Velvet:i got you, thank you so much for the help I....

*The door was opened with a slam everyone looked and it was a very angry glynda goodwhich*

Glynda:what is goin on here, miss rose what are you doing outside your bed?!!

Ruby:doing your job for....for.....

*Ruby's eyelids started getting heavy, the loss of blood and alcohol in her system finally getting to her as she passed out*

Now

Penny: ruby look out!!

*Penny pushed ruby out of the way as she was shot multiple times by atlas military dogs. Ruby looked shocked tears falling freely from her face as she looked at Penny falling on the floor*

Ruby:penny!!

*Ruby glared at the atlas knights a group of military robots. her silver eyes shinning like never before as she gave a warriors cry and dashed towards them all, she spun around them faster and faster to the point they were lifted in to the air. Ruby managed to for a moment break her limits and go to speeds of 300 mph, sending them all flying to the night sky to God knows where, but they won't be alive when they get there. Ruby stopped and gave a small screamed as her eyes deactivated, she felt a sharp pain in her ankles from breaking her limits*

Penny:r.. ruby...

*Ruby snapped her neck and ignored the pain in a flash she was next to a crying penny, ruby sat down and lifted her softly to Ruby's lap. Ruby had her hand on the back or Penny's head looking at her heartbroken*

Ruby:you stupid girl! Why would you do something so stupid?! I have silver eyes I would've been fine!

*Ruby screamed her voice cracking, quickly she was becoming a crying mess as she felt her friends body getting colder. Penny looked up at ruby giving her a soft smile*

Penny:because you are my friend, friends look after each other

Hours later

*Ruby groaned feeling as if her eyes were on fire. As slowly as she could she opened her eyes and looked around instead of the nurse office she was expecting, she was in a home, and instead of a stiff hospital, she was ironically I'm a equally as stiff sofa*

Ruby:where the fuck am I?

???:that would be my home, miss rose

*Ruby snapped her head at the source of the sound and instantly regretted it. She groaned loudly in pain from moving too fast. The sounds of footsteps walking fast to the couch was heard and glynda goodwitch looked down at ruby*

Glynda:be still your body Is still weak. Here drink this

*Glynda said In a gentle tone that surprised ruby, seeing as glynda always spoke in such a stern tone. Glynda gave ruby a bottle of water and some pills, without thinking twice ruby took them and drank the bottle completely in one gulp taking a  huge breath when she finished*

Ruby:why am I in you're home? Shouldn't I be in the nurse office or some shit?

Glynda:after the little incident back at beacon it was decided that you would heal faster outside of the school.

*They both heard a knock at the door. Glynda walked up do it and opened the door and was a bit surprised at who was there*

Glynda: miss scarlatina what are you doing here? How are you here? I don't remember giving you my address

Velvet:o...oh well I uh kinda asked ozpin and he uh gave it to me

*Glynda had a small glare on her face at ozpin for giving her information like that, sadly for velvet she thought it was directed at her making her flinch and even more nervous*

Velvet:I..I'm sorry! I uh j.. just wanted to see if ruby was ok, I..I brought some cake!

*velvet said bowing presenting the box, Glynda eyes soften as she moved aside*

Glynda:please come inside. Ruby just woke up, just...don't expect a warm welcome. That's never been miss Rose style. I'll make some tea while you go and talked to her

Velvet:I've been told, and thank you for the hospitality

*Velvet walked inside seeing that girl that stood up for her resting on the couch, her heart started pumping faster out of fear seeing her tail. Just like Ruby is scared of large birds because of her snake side, velvet having a bunny was scared of predators like snakes*

Velvet:h..hello again, we didn't get a chance to introduce ourself s..since you kinda passed out. I'm velvet, velvet scarlatina

Ruby:....ruby, ruby rose. I would say it's a pleasure but I'm just too weak to whip a gnat at the moment

*Ruby looked to where velvet was looking and sighed, she flipped herself so that the her tail was hiding under the blankets*

Ruby:better?

Velvet:not gonna lie a..a little. S..sorry you don't make me uncomfortable honestly! It's just...well snake eats rabbits, kinda like birds eat snakes

*Ruby hummed nodding slowly in agreement*

Ruby:it's fine, what's in the box?

Velvet's:o..oh! It's uh, it's for you, a present for helping me. I didn't know what you liked so I uh, just got you my personal favorite a carrot cake with buttercream frosting

Ruby:well that's mighty kind of y'all. Let's see it

*Velvet placed the box on the table and opened it. Ruby very slowly sat up straight with help from velvet, ruby rattled her tail making velvet flinch and ruby to chuckle weakly. Velvet huff giving her a small glare*

Velvet: that wasn't funny.

Ruby:for me it was, come now cut me a slice I feel like I haven't eating in days

Glynda;that's because the doctor had to pump your stomach to take the alcohol out of your system

*Glynda said putting teas for the 3 of them there, silverware and plates for the cake, velvet cut slices for the 3 of them. Ruby took a bite and enjoyed it*

Ruby: good cake, never had carrot cake before

Velvet:glad you like it, made it myself actually. Always loved baking stuff like this

Ruby:then why are you becoming a pro hunter and not something like a baker?

*Glynda didn't say anything wanting to see this play out, so she just looked at the two of them. Velvet gave a small awkward laugh scratching her cheek*

Velvet:because it's always been my dream to help people, to save them from Grimm like how my hero saved me. Even if I'm weak enough to let myself be treated like that then I deserves what I get

Ruby:you heard that huh?

Velvet:kinda hard not to hear with my ears snake girl

*Both chuckled a little, ruby took another bite of her cake*

Ruby: well if you're here for an apology I'm not gonna give it, if you can't even defend yourself how are you gonna defend others?

Velvet:you and Coco would get along great, she tells me the same thing every time. And I'm trying to get better that's all I can say. But no I'm not here to ask for an apology your not the first person to say that about me, won't be the last either

Ruby:I see...well trust me, trying is better then not doing anything at all

*Again ruby was projecting since she feels like she hasn't moved an inch in to getting better, and is too broken to ask for help as she drowns at the sea that is her mind., ruby coughed a little and looked at glynda*

Ruby:care to be more specific on why I'm here?

Glynda:More specifically, I'm gonna take care of you so you don't do anything stupid

*Glynda said as she sat down in her lazy chair. Ruby gave her a small glare*

Ruby:if I don't do what? Hey, last I checked I did something good

Glynda: shooting your own teammates is a good thing?

Ruby:.....she shouldn't have tried to help

*Ruby muttered looking another direction with her arms crossed. Glynda clicked her digital pen and started writing on her iPad*

Glynda:why didn't she need need to help?

Ruby:because I didn't need it, I beat 3 of them without breaking a sweat. And suddenly she just jumped in at the last moment to get the credit? Fuck no and fuck her for trying that

*Ruby said with a soft growl, she was too weak to noticed she was letting her guard downs. Glynda was taking advantage of that to help ruby*

Glynda:and you don't think she decided to help because she's your friend?

Ruby;if she wanted to help why did she wait so long? And friend? Don't make me laugh. I'm just there for the money, and she just sees me as entertainment not as a friend. I don't need any friends, not after last time

*Glynda looked at ruby curiously seeing actual sadness in her face. Ruby sniffled a little remembering that orange hair girl that gave her beautiful life for Ruby's worthless one*

Glynda:what happened last time?

Ruby:......

Glynda:if you tell me I won't ask anything else for the rest of the day

*Ruby sighed and looked up at the ceiling*

Ruby:what the hell, might be a good story to tell while we eat. Bunny girl, I'll asked you to keep what I say here to yourself. I'm not big on sharing my past with people

Velvet:I won't tell a soul I promise

*Ruby opened her mouth completely again scaring velvet a little, she placed the whole slice in her mouth and swallowed*

Ruby:alright...this story of my life takes place 2 year before I came to beacon...
