come on petal, I know how much you've missed this

*Jake said his once normal tone soon turned to a drunk slur and ruby could smell the cheap bear Jake would always drink. He pulled ruby close and kissed her, ruby remained still but Jake managed to overpower her and force his tongue inside her mouth. Ruby felt a chill down her spine as she felt Jake's hand going lower to her body about to touch her intimate area after so long*

Real world

*Ruby woke up with a small groan thankful that the drugs didn't leave her in a coma like state where she couldn't wake up, she flinched when she felt arms around her. Her mind still not caught up with her she freaked out*

Ruby:get away from me!!!

*Ruby yelled out of reflex pushing Pyrrha out of bed, Pyrrha woke up from a jump and groans loudly, she looked up with a frown*

Pyrrha:ruby what the he...ruby?

*Pyrrha said looking at ruby who was pushing herself to the corner her tail rattling fast, her whole body was trembling as tears automatically started falling from her face*

Pyrrha:rubes...

*Pyrrha said her concern clear in her tone, she climbed back to bed and tried to touch her*

Pyrrha:ruby look at me

Ruby: don't touch me Jake!!

*Ruby screamed at Pyrrha taking her by surprised saying the name of that snake, pyrrha took a scoot back as she raised both her hand to show she didn't intend to harm her*

Pyrrha:ruby, it's me Pyrrha, Pyrrha nikos. Please try to calm down. I'm not gonna hurt you, you know

Ruby:p... Pyrrha....

*ruby said, her tone sounded unsure and scared it didn't match the ruby rose Pyrrha knew. For ruby as her brain was becoming clearer and the mind fog disappearing the imagine that was in front of her changed. What was once rattlesnake Jake, turned in to a very concern Pyrrha nikos*

Ruby;r.. right right Pyrrha...I uh..I'm fine, I'm fine just need to splash some water on my face. Been a hard night

*Ruby muttered as she cleaned her eyes with her fingers. Her fingers turned in to her arms, which then turn to her full arm as she tried to calm herself*

Pyrrha:hey it's ok, we all have bad nights, come on. Let's do back to sleep it's still pretty early

Ruby;no!...n..no...I....I slept more then enough, I just need some cold water to refresh myself as you city girls call it

*Ruby said in some attempt to bring the unshakable version of herself, but she was failing since she could see Pyrrha still looking at her with those damn eyes. The eyes of someone who was concern*

Raven:there you go again, making your problem someone else, god how pathetically weak you are. No wonder Jake took advantage of you, as always such a disappointment....

*Ruby heard raven, seeing her behind Pyrrha looking at her with her arm crossed, having those eyes, those eyes of seeing ruby as nothing but a weak little girl. Ruby frowned and got out of bed*

Ruby"I'm not weak, that dream was nothing, YOU are nothing. So just leave me alone"

* Ruby throught glaring at the fake raven. Ruby flinched when she felt Pyrrha's hand on her shoulder. Flinched, but didn't pull away*

Pyrrha:ruby, wait....

Ruby:I'm fine!

*Ruby yelled harshly, stopping whatever pitiful platitudes Pyrrha was about to give her, she slapped Pyrrha's hand away and left the room. Pyrrha rubbed her hand her concern never leaving her face. She frowned and followed ruby to make sure she was alright*

With ruby

*Ruby closed the door the bathroom and leaned against the door taking deep breaths as if that would calm her down, she shook her head and went to the sink, she turned it on and splashed water at her face, she looked up and saw herself filled with blood, sweat and a white sticky fluid around her body. She trembled and started to wash her face aggressively trying to get rid of all the filth*

Ruby:come on, why won't it get off me!

*Ruby gave a small scream of frustration as she get washing her face and hand, it got do the point she started scratching her own face to get it off her, the stench of Jake's body on her nose making her feel more disgusted with herself, she didn't stop until she heard a knock on the door*

Pyrrha:ruby? Are you well? You've been there for 20 minutes

Ruby:I..I'm fine! I'm fucking fantastic! Just...just give me a minute!

*Ruby said her tone becoming more and more harsh, from a mix of her own frustrations, the vivid memories and the alcohol withdrawal affecting with her moods. Ruby gave herself a final splash from her face and cleaned it with the towel. She didn't dare look at the mirror again*

Jake"what a coward"

Raven"what a weakling"

Penny"no wonder you couldn't save me...."

*Ruby froze as another illusion decided to make her presence known. Ruby took a breath and opened the door. Pyrrha saw the red lines on Ruby's face, but didn't say anything. They looked at the living room and saw nobody*

Ruby:either the princess is sleeping, or she left us on our own

Pyrrha:there's a note on the table

*Ruby nodded and went to the kitchen to try and find something to eat, Pyrrha went to the note and read it out loud*

Pyrrha:it said there was an emergency at beacon and that she won't be able to come back till late afternoon. It...uh, that's all it said yup

Ruby:did you forget what I told you about keeping things from me?

*Ruby growled as she took the ingredients out to make a grilled cheese. Pyrrha sighed feeling uncomfortable, she gulped a little*

Pyrrha:it...it also said that I'm in charged of you, and to keep an eye out to make sure you don't start drinking

Ruby:and you were nervous about that? Your my team leader, you already have to look after me. that ain't new, now do you want a grilled cheese or not? Cause I'm not gonna ask you a second time

*Ruby said, it was her own way of being nice to pyrrha for kicking her out of bed. Pyrrha nodded and sat down to wait after a few minutes of silence Pyrrha decided to speak*

Pyrrha:I... can't really imagine what your going through

Ruby;I'll survive, I always do. Ain't my first rodeo with alcohol withdrawal, though annoyingly I've been buzzed for so long that the withdrawals are longer this time

*Ruby placed the butter knife down and took a few breaths, feeling Jack's hand crawling down her back made ruby sick do her stomach but she ignored the vile illusion*

Ruby:tough it's been a long time since the last time I had to be without a sip of my medicine

*Pyrrha had to roll her eyes on that, the fact that ruby saw an alcoholic drink where literal poison is involved being used as medicine was a bit too much for her*

Pyrrha:you know, there's probably some other ways of helping you, like pills or something

Ruby:your not thinking long term angel face, even if someway you get a doctor to see a runaway slave without calling the authorities. What's gonna happen when I go back to vacuo? There ain't exactly a hospital for people like me over there, where I can get my fix. Nah darling, cactus juice is my solution, I just need to endure till this fucking medicine Glynda is making me take finishes healing me up

*Ruby turned around with her eyes closed and walked through the specter, further proving the fact that it is very much all in Ruby's head*

Pyrrha:o..oh right. I'm sorry, I forgot that.....

Ruby/Jake: I'm/she's nothing more then Jake's/my property

*Ruby and Jake said at the same time, ruby trembled as she heard that thing snickering. When in reality it was just the buttered bread sizzling*

Pyrrha:but your not his property anymore! You killed him!

*Ruby pressed the bread tighter making it zizzle more as Pyrrha saw ruby take a breath, her mood changed again from a harsh angry one, to a depressed tone*

Ruby:killing one man doesn't change the law of the land, by law I'm to be sold off if I'm ever caught. I'm not free Pyrrha, when I'm buzzed I can pretend that I am, that I ended winning and got a good ending to my past, but now that there's not a drop of alcohol in me? I can tell you that I'm not free any, I'm just delaying the inevitable, I wasn't lying when I said I will die long before they change those laws, since I would rather die young then to be a slave again

*Ruby's breath hitched as she felt his hands on her ass, ruby turned around and slapped the air, all it did was make him blurry for a second but he returned with that same damn smile*

Ruby; I'll never be truly free....
